The stories were interesting, but the editing made reading all of these stories difficult! With so many misspelled words, it becomes annoying to read. I realize these were short books, but the characters needed to be developed more as well.
For some reason I was unable to enter 5 STARS, be advised that IT IS 5 STARS.
Forbidden Christmas
Filling in for a relative leads to some innocent promises between boss and employee and to themselves. Promises they try to keep but when their unexpected and very hot attraction to each other leads to a sizzling conclusion well promises are swept aside. Will they be able to go back to boss and employee without consequences?
Forbidden Reunion
Everyone can make mistakes, but not everyone is given the opportunity to see if the decision they made back then was the right one. When former lovers are brought together in order to show the companies can work together, well let’s just say that the fear one has of making the same mistake again, is overwhelmingly decided by the other that the error was his and he’s going to do everything he can to show her he’s not the same man who hurt her before. The author gives us some serious loving along with her usual sense of humor. She’s given us wonderful characters in a story filled with both emotional and sensual feelings. I don’t do spoilers so you’ll have to read the book to find out what happens from the time they see each other for the first time in many years; their fears, fights, and desires, before they discover how their story will end. I recommend this book to all us romantics out there waiting for the ONE.
Forbidden Boss
A boss who needs a favor, an assistant who can help him. But should she; she’s always been attracted to him. A romantic location helps breakdown any notions they had of behaving. After all with their attraction for each other, they didn’t have a chance. Hot and sizzling short story.
Forbidden Boss: yummy, decadent and delicious work romance. It is always an eye opener when you get out of the office.
Forbidden Reunion: Sometimes there is the one who got away…..sometimes they make reappearance into your life……fabulous job in this second chance story that will make your toes curl and your blood heat up!
Forbidden Christmas: a sweet heat filled Christmas time romance that is also work based but totally different.
Fun collection of spicy romances!
What’s better than one Carmen Falcone novella? Three! While Forbidden Reunion and Forbidden Boss were previously released, Forbidden Christmas is a brand new short story to warm you up (and make you hot!) and put you in a festive mood.
FORBIDDEN REUNION
Since her break-up with Kylian Chevillard, Savannah Buford has been dating safe, reliable men. Savannah works in the same PR firm as her fiancé, Daniel Grasmann; they will be married in a month. But Daniel tells her that, to stay afloat, their firm needs a big client, and Daniel found him. Only the client asked specifically for Savannah. Kylian is that important client; he needs a competent PR person to handle his Hawaiian resort, and when he noticed Savannah at a networking gathering they were all attending, he knew he finally had his chance to right a wrong. Kylian had made a mistake when he let Savannah go, and now is his chance to get her back.
When you see a new “forbidden” novel from Carmen Falcone, you know you’re in for sizzling times, and FORBIDDEN REUNION has all that heat and so much more. It was so wonderful that there was no animosity between Kylian and Savannah, no harsh words, no stinging barbs. They handled their break-up like rational adults, but you could feel the lingering hurt, the regrets, and the affection and the undeniable attraction that still simmered between them. FORBIDDEN REUNION is a simple story really, but filled with so many conflicting emotions. There are some truly moving bits, and I loved how Savannah remained level-headed and professional all the way – apart from the forbidden angle of sleeping with the client, but that’s why it’s a Carmen Falcone Forbidden story! And I so much appreciated how she realised that she loved Daniel, but just “not like that”, and she behaved accordingly.
Carmen Falcone’s writing truly sparkles, her prose is more evocative than ever with some Hawaiian vistas to make us dream. I will repeat myself, but I so very much enjoyed how smooth this FORBIDDEN REUNION was. There are no ugly words exchanged, it’s not a stressful story, but a sometimes bittersweet one, and deeply imbued with tenderness and a real desire for Kylian to redeem himself, which he does it beautifully. And what a lovely epilogue to conclude the story! I loved that the drama was there, that both characters experienced noticeable growth, and that Ms. Falcone can put her characters through the emotional wringer, while they manage to act like rational people. She also does all that while respecting her readers’ intelligence. Oh, and maybe you should have some ice cubes at the ready in case your reading device starts overheating, because dear readers FORBIDDEN REUNION is hot, burning, red-lava hot!
FORBIDDEN BOSS
Brazilian billionaire investor Lucas Grande wants to see if a property in Brazil is worth buying, but it’s a couples-only resort. It’s a quick decision, so Lucas decides to ask his assistant Crystal Fox to pose as his girlfriend for the weekend. Crystal has the hots for her boss, but would never act on it; she likes her job and she wants to keep it. Besides he throws women away like tissues, and Crystal would like a nice, normal boyfriend. But Crystal drives a hard bargain: in exchange, Lucas will pretend to be a boyfriend at her high school reunion; that should do it to keep things professional.
A new story by Carmen Falcone is always cause for celebration, so let’s celebrate this sizzling romance! FORBIDDEN BOSS is just delicious, and I loved Crystal; she is so easy to relate to. Lucas? Well, he’s the sort of hero that we expect from Ms. Falcone: driven, honourable, exotic, and oh so sexy! FORBIDDEN BOSS is a longish novella, but a very quick read because it is so enjoyable. Carmen Falcone never fails to make me smile! The pace is brisk, the descriptions of Brazil are to die for, the writing is solid, eloquent, and so witty. Enjoy this super sexy and fun romance.
FORBIDDEN CHRISTMAS
Max Bennett, a New York business owner, is a real grinch. Two weeks before Christmas, his regular assistant must take a leave of absence because of illness in the family. She sent her niece Sophie to replace her. Jane and Max are good friends, so she also asked him to keep an eye on Sophie. Oh, he keeps an eye on her, all right, but keeping his hands to himself will not be an easy task!
FORBIDDEN CHRISTMAS is a short story but long on substance. The premise is very ingenious, and I loved how Max and Sophie get closer. No, I’m not telling, read it for yourself! Sophie is very bold, but goodness, she’s cute! Max is really a darling underneath it all. Carmen Falcone has perfected the art of the novella and the short story. You get all the essential: sexy times; sympathetic and fully fleshed out characters, a solid plot, some laughs, and a romance you can believe in. Can you ask for anything more?
