He tempts Kat to leave her carefully laid plans behind as she falls head over tea kettle for this British playboy.
Tristan Kingsley went into the bar that night to avoid the duties of his future as a titled lord. When a gorgeous American girl kisses him on a dare from her friends, that kiss turns his world upside down. Oh, he’s used to having exactly what he wants: women, money, notoriety. But now he wants Kat. In his arms, in his bed—and the more time he spends with her, the more he wants her in his life. Tired of shallow, social climbing English debutantes, Tristan can’t get enough of his brilliant, sweet Yank.
But not everyone is happy with the situation. His father, the Earl of Pembroke, has other plans for Tristan, and getting rid of Kat is number one on the list. If you thought this was a fairytale of a girl finding her Prince—er, Earl, and living happily-ever-after…then prepare yourself for one heck of an American Revolution.

Kat was going to live an adventure somehow. Her birthday turned out to be the start. Tristan would be her whirlwind of excitement. But could she handle him as her first.
I loved this story. It was both sweet and sexy. I look forward to the next book after the ending to this one.

Forbidden (Love In London Book One) is told in third person pov which isn’t my favourite, and find more difficult to get into. I didn’t find the character’s likeable. The writing style onerous. The ending though enamored me, I hope to get a chance to listen to book two. The British culture is a intriguing and as the story progressed the more intriguing it became.
Narator Carolyn Morris inflection did meet the criteria of british accent which is great. Her performance was consistent and smooth.
First book of a series so it leaves you hanging.
The characters and their stories are beautifully written & I couldn’t stop reading this book. I did see a few small parallels to others I’ve read in the past, but this series is one I’ll read many times again. I hope to see more of Tristan & Kat.
Good story but not a free standing book..
WOW! WOW! WOW! FORBIDDEN by Lauren Smith had me at the Very Beginning of the Book and never a Dull moment page after page!! She is a New Author for me and She BLEW ME AWAY with this One! The chemistry between the two characters Kat & Tristan are Off the Charts Hot and Entertaining at the same time with their Banter plus the struggle with one another on their feelings! GAH!! HOT! HOT! HOT!
THIS IS PART ONE of a Trilogy and devour it in ONE Sitting since its So Captivating from the Start! But it will Leave you hanging and wanna know what was going to happen next!!
DEFINITELY A MUST READ BOOK AND definitely looking forward to read the Second Book- SEDUCTION.
This could have been better with more showing and less telling.
Good story line I will want to finish the series!
Love this book. The author was great at making you feel like you were experiencing the same as her main characters. The American girl who on a dare kissed who she thought was just a guy. To find out he wasn’t was one for the books. The feelings they both shared was great and the whole everyone should of been happy for them. Well we know that isn’t really life. The father was very unhappy and was going to make sure it didn’t happen. Great book and I love the fact that even when everything is stack up against you sometimes they do seem to work themselves out the way they have to be.
Loved this book!
Love this book!
Something was odd about the pace and tense of this book. I couldn’t get more than a chapter in.
I loved this book. The characters were wonderfully created and endearing. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s part of a series that almost has to be read together.
I am hooked on this series, though I have only read the first book. I loved the way the author built the characters, revealing a bit at a time of who they were and who they really were, to each other. I can’t wait to see how they continue developing through each book.
Very enjoyable read!
Highly recommend throughly enjoyed once you start reading you won’t want to put it down Tristan and Katherine have great chemistry looking forward to reading the next 2 books
A good start to this series. Though the story was short, it packed a lot into it. Not fond of cliffhangers, but can’t wait to see what happens!!
I don’t like books that don’t end the story in the first book- so be aware of that as you read this book
If you like a story about the modern day British aristocracy, this is a good one. Tristan is the wealthy heir to an earldom. He meets an American student, Katherine, at Cambridge. Initially he’s just looking for the next woman to warm his bed but then he finds himself intrigued and distracted by Kat. The story ends in a cliffhanger.
