A great story of a woman whose family sells her to an illegitimate Prince in order to save their company. The Prince has issues of abandonment, living a hard life, and succeeding in spite of everything. This is a beautiful tender story of two people coming together and finding love.
Another great read to the series. The author once again brings strong , well developed characters and weaves an interesting and intriguing story line filled with tons of emotion and love. It’s well written with detailed scenes, moves fluidly and I enjoyed reading. I would recommend this book/series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I was originally hesitant to read this book about since he had been portrayed so negatively before. I am so glad to have started this book. Mrs. Pinder’s talented writing gave us a Charles that the readers could embrace. She didn’t whitewash his past, but explained it in such a way that was believable. Sandi appeared on the scene as an independent sweet young lady whose archaic parents had agreed to marriage between her and Charles. We see familiar characters and are introduced to charming new ones. Excellent book! I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book.
This was one wonderfully fun novel and definitely recommended. It had just what I wanted and was well written and with a great plot and great cast of characters. I enjoyed reading and recommend. If you haven’t read the others in the series I recommend them also.
Returning to Avce is getting habit-forming.
This series is awesome and I can’t wait for more.
The characters have some problems to work out but they find the solutions in the end.
They are so pleasant to read.
The plot has some twists and turns that keep you wondering how it will turn out.
This author writes amazing books in different genres and never fails to please.
I love this author she does a great job of not only giving a great storyline but also including well defined and engaging characters.
I enjoyed this story of the illegitimate son of the King of Avce. Charles only loves his foster mother and is afraid to love anyone else since he feels as if everyone abandons him. When he meets his computer generated match Sandi, he is determined to marry her to keep his title. She believes in love, he doesn’t. But Sandy is everything he realizes he needs, but can he convince Sandi he is being authentic. I liked how everything came together. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Sandi Smith is hopping mad! The Denver girl leaves the Paris children’s cancer ward dressed as an Easter Bunny to call on Charles Esposito to cancel a proposed contract to marry the two so to save her parent’s home! Business can rot. She’ll marry only for love. She arrives to find him agreeable to canceling the whole idea also. This trips her big bugaboo: she constantly makes wrong decisions. She backtracks, offering him a choice of other women willing to marry a handsome, rich man in the next month before his birthday. The big problem is Charles does not believe in love having been abandoned to a convent by his birth parents and left by the nuns at a railroad depot during a war of rebellion as a two-year-old. Can the bastard son of King Leopold of Avce possibly find love with an American chosen by Avce’s famous matchmaker who admits she hardly knows Charles and only relied on the social media lies Sandi had posted? This romance has multiple other impediments to overcome and makes great reading! I recommend Forbidden Bastard.
A little Cinderella merged with Pride and Prejudice. A great addition to the Princes of Avce series. This is a wonderful book that you’ll find hard to put down once you begin reading. Guaranteed to make you lose some sleep. Well-developed likable characters and an engaging storyline. Chemistry galore and plenty of twists to keep you guessing. A fun read that features the King’s illegitimate son, Charles Esposito and his perfect match, Sandi Smith.
Wow, what an imaginative flawlessly compelling love story…
Previous reviewers have outlined the story itself so I’ll just comment on a few details & what resonated with me. It was almost like an historical novel at times because the narrative & detail of divergent cultures, royalty as we cannot conceive of was so intricate. Underlying the beauty of it all was an unbelievable story of an abandoned child who was rescued by a genuine, grieving but caring woman, unlike his mother who abandoned him & who was a whore to a king. He & his new “mother” struggled but he grew his own empire, his heart though was hardened. He decided to claim his legacy so his wonderful “mother” figure would be secure for the life remaining to her but he needed to be married before his fast approaching birthday. The story was full of anxiety, tension, but also the most tender & caring moments that I found myself praying for a happy outcome for this unlikely but seemingly destined couple. It really did fit that cliched “you complete me” & I totally love those toe curling fuzzy moments. Can’t recommend this highly enough. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
Once again, Victoria Pinder delivers a fun, suspenseful and steamy story that you won’t be able to put down
This is an adorable, fun, and exciting story. I think it is one of the best in the series.
Highly recommend
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book.
Sandi Smith was set up to be married by her parents. She wanted a marriage of love and she was to meet a stranger. Charles Esposite was abandoned in an orphanage at the age of two. There was a war and he was found by a kind lady who raised him as her own son after loosing a daughter and grandson. He later found out his father was the King of Avce. His mother had given him away. Wonderful story and characters. I was given a ARC of this book and I highly recommend reading this book reading this book.
A moving love story.
A child born out of wedlock. Given to cruel nuns and left on a train stain station while there was war right there. A grieving mother/grandmother saves child and keeps him as her son. Charles feels he is unloveable. We find out the reason he asked for Sheena’s annulment, when he cheated on her.
Sandi is sweet and feels responsible for her parents financial troubles.
He get her parents to agree for her to marry him even though they never meet and she foes not agree to the arrangement.
But they get to know each other and far for each other. But when Charles rushes he to marry him right away. She worries she is making another bad decision instead of listening to her heart.
Will there be a HEA?
I was glued to my kindle from the very beginning with the great storyline and wonderfully created characters that made this book a very enjoyable read!
