This book was formerly titled MR. PINK.Bad Boy Takedown Alert! “You know what they say, the bigger they are, the harder they fall, and Austin was spectacular at falling.” “Grab your fans and settle in for this racy new series by USA Today Bestselling Author, Tessa Layne, told entirely from the Alpha’s POV” She was only supposed to be a one-night stand… Let’s face it. I’m a jerk with a big bank … stand… Let’s face it. I’m a jerk with a big bank account, and that means I call the shots. Until Macey McCaslin. There’s only one word to describe the smart, sexy, take-no-prisoners she-devil. Unforgettable. And while we may have made an agreement, she’s bent on breaking the rules as much as I am. This may cost me everything, but I’m not staying away… The only hitch in our little plan? Macey’s off-limits. So far off-limits, my brother Jason might kill me if he found out about us. And when he does, because he will find out… When I put it all on the line for Macey, the secrets that come tumbling out may break us both. Mr. Pink is the first book in the Case Brothers series, but connects to Ms. Layne’s Cowboys of Flint Hills and Resolution Ranch worlds. Austin has been banished to his brother’s winery in the middle of nowhere, but in just 90 days, his trust fund will be safe and secure. His plans get a wrench thrown in when he sees Macey, the woman he can’t keep his mind off of. She has baggage and he is a notorious rich playboy, but maybe, just maybe, they can help each other and find some fun before he heads back to his life. That is what he wants still, right?
This book definitely had a way to suck you in, love every second of reading it, and want so much more! Austin and Macey definitely had an interesting relationship that stemmed from amazing desire, helping each other through some difficult times, and shockingly building heavier emotional connections. Austin is a bit of a cocky jerk, but his arrogance works for him, he’s driven, he’s devoted, and I loved watching him realize that he’s made for so much more than just a playboy lifestyle. Macey has a lot of depth to her, with being a widow and having a daughter, coming from a winery background, and trying to fight her attraction to Austin, but she was fun and caring. They made an amazing team with the vineyard, and their passion could be felt through the pages. I actually really enjoyed that this was solely from Austin’s point of view, and I bet it was a lot of fun to write! This book was fun, fast paced, steamy with a bit of sweet thrown in here and there, and most of all, it felt real. There’s real emotions that Austin has to work through that anyone would have to in these situations, and I just love feeling connected to the town and characters because of this! Amazing book, a great start to these complex and cocky brothers, and I am really excited for the next one!
Great book! This book grabbed my attention from the beginning and held it all the way through the book. I enjoyed the storyline and the complicated relationship between the brothers. The steamy hot sex scenes are awesome too! Book well written.
Austin has always been a trust fund boy good for nothing, except for drinking and women. At least, that is what everybody thinks of him.
Macey doesn’t trust men anymore after what her husband did. However, every time she is around Austin sparks fly between them.
Austin is a character that I dislike immensely. He is intelligent, but he behaves like a shellfish jerk spending the family money. However, Macey was quite a surprise for me. I would have never thought of her being so wild.
The book is well-written, and the characters are well-developed. I love little Sophie. I would have liked to read more scenes with her. She is so cute!
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Wow, where to start? The sizzling, too hot, beautiful couple sneaking sexy time at every opportunity, or the interesting, disjunctional, wealthy wine empire family, or the fabulous cast of characters in Prairie. I loved the hot stud player, Austin and his comeuppance when he meets his Gorgeous. Macey has a load of sadness in her past but she melts when the player sets his sights on her. There’s so much more to this story than just the steamy romance. So many family dynamics, some good and some bad but makes for a great read. Terrific writing and wonderful characters makes this story flow and engrossing until the end. I really like the male POV and the wine culture in the story. I can’t wait for the next story about the hot Case brothers and I’ve got some catching up to do with the Prairie hunks. Mr. Pink ! Sensational story with lots of steam. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
This was okay for me. The writing itself flowed well, but my dislike came from Austin. He is nothing like the characters that this author usually writes, and it was hard to adjust to that (for me anyway). He is arrogant, selfish, and a pretty big jerk until about 90% of the story. I was hoping for some growth, but there is only 1 time before then that he does anything remotely nice. I know that Austin had things in his past that were awful, but that didn’t give him the right to treat other people that way. I felt like that whole situation was just swept under the rug. Macey was a good character, and I felt like she was too good for Austin. The ending was sweet, and it nice to see a better side to Austin. I’m hoping that the other brothers won’t be quite so slow to change.
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Mr. Pink made me Ms. Pink more than once!
I’ve read every book Tessa Layne has published to date and this one is the perfect example of the growth that comes with experience.
This book pulled me in with the way the author changed up her usual style. I love that she spun this story and wrote it in first person. Well done Tessa!
The characters are wonderfully developed and their depth is infinite. I know that the upcoming books in the series will not focus on them, but I am excited to learn a bit more about them along the way!
Austin and Macey make a great team and their easy banter makes me want to meet them for a drink… I’ll have to pass on the wine but maybe I can get Austin to pass an IPA!
Mr. Pink is book number one in the Case Brothers series by Tessa Layne. This is Macey McCaslin and Austin Case’s story.
Oh my! When I started this book I had a hard time connecting to Austin. I just did not like his character but as the story unfolds you get to know the real Austin and understand his demeanor better. The characters were great and I especially loved Sophie, Macey’s daughter. What a great entertaining story of hot chemistry with so many emotions.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I liked this book for many reasons. First, the family aspect of the story was entertaining. The characters had great interactions. The brothers might not have gotten along, but they had good moments. I liked Macey and how her character was weaved in. Austin and Macey together created some very sexy scenes throughout the book! I also loved the setting of the vineyards and winemaking. That was very unique. The author was so detailed, I feel like I know a ton about wine and winemaking now. This is just a great story, I would definitely recommend it! Mr. Pink is book 1 of the Case Brothers, a new series by Tessa Layne. Their older brother is Jason Case from A Hero’s Home: Resolution Ranch.
Austin and Macey had a one night stand and never expected to see each other again even though neither couldn’t seem to forget that one amazing night! Then Austin shows up in Prairie at his brother’s ranch and sees Macey again and wants her more than ever. The sparks ignite but they both have so many secrets…the question is…can they bring down the walls they have build around themselves and find their HEA or was their one night be a flash in the pan???
Speeding into this new series in his Italian Pagani auto, is Austin Case. He has wealth, arrogance and secrets. This book divulges those hidden dreams; mischievous ways; loves and hatreds. Women are his indulgences; good whiskey and fine living are his loves; however, two females manage to grab his heart so unexpectedly that I had to smile and laugh out loud at his gradual “take-down.” Macey becomes his addiction and Sophie takes his breath away. The story-line has adventure, wine-making and sensual scenes. I loved this book and look forward to more of this series.
Trust-fund playboy – Can he grow up?!?!!
Austin Case was raised in a wine family. As one of triplet boys he really did pay attention, but didn’t really care for the teachings that were forced upon him. Until his trust fund was at risk. A one-night-stand turns into much, much more as he learns that his conquest Macey is not only a widow, but a mom, and a somm where he must work with his brother.
Tough family, tough relationships. The growing relationship between Austin and Macey is incendiary. She sees the truth behind his façade as he delves into the family business and uncovers some uncomfortable truths. Terrific read, highly entertaining.

I liked this book so much! A fairy basic story is turned into much more with the addition of complex, compelling characters and intense emotions. It is hard for me to say which character I liked more; but either way I liked them both. It was so easy to feel for Macey. Her life has certainly had seem very large bumps along the way and it was inspiring to see her living her life and trying to move forward. Austin is a somewhat typical rich guy, playboy but again, the emotions that Macey and her daughter Sophie bring out in him add depth to his character and his interactions with Sophie brings out a lot of softness in him and showcases his charm. A great start to this series that left me excited for more.
