This book was formerly titled MR. PINK.Bad Boy Takedown Alert! “You know what they say, the bigger they are, the harder they fall, and Austin was spectacular at falling.” “Grab your fans and settle in for this racy new series by USA Today Bestselling Author, Tessa Layne, told entirely from the Alpha’s POV” She was only supposed to be a one-night stand… Let’s face it. I’m a jerk with a big bank … stand… Let’s face it. I’m a jerk with a big bank account, and that means I call the shots. Until Macey McCaslin. There’s only one word to describe the smart, sexy, take-no-prisoners she-devil. Unforgettable. And while we may have made an agreement, she’s bent on breaking the rules as much as I am. This may cost me everything, but I’m not staying away… The only hitch in our little plan? Macey’s off-limits. So far off-limits, my brother Jason might kill me if he found out about us. And when he does, because he will find out… When I put it all on the line for Macey, the secrets that come tumbling out may break us both. I loved Macey and Austin’s story! What started out as a one night stand neither could forget quickly turned into more. Each had a past to overcome and secrets to share. I loved the chemistry and the interactions between Macey and Austin. Looking forward to the other brothers’ stories! A story full of Passion, overcoming your past, readjusting your goals, laughter, and love.
Where more than the wine is at stake…
Austin and Lacey, this is their journey and story, set amidst the grapes and heart of the vineyards, where they will learn much, test each others patience, all the while teaching Austin so much more about the wines his family grows…
Dynamic and such heated chemistry – they both have the pages in this story set to sizzling! Each hold a past that they’d rather avoid at all costs. When you want something badly, you go after her with all you’ve got, even when it goes completely against your every rule. Learning to trust yourself, learning to forgive and move on from the past isn’t always easy no matter how hot the chemistry. Until the past can be faced, and changes made can love be the ultimate prize.
I wasn’t sure at first if I was going to be totally invested in this book… Through the pages I read, there is more than the surface level of what Austin’s playboy confidence and arrogance conveys to what he wants the world to see. In fact there is so much more to all of the characters. Tessa Layne is a new author for me and her story, MR PINK, a joy to read. I know I want to continue reading the books that make up this series and it’s connected series, getting to know all of the characters, their friendships/family dynamics, and most of all… their stories.
This steamy romance features Austin and Macey. He’s very irritating through most of the story. He’s the obnoxious, entitled, trust fund guy. He is REALLY each one of those things but the one thing that might be attractive about him is his confidence. I’m sure that’s what draws Macey to him as well. Austin‘s reaction to Macy’s young daughter is hilarious! In his defense, she is out of control when her mother isn’t present.
The story line is fabulous but his personality
killed it for me. All the other characters were great.
I have been a fan of Mrs. Layne’s for awhile now so I was very excited to hear she was starting a new series. As a fan of her cowboys, I was interested to see her new direction.
I have to say that I had a hard time in the very beginning of the book, I like my hero to be cocky but not so arrogant. This would be how I would describe Austin. There wasn’t very many redeemable qualities about him and other than being really good in bed, so I couldn’t see the appeal for Macey.
However, after awhile Austin started to grow on me when he started to let his walls down. I loved the parts when he was the most vulnerable. When he had to take care of Macey’s daughter and believing he’s not a kid person. I loved reading about Macey’s daughter pushing boundaries and him catching on. Watching Austin grow in the book was really interesting to read.
Macey was a woman that I admired. She was someone who was dealt a huge blow when her husband died and has done an amazing job putting her life together. She seems to be a wonderful and caring mom and coworker and friend.
I am looking forward to book two in this series.
Just like a great bottle of wine – smooth, sexy and full of pleasure. I love this spin of series!
Austin and Macey have immediate and undeniable chemistry to go along with their hot and steamy intimacies that seem to happen anytime and anywhere. They try to keep it as a fling while Austin reluctantly learns the wine business at his brother, Jason’s vineyard in Prairie but, Macey is too tempting for him to keep his hands to himself and, their attraction is unstoppable. It also becomes more interesting as Sophie, Macey five year old daughter is put in Austin’s care. Their time together and conversations are priceless.
These characters are so interesting and have so many emotions that they try to hide, it becomes their bump in the road. Can Macey get past her husband’s suicide? Can Austin get past his hatred towards Jason and his family? It is a romantic drama worth reading. I could not put the book down.
This book is well written and the characters are well detailed, with interesting and intriguing people . There is a lot of passion and love between the characters.
fast paced,
First book by this author and it won’t be my last. Love her style of writing. Fell instantly in love with Austin. Alpha male with a heart. Love the characters, can not wait to read the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed this advance reader copy of this book
Austin and Macey are well matched in this story. He as a lot of secrets that will blow you away when they come to light. This intense story will have you all aught up in it and on Austin’s side to get to his happily ever after.
I’ve read other books by Tessa Layne and loved them, but this one I just couldn’t get into. Let’s just blame it on my age. One of the few books I never finished.
I really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to the others in the series.
This is a hot and steamy romance between playboy Austin and single mum Macey. These two should have stayed well away from each other but they couldn’t and what starts out as a no strings attached hook up ends up being so much more. Lots of family drama and angst add to the story line.
I have to say when I first saw this title I didn’t get the connection to any of Tessa’s previous series. Now I get it, this series is about Jason Case’s half brothers. The Triplets are a source of irritation to their father, and also hold some secrets about Jason that are disturbing. This story really started with the wine-tasting in which we saw a different side in A Hero’s Home.
I fell in love with Macey and her daughter Sophie in A Hero’s Heart and as they appeared in other books I truly wanted Macey to get her happily ever after. The person to fill that would need to be very special indeed, what with Jason and Sterling watching out for them.
Now Austin and his brother Declan have quite the reputation with the ladies and their father is sick of it, he’s cut off their trust fund deposits and ordered them to Jason’s vineyard. They have to make a perfect wine in order to get their money flowing again.
Apparently Austin and Macey have hooked up a couple of times, but Macey was the last person he expected to see and for her to be the sommelier was quite the surprise. Arranging to meet outside of the vineyard would be even tougher, since Jason has told him hands off. Of course that isn’t going to stop either of them.
As Austin finds himself falling deeper with Macey a circumstance has him babysitting for Sophie.
The interactions between Austin and Sophie had me giggling every single time. Even though he doesn’t think he’s father material, he does quite well.
On the other hand, I truly feared my kindle would start melting in my hand when he and Macey are together. Yet in spite of that Austin does learn what he’s supposed to. However, it’s the things he discovers while checking the various Case vineyards for a grape from which to make his wine, that will be a major turning point.
Plenty of family drama, and revelations that will make your jaw drop especially if you’ve read the Resolution Ranch books with Millie and Jason. Plus a surprise or two.
I really enjoyed the sizzling start to this trilogy. I cant wait to read mr. white, Declan’s story.
Tessa is a new author for me and I loved Mr. Pink! Great story!!
Austin is the voice of this book which made a nice change. He’s lazy and entitled and perfectly happy squandering his trust fund on women and booze.
Macey is a new experience for him. She’s not flighty or irresponsible but she draws him in spite of her being different from his “normal”.
Fast and easy read that was enjoyable and interesting. Took Austin a bit long to be redeemed. This was a fun read, nice from the male POV and feels like the start of a new series. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
This started off slow for me but does pick up so you need to stay with it. The storyline was great and the characters have steamy chemistry. Austin is a rich playboy living off his trust fund. Macey has been through a tragedy. She needs to protect herself and her daughter. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Will Austin fall for Macey while trying to make an award winning wine
This is my first book by Tessa and I love how she quickly draws you in to the story of Austin and Macey, 2 opposites who attract and spontaneously combust. Austin is a bad boy who has his comeuppance with his parents and has to prove his worth at the hands of his half brother and Macey. Will Austin get past his commitment issues to let Macey in? You have to read to find out and will chuckle at Austin’s interactions with Macey’s daughter.
Mr. Pink is my first Tessa Layne book, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I received an ARC of it for an honest review, and I had read some of the reviews for her other books. However, I do that quite often and find myself disappointed with the book. Mr. Pink has a lot of really great things “going for it:”
1. The main hero Austin seems irredeemable. I mean, he is a self-professed “man-ho” who seeks nothing out of life except bedding women and living off of his trust fund. It takes most of the book for Austin to figure out he can actually love another human being (or two) (by the way, that was my one frustration with this book — it took him too long…almost to the end of the book to figure it out). However, as is the case with most playboy billionaire types in romance, it takes the love (and body) of one woman to help him change. Macey McCaslin lives up to that role in this book.
2. I like the setting of wineries for this book. Through Austin, we come to learn more about this business venture, and it’s always interesting to read stories in different industries.
3. Macey McCaslin is a powerful woman in her own right. It isn’t just her mind and her soul; it is also her body. These three together are her power, and they help Austin to find himself as a powerful man. I love strong women in romance. She has her flaws; however, her power is greater than her flaws.
Now, as I mentioned before, I would have liked for Austin to find redemption in the story sooner. He was quite the jerk for most of it. Even more, this story is told strictly from his point of view (I have no problem with a single point of view), but it would have been nice to get into Macey’s head a bit more. Having the dual point of view would have added more texture, I think.
That being said, I know that Layne plans for a three man series (Austin is a triplet), and she plans to continue with the single point of view. Therefore, I understand her choice.
Overall, I would recommend this story, especially if you like sexy, dirty, seemingly irredeemable playboys who find themselves through a strong powerful woman.
This is a good, well written romance. The storyline is well-crafted, sizzling, too hot, beautiful couple sneaking sexy time at every opportunity coupled with a rather interesting, dysfunctional, wealthy wine empire family,
What more could you wish for? Can’t wait for the next one.
I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review
Just like a fine wine. Sweet, sensual and sexy.
This was my first book by this author and I loved it. The first book in a spin-off series but can be read as a standalone. I love that it was written from the male point of view. Austin and Macey were hot from the beginning. Austin is cocky and arrogant but the fiery redhead brings him to his knees. I can’t wait to read the brother’s stories.
