She is forbidden. She will still be mine.Pure. Untouched. The daughter of my most loyal friend.I shouldn’t have bared and punished her.I shouldn’t think every day of tearing her clothes off and ravaging her.But I did, and I do, and when I claim her it won’t be the gentle lovemaking she deserves.Forbidden or not, she’ll scream my name as she learns what it means to belong to a man like me.… what it means to belong to a man like me.
Publisher’s Note: Forbidden includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Anthony, a billionaire member of the Italian Mafia, and Dasha, a member of the Russian Bratva, had become unlikely friends and business associates. There was a respect between these two unlikely friends that merged into a feeling of family toward each other. Dasha also had a young daughter who, upon her first sight of Anthony, knew he was the love of her life. There would be no other for her. Anthony held a love for Raychel. One that could only be described as platonic. The love of an Uncle towards his niece. The three of them had become a close family of sorts until the day came that Dasha was shot in the back of the head. That changed everything.
Alta Hensley has given us “Forbidden”. Filled with so much emotion and turmoil, it sucked me in from the first page. All the feels and angst presented were so relatable, it was easy to slide into the story and just live it with the characters. This was so good, I hope she will turn this into a series. We would be able to have more of Anthony and Raychel’s story PLUS get to know the members of “Black Secrets” and their story … just a thought
Forbidden was a sweet and steamy read with a hint of the forbidden that made for a angsty slowburn. As much of a mismatch as Anthony and Raychel appeared to be they were great together. I enjoyed the tension between them yet found myself a bit frustrated at times with these two. Their shared past and loss only served to bring them closer as their feelings for one another began to evolve. The delightfully wicked journey these two took me on made for an enjoyable and surprisingly sweet and forbidden read.
This was a good book. The characters are enjoyable and the story is well written. Different from my usual genre but I liked reading. I recommend reading.

A short read with plenty of sexual tension. A little on the taboo side but more of a sweet love story between two people who didn’t feel that they deserved each other. A fun little read that kept me entertained.

This is a delightfully wicked story of an older man and younger woman. Anthony is Raychel’s father’s best friend and since her father was killed. he thinks of her as more than a young girl and more like a woman. Their guilt is what is not letting them be happy and have a future with each other. Will they be bale to get over it and take a journey to happiness together???

Raychel is a starving artist and the daughter of an ex mafia man. Her father was killed five years ago and he asked his friend Anthony to look after her. These two have a crush on each other but think it’s taboo because of their age difference. A slow burn romance almost frustratingly slow. A decent read all the same.

A great story of an older man and a younger woman. There is nothing more sexy than an older alpha male that is wanting to share all his experience with a sexy young woman. They are bound for the sexiest love story of a lifetime.
I’ve become so used to the idea of Alta Hensley books being so confronting & harsh (comparatively) & incorporating things & ideas that will push my boundaries as a reader, that this book came off as a bit of a surprise. Yes, it still deals with the idea of an older man/young woman. Yes, it still has characters that work outside the law. But, overall, this book felt much softer than other books. Don’t misunderstand – it’s still a raw, emotional read. Anthony, while older, seems more of a softer ‘Daddy’ type in his relationship with Raychel. He still demands her compliance, but in a way that guides her along, rather than pulling. There are some great emotional scenes between the characters & some wonderful insights into the mindset of the characters.
This May December romance is about a young woman in love with her dead father’s best friend. When she discovers that he has feelings for her as well, it is heaven and hell. Raychel considers Anthony as forbidden, believing her father would not approve of a relationship between them. Anthony feels like he is betraying his friend but his desire for Raychel and his need to care for her have him at the breaking point.
There’s a lot of sexual tension between these characters for a good portion of the book before their passion finally explodes, but when it does, it’s pretty darn hot! I loved Anthony and I really cared about Raychel although I have to say her reluctance to see or speak to Anthony lest she betray her feelings for him was rather extreme. I enjoyed this book very much. Forbidden is another great read by Alta Hensley.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
This is a steamy, forbidden romance between Anthony and his best friend’s daughter Raychel. When Raychel’s father was killed both Anthony and Raychel were heartbroken and it changed both of them forever. Anthony and Raychel’s journey of love is an emotional one filled with tragedy, heartbreak, steam, romance, and taboo. I loved getting to peek into the forbidden love of Anthony and Raychel.
Steamy in ways that had you wanting more. And I mean more dialogue. I am a massive, get on your knees, now down to Alta kind of reader fan… however, Forbidden didn’t knock it out of the park for me. Around 60% it captivated my attention way more but up until then… I kept asking myself “where’s the conversation, the interactions?”
After 60% it was fast paced, and at that point I really enjoyed it. The dominance that Anthony shines with is exhilarating and the stubbornness that Racyhel exhumes is a match made perfection.
Forbidden was a quick read but with a lot of delicious heat. I could feel the tension between Raychel and Anthony as emotions get involved you can’t help but cheer for their HEA. They sizzle together and even with the age difference you can see Anthony’s protectiveness and love. An enjoyable steamy read that doesn’t disappoint.
This older man/younger woman romance kept my attention throughout the entire book with the good storyline and characters that were so well rounded that as I turned each and every page I felt like Raychel and Anthony jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story as it unfolded!
Five stars! This is a slow burn romance. Between a young woman and her late father’s best friend. But highly recommend this book. It was extremely well written, and kept my attention throughout the book.
Alta Hensley is my go to smutty, guilty read author. Forbidden was everything I expected it to be, and a little more. I like that Anthony and Raychel have a past connection, so it wasn’t insta-love.
Will their forbidden love ever see the light of day
Alta pulls you into the story of Raychel and Anthony’s forbidden love that they have hidden from each other for a long time. Anthony finally gets Raychel to let him pay for their outings and they become closer. But when Raychel didn’t purchase the winter coat that Anthony demanded, Anthony’s punishment brings up old memories of her first punishment. Will they forever allow the memory of Raychel’s father who is also Anthony’s best friend keep them apart? You have to read to find out and won’t want to put the book down!
It’s all about love, those feelings don’t care about age if you are rich or poor, good or bad. This is a daddy’s best friend book even though Raychel’s father is dead his presence is still felt. Anthony, much older, rich and mafia connected is watching over his dead best friend’s daughter. Raychel is young, innocent, and struggling to even put ramen noodles on her table. She has been in love with him since she was eighteen and he knew he had feelings for her but didn’t realize their depth. This story is almost sweet as they come to terms with their relationship, sweet except for all those spankings.
Forbidden, by Alta Hensley, is an older man/younger woman romantic drama. I received an ARC of the book and so I won’t include spelling/grammar/continuity errors in my review as I expect them to be fixed before publication.
While I won’t include writing errors in this review, I will say that this book didn’t seem as well written as other books by Hensley. Even when her stories aren’t my cup of tea, Alta Hensley’s writing is usually mesmerizing. This story just seems to lack her normal polish. The story is good, but it’s not as compelling as her other work that I’ve read.
I did like the two leads, Anthony and Raychel. These two share a past that bonds them together. There was an element of mafia culture in this book which I felt was unnecessary; it was a distraction in many ways. Anthony was definitely the more well rounded character; Raychel was a little flatter. While Raychel lacked something for me, I did find myself rooting for their happy ending.
Alta Hensley’s stories are usually complex and dynamic. This story had an interesting premise, but the execution lacked something for me. I still recommend it, but I highly recommend trying other books by her as well.
This is a safe read with no OW/OM drama and no cheating. This isn’t a dark story even with the criminal underworld plotline. It does contain explicit language and sex.
This book is definitely in a different vein from the usual Hensley books. If she is trying for a lighter genre, I’d say it’s a noble effort and I will definitely give her next attempt a try. This book might lack the intensity of her other stories, but it was a nice romance that is an easy read.

Without giving to much away I’m not sure why this topic is so taboo in our world. Both of them are consenting adults. When we look at this people are appalled. With that said its another great book by Alta Hensley. She is not afraid to write about the taboo and make it a great read as well

A father’s best friend/taboo/domestic discipline story about Raychel Polov, whose Bratva father was executed five years ago, and Anthony LaSalla, her father’s best friend. I had trouble connecting with this one. Both Anthony and Raychel are profoundly sad after Dasha’s death, as neither have any other family. Anthony has promised his best friend that he will look after Raychel if anything happens. While they meet once a month for lunch, Anthony is unaware that Raychel lives in virtual poverty. I also had trouble with the dd side of things, with Raychel being corrected for behaviour without any prior agreement. Dasha’s death five years ago still causes moral issues for the couple, and this story focuses on how they resolve this. I enjoyed the premise, and parts of the story, but didn’t have investment in the characters.
