It was only a matter of time until the truth came out.
I never thought it would come to this…
I tried, God knows I tried to stay away from her but eventually I crossed that line and broke that trust. I could no longer go back and I sure as fuck didn’t regret a single moment of it. I knew there would be hell to pay, I knew the wrath I’d be facing but I would willingly take the burns and scars … and scars just to have the love of my best friend’s sister.
If there is one person I’d willingly go to hell and back for it was…

Robinson showed there’s a reason she’s called the Queen of Angst with Complicate Me, and she continued her reign with Forbid Me. Complicate Me was Robinson’s angsty version of a friends to lovers story. Now you are given her angsty version of the forbidden story of your best friends little sister.
Jacob and Lilly’s road to their HEA isn’t one that is without its crater size potholes along the way. Jacob isn’t suppose to notice Lilly the way they he does. Especially when there’s a difference in their ages like there is. Then add in the fact that her brother is one of his oldest friends, and that just makes her off limits. Still you can’t help who your heart chooses to belong to.
Lilly knew she loved Jacob when she was just looked at as Lucas’s baby sister. And all she ever wanted was for Jacob to see her as something other than how he always saw her. Life has its way if throwing curves when all you want is for it to be straight down the middle. All the ups and downs of Jacob and Lilly’s life they wanted together will have you cursing Robinson for finding joy in ripping your heart out. With the whip lash that you will end up having just remember that Robinson will be kind enough to provide you with a neck brace in the form of an HEA.
Omg. She is killing me with these books. I waited to read and I’m kicking myself while at the same time realizing why. The angst and emotional level are through the roof. I love these characters and feel every darn thing they experience. I just can’t stop reading this series. I love Jacob. He may be my favorite. Don’t be like me. Read this now. It’s so good.
Oh my, what a book! I loved this second book in the series. I love how the author writes the story from the two highlighted characters perspective. The chapters take you back in time and also keep you in the present so that they can tell their story of a particular event in their lives but the whole book reads so fluently and it is perfect. There was everything I could ask for in this book, angst, heartache, laughter…. loved it!!
Great book. Really enjoyed the story.
This was the first book I read and of course I had to devour the rest of the series. This was a great book but just prepare yourself for some angsty romance! This tore at my heart but it was such a GOOD read!!
Bought the series loved them
This book was just amazing It just pulls at your heartstrings I downloaded the rest of the series and told my friends about this author
Love the series. You can not help but root for them to be together.
difficult to stop and I certainly read all other books related to character connected to the books. I was intoxicated! Incredibale writer.
Jacob and Lily were lobsters, but family, friends, age and sometimes circumstances kept them apart.
It was good going back to the Good Ol Boys and seeing my fav characters and scenes from the eyes of these two. You felt their love, you could feel their pain while they each went through different heartbreaks. The scenes leading up to Lily’s mom gutted me, and Jacob’s past came as a complete and utter surprise. Monica delivers high angsts and gutwrenching sadness and keeps you rooting for them till the very end.
Their story can be read as a standalone but should be read after Complicate Me for a whole experience.
I must admit when i finished Complete Me i just wanted to dive into the next book Forbid Me the way Complete Me ended you couldn’t help.
I must admit because we knew Lily from such a young age it was a little weird for me to read about her and Jacob but once you got into the heart of the story i forgot all about the age gap (which let’s be honest was not really a gap) there story was really fantastic one.
I loved both Jacob and Lily there chemistry was so good and the banter between them was so funny at times, you could tell there was something between them even if it was Jacob just looking after lily or protecting it was so beautiful to read.
Even though we went back a bit in the past i must admit that even though we had read some of the same story in Complete me it was so good to read it from Lily’s point of view especially when it came to her mums story and it broke my heart all over again.
I really really loved this story and has got me excited for the rest of the Good O’l boys stories especially with the way Forbid Me ended and know Dylan’s story next and what happens to him has got me itching for this book.
Loved loved this second book in the series and absolutely loving this series.
Forbidden love
This author definitely knows how to do angst ! Lily and Jacobs story is one of forbidden love , she’s young and underage and he’s 7 years older but they know they’re meant to be together – soul mates .
There’s plenty to of drama and inclusion of the other characters of the series .
This book alternates between Jacob and Lily’s
Point of views as well as alternating between the past and present as their story unfolds . The plot intertwined with events that happened in the first book and I thought this was handled really well, we also got glimpses of what will be in the next book of the series and has me kean to get started right away !
Loved the perspective—am now reading the next book. Same characters, continuing story, different viewpoint. Will read as long as saga continues.
One of my favorites in this trope! You could feel Jacob and Lily’s connection from a young age. The more they fought it, the stronger it because. The age gap and her being his best friends little sister were huge obstacles. He broke her again and again, yet the way their story is written so well, I wanted to fight for them myself! A book you can read again and again and it never gets old!
I absolutely adored Jacob and Lily’s story! It had me gripped from the beginning until the very end and I can truly say they are my second favorite couple in this series, next to Dylan and Aubrey! I can’t say in enough words how much I felt both their pain and love. The way the author has written the story just makes you believe every word you read; you can’t help but feel it in your soul!
Lily has been around the good ol’ boys for years but with Jacob she feels a strong connection; one that isn’t just friendship but no matter how hard she tries to fight it, she can’t help but try to get closer to him in every way she can. But Jacob doesn’t feel the same, or he tries to fight it every step of the way ‘cuz of their age difference. No matter how hard he tries to fight the way he feels, there’s something about Lily that keeps him captivated. But will it be enough to take the next step… towards each other… or will his age keep them apart…
Carrying on from where then first book left us but this one flips between present and future and is told in a dual POV. It tells of the forbidden love between Jacob and Lilley (Lucas’s little sister). Apart from being the sister of one of his best friends, there’s also the 7 year age difference to overcome.
Again this spans a couple of decades as they start their journey of forbidden love, fighting the attraction they have for each other.
I loved complicate me from the very start and I was intrigued to hear Jacob’s story. This story runs concurrent with Lucas and Alex’s story so it does repeat itself slightly but is necessary as the 5 main characters lives are interwoven through the time frame.
I love M. Robinson’s style of writing and this is the first series I have starting reading by her and I will definitely be reading her other series. She writes gritty, down to earth characters. It’s also a coming of age romance.
Whilst the book is promoted as being a stand alone, I would suggest reading them all in order due to the fact that the lives of the characters do spill over in to the other books.
Loved loved loved this book and I would definitely read again.
The story of Jacob and Lily was great, it was not as angsty and twisted as we’re used to M.Robinson stories but still a great story..
Jacob is one of the best friends of Lucas he has been around for such a long time, he and the boys were very strong together and share so many things together but Jacob and Lucas or any of the other boys didn’t expect the turn of events.. each of them thought life was different but they didn’t know life had other plans for them.. Jacob couldn’t act on his feelings he was always putting walls not to get closer as this could definitely damage the good relations between him and Lucas, but when love is strong nothing cant stop it from unfolding..
“There hasn’t been one day in the last three years when you haven’t been my first and last thought.”
Lily is just a “kid” and she has been around the boys for such a long time, all of them took care of her and protect her, to the point that they scare any boy away.. but she wasn’t interested just with any boy, she was in love with someone, someone older than her, someone that can’t be reached easily as so many things are in stacked!
“Hurting you is my biggest regret, loving you is my only redemption.”
Jacob has been fighting his feelings for Lily for such a long time, he doesn’t want to disrespect her brother or even cross a line, she is the one who keeps insisting to be together, to be closer, but no matter how many times Jacbos tries to deny this magic and his feelings he is so attracted to her now is about time to see if they can unleash these feelings for each other..
“I love you. I love you like I’ve never loved anyone before. I love you in a way I didn’t even think was fucking possible. I loved you before I even knew what it meant.”
so many things happened in life, as they grow things will keep separating them, age, family, and friends it seems like the story is about to repeat itself.. he was one of the few who didn’t want Lucas and Alexandra together seems like now the roles are about to turn..
“I need you. Do you understand me? You can’t leave me. I won’t make it without you. I love you, Lily. I love you so fucking much it physically kills me,”
Some hard situations happening with their parents can also make this relationship go away if they keep hiding things and not communicating well enough to learn what is happing between them..
“It’s always about you! What you feel, what you need, you, you, you! You don’t listen to me, you don’t hear me, and you blow me off because you think I’m a kid. I’m not a kid,”
A lot of Great characters appear in this story, we get to see more of all the other ol boys as well as to learn more about their parents and family.. Austin, Dylan, Lucas, Alex, Gisselle, and their parents..
This was another amazing story by M.Robinson and I can’t wait to read Dylan story…
Forbid Me is the second book in the Good Ol’Boys saga by M. Robinson. We the reader are finally given Jacob and Lily’s Forbidden Love Story!
7 Years……that is the difference in our ages. I am too old for her. It is too much when we are young but now….Now we are adults and to hell with what people think…what Lucas thinks. I am going after what is mine.
Jacob and Lily’s existence has been intertwined their entire lives. He has protected, comforted, and supported her whenever she needed. He was always there…Jacob her rock, her friend, her hero. It was easy in the beginning she was a kid “his kid” his best friend Luca’s little sister.
Lily began to grow into herself. She became curious, sassy and beautiful so beautiful that everyone took notice especially Jacob. She began to question her feelings for Jacob and even though shy and innocent wanted to explore them.
Jacob’s struggle is evident on every page. He is lead by his heart but his mind soon wants him to believe what he feels is wrong….forbidden. I commend M for making me the reader feel that pain and struggle. It was so powerful and overwhelming.
Jacob and Lily know that with each interaction the bond between them strengthens, sealing their fate. The attraction is undeniable and will soon overcome them. Jacob realizes this and decides to make their choice for them. He walks away…away from Lily…away from temptation…away from love. He must sever the ties.
The hurt does not fade with time. They are now adults and Lily will not be easily won over. The vulnerability, trust and innocence have been replaced with hurt, heartbreak and sass. Her love for him has been tainted by his actions and words. The damage is done. Jacob is not easy swayed and knows that he has to bring his A game to win back what is his. Actions speak louder than words and he has his work cut out for him!
Jacob and Lily own this story. You the reader can’t help but be swept up in this captivating tale of young love. I must say that Lucas had wormed his way into my heart in the first book but Jacob swept in captured and ran with it! His sweet, seductive, filthy mouth took me over the edge. He planned each action and word with precision to prove his love to Lily!
So get ready to be pulled in by their amazing story. Jacob and Lily need to be heard!
Hats off to you M. I have again fallen in love with your characters and their journey!!
I was a beta reader and provided an arc for an honest review!

Love this second book in the series!!!
Myn
This is the second book I have read in this series and they just keep getting better. I was glad most of the sexual situations in this book happened between adults and not teenagers like in the first book.
