Seventeen Years Ago. The first time Aaron Andrews saw Simon Foster smile, he knew he was in trouble. He’d never seen anything–or anyone–like the man who’d stolen his favorite seat in his favorite coffee shop.Six Weeks Ago. The late-night phone call that changed their lives forever was short. Four little words was all it took to set them on a different path–one that included new toys (not that … included new toys (not that kind), a dose of homophobia (been there), and an appreciation for spandex (though they always appreciated it . . .)
Today. That’s what Aaron and Simon are focused on as they try to plan the best birthday in the history of ever, all for the little boy who has quickly become their world. Even if that means dealing with too-tight costumes, a cape that won’t behave, a meddlesome family . . .
. . . and a past that won’t stay there.
For Today is the third book in The Avenue series, but can be read as a standalone.

A steadfast, true love. A wacky, banter loving bevy of siblings. Heartbreak and joy.
A quintessential B. Cranford book that steals your heart. A must read!
For fans of swoony M/M romance!
For Today and Always!
For Today by B. Cranford is an emotional, heartwarming and inspiring love story. Aaron and Simon will make you laugh and swoon and cry. Their relationship is one of the most beautiful and endearing that I have read. The chemistry is potent. The banter fun and substantial. Aaron and Simon are #couplegoals!
Ms. Cranford introduces us to Aaron and Simon when they are in college. She gifts the reader with the experience of their initial encounter and engulfs us into their journey over the course of a few decades. Their highs and lows are relatable. Their hopes and fears are palpable. These two souls will make you yearn for the type of love they share. The bond between them is magnificent!
For Today is a testament to the power of love. When you find love, work to nurture it, and continue to fight for it….magic happens. This love story spotlights the fact that a family is more than just one formed of our blood. A family is born of our hearts and forged by understanding and love. Aaron and Simon remind us all that love knows no race, religion, sex, or bounds. Love IS love and that IS amazing!
Sometimes when reading a story you think “I hope so and so gets a book”. Well if you’ve read any of the Avenue (and if you haven’t you need to get on that) you will know that Aaron, the oldest brother is one of those characters…. and with him comes Simon! This is a great love story that gives us the past, present and future of Si and Eagle. Fall in love right along with them and see how they got to be in the beautiful place they are now.
I’m not a huge reader of M/M but a love story is a love story and this one tugged on my heartstrings. There was more than one obstacle for our couple to tackle but they did it together and they did it well. They could teach us all a lot about relationships. ….and that picture OMG, heart smashed!
Loved it!
For Today is book three in The Avenue series by B. Cranford. This is the final book in the series and is Aaron and Simon’s story. It can easily be read as a stand alone. But, each book in this series is about a different sibling in the Andrews family and you would miss so much by not reading the previous books.
Aaron is the oldest of the three Andrews siblings. This book takes us back seventeen years to the day he first saw Simon Foster in the coffee shop. It was love at first sight. Their eyes met and he couldn’t look away. He still hasn’t. Their lives would be filled with so much joy, but also heart ache, and hardship. To be honest, I think the love these two share is bigger than any couple I’ve ever read about, no matter the gender. The way they support each other, the gentle affection they share as well as the banter and the sexy times. And I assure you that there are plenty of sexy times.
Simon has become just as much an important part of the Andrews clan as if he was born into the family. He’s kind of become the patriarch. Always the one to provide advice, the reasonable voice. I also want to mention again, as I did in the previous two reviews for the previous books, the thing that I love the most about this series is the close relationship these three siblings share. Their group texting is hilarious. No matter what is going on with any of them, though, they are there for each other. As each sibling finds love, as the families grow, so does their love.
Simon and Aaron’s life takes an unexpected turn when their family grows by one little boy. But again, love paves the way. They made the transition easy just by being the amazing men that they were. Aaron has a very unexpected tie to this little boy. A bond, an understanding that he didn’t see coming.
What an amazing book this was. It was fun and sexy and sweet and everything I hoped it would be. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the Andrews siblings. I really hope you’ll check this series out. And if you do, I hope that you’ll love this family just as much as I have.
I love M/M and this one did not disappoint. B. Cranford’s best writing to date. I adored it.
To say this was an anticipated read for me is a gross understatement. Aaron and Simon stole every scene they were in and I was beyond excited to read their story.
They both had so much more than scorching passion (although they had that in spades). They shared an epic love and were truly each other’s home and family. I loved the way they played off Aaron’s siblings (best group texts ever) and how the Andrews family rallied around Simon in his time of need. The brilliant way Beth paralleled the loss of Finn’s parents with the loss of Aaron’s was heart-wrenching and poignant. Love is love and family doesn’t always mean blood. For Today really brings home that message.
Beth Cranford is a beautiful writer and I love how she can make you laugh and cry on the same page. Can be read as a standalone but the entire series is a must read.
#eagleandsiforever 5+ stars!
I’ve never read B. Cranford before and I’m so glad I did. She took a couple who were so filled with love and made me fall in love with them. It was such a sweet story. Simon and Aaron… One of the best M/M couples out there. They had an amazing connection, scorching chemistry, and epic love. The kind of love that you can’t help but root for, from beginning to end. The way their love story unfolded was so genuine, so realistic, so honest (and so freaking hot).
The family… I don’t know what to say about the family. They were the best kind of side characters you can hope for. They are funny and so full of heart. Watching Aaron come out and the treatment he received…. It broke my heart in the worst way, but I’m so glad Simon was there.
Truly, you couldn’t help rooting for Simon and Aaron from the very beginning. The way B. Cranford captured these characters, they felt real. Like they lived off the page and you were watching their stories unfold in front of you.
B. Cranford is an amazing writer. She made my heart hurt and soar. She made me feel all the emotions and then made me chuckle. I was seriously impressed by this story, by these characters, by this author. I will definitely be checking out more from her.
I adore all of B. Cranford’s books, but I think this is the one that I was most looking forward to since starting her Avenue series!
We met Aaron & Simon in both of the first two books in this series and they simply stole the show every single time. I absolutely loved reading their story!
“Here was where he was meant to be.”
I don’t think I have ever read about two people more perfect for each other. So alike in some ways, yet so different at the same time. They were both so into family, and romance, and love.
“Because that’s what Simon was. Just for him. His.”
I seriously loved everything about this book, even when it made me cry. I loved how it was broken into 4 parts and each was about a “today”. I loved how we got to see Simon’s vulnerable side. I loved how Aaron continued his dirty mind. And most of all I loved seeing all of the Andrews clan and their significant others. Please keep giving me books with all the feels; that are fun yet sexy; that I can’t put down! (5 stars)
I always get so nervous when an m/f author writes an m/m novel–not everyone can do it well and, as they become more popular, I think there are a lot of authors that should just stick to m/f. This is not the case here. B. Cranford has given us a beautifully written story filled with love, family and heart with a good amount of heat about two men that truly belong together. If you’ve been following this series, you’ve probably been curious about this couple and she absolutely did them justice in writing their story. I just love this series and can’t wait to see what comes next.
5 Star review of For Today (The Avenue #3) by B.Cranford
This is a M/M story beautifully written that tugged at the heart strings had me invested right from the start.
Aaron and Simon have been together forever, through good times and bad. I loved them as secondary characters in the previous books in The Avenue series and was hopeful that one day we would get the story of how they came together and how they have become the mainstay of the group of family and friends.
Being together has meant that they have had many hurdles to overcome throughout their relationship, starting with the horrid rejection by Aaron’s family when he came out.
There was so much pain and, heartache within this story that I was moved to tears on several occasions. However, having said that, there was also so much love, acceptance and passion within the pages of For Today that B. Cranford balanced the read in a way only she can.
There were times when I laughed out loud and got funny looks from those around me but through it all I knew that this was a special story that was meant to be told.
For Today is a story of unconditional love., that Love is Love and family is not always made up of blood, that it can take any shape or form and this shines through in For Today.
It was wonderful to catch up on the characters from the previous books as to me it is like visiting with old friends and family.
One click now, you really don’t want to miss this story.
Nine hundred thousand billion stars for Simon and Aaron and another five billion stars for Finn.
Seventeen years ago, Simon and Aaron fell in love. Over the years they’ve a made an amazing life for themselves, a one they and their loved ones are proud of. Sure, Aaron’s parents are still colossal jerks but he’s trying to get over that detail. Then life throw them a curveball and now they have a responsibility they never thought they’d be up for.
Their lives are about to change forever with no clue what might the future hold. All they can do in live for today.
I am so much in love with this entire story and all of the characters in it. I don’t even know how to deal with myself after this book.
Aaron and Simon have to be the two most perfect for each other people in the entire history of the World. They balance and ground each other in the most important ways. I love their relationship and just their entire dynamics. I’d be 100% correct in saying that their’s is the most pure, good and balanced relationship I’ve ever read.
I am genuinely so happy and proud of having read a book that not only correctly portrays a gay relationship and also shows that the struggles of the LGBT community are very very real. B. Cranford deserves a standing ovation for writing such an inclusive, beautiful book.
Also, special mention for my little baby Finn, if he was a real kid I’d run away with him and make sure he became the president of the entire world.
Ah! I didn’t want this story to end! I love love loved Aaron and Simon. I really love this entire family. These two are sexy and witty and always have the best come back lines to embarrass anyone. I’m sad to see this series end, I loved them all so much. Looking forward to see what Beth’s new books may be! If you haven’t read her, you’re totally missing out!!
The third standalone installment of The Avenue series, For Today is an addictive and swoon worthy tale. Their story is crafted beautifully, an angsty love that is impossible to look away from. I loved every moment with Aaron and Simon.
Having seen them in the previous books in this series, I was so excited to get their story. B. Cranford knocked it out of the park, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
This book was more than I could have ever asked for. I fell in love with Aaron and Simon in About Time but never expected to get their book. They were always the best secondary characters. When B. Cranford announced she was releasing this book – I had very high expectations. I didn’t know if their story could be given justice. I didn’t know how we’d get their entire story. But goodness – Beth hit it out of the park. It was perfectly amazing. From when they met to their happy ever after – every single thing was in this book. Every moment I wanted to read and know more about. The hurt and pain and happiness and fun times. Texting with the family. Ashton and Dunk. Austin and Odie. Everything and everyone. I would highly recommend this book. I still have all the feels from it.
Those of us you love and adore romance novels, know that love is love. It comes in all forms and transcends all walks of life. When an author is able to express the joys of a life long love to the pages of a story, it warms the heart and gives the reader hope.
But Simon and Aaron story is so much more.
If you are familar with The Avenue series, we know that the main characters are in an established relationship. But what B. Cranford offers is a look at the ‘first them’, the ‘middle them’ and ‘the current day them’. Don’t worry – if you’ve not read the previous books, this one stands alone and you are able to connect the dots with all the characters. But it’s the current them that steals the story.
Family can come in all forms. For Simon and Aaron, this is the next step in evolution for their story. Although this touched me to shed a few tears, Ms. Cranford intersperses humor along the way to give you genuine connection to the characters.
I am a huge fan of B. Cranford’s writing. But this is her best work to date.
Ever since B. Cranford started The Avenue series, I’ve been waiting to hear Aaron and Simon’s story. Their story starts at the beginning and is full of love, loss, family and friendship. I laughed, I cried and I enjoyed every moment of this book. For Today was full of emotion and shows that love knows no race, no gender. Love is love. Kudos to B. Cranford for an absolutely brilliant book.
Aaron and Simon are what true love stories are made of.
From the first “meet-cute,” you can feel the chemistry between these two characters that carry them throughout the story. I knew of Aaron and Simon from the first two stories in this series, but it was so amazing to get to really know them and how their love progresses over the years. With each obstacle they face, and sadly they face so many, they grow stronger and better.
This story has a mix of humor, steam, family drama, friendship, and moments that fill your heart with both sadness and joy. You are put in each scene, in each situation, with amazing writing and a feeling that everything will be ok. Because it’s Simon and Aaron. Oh, and be prepared to fall in love with little Finn too <3
Take a chance on this book. It's a peek into a world you may or may not be familiar with. It's not pretty all the time, but it's full of love and hope.
Let me start out by saying I knew what I was going to be reading before I started. This is the story of Aaron and Simon and how they came to be together. What I didn’t know was THEIR story. Well prepare yourself to be mesmerized. From the very beginning of their meeting you are hooked into the loves of these two gorgeous beings. Oh yes, they are both gorgeous from a physical stand, but they’re so much more than just physically beautiful. Their whole being has an essence that shines from the inside out. When they met the word kismet burst into my mind. It was meant to be. It was funny and cute as anything but it was meant to be. At least that’s I think.
This book hits all the feels. It has smiles, angst, comedy, tragedy, hope, romance, it will make you angry and then flip the script and make you swoon. Don’t worry it packs the heat but it’s written in a beautiful way. Please don’t get me wrong it’s hot, but you feel the love of these two individuals every moment. Aaron, during the course of his story unfortunately, has his own family drama to deal with. It’s heart rending. On the fortunate he has family, friends and Simon to help him through. I’m not giving anything away it’s in the blurb. Simon, has a different kind of drama to deal with in his life. If I’ve learned anything in this life it’s that out of something bad comes something good. Yes, something very good comes into Simon’s life.
You will get to see all the characters you fell in love with from previous books and some you didn’t. I really enjoyed seeing them brought back. It’s like catching up with friends and family who you haven’t seen in a long time. Here’s the thing though, if you haven’t read the other books I still think this stands on it’s own. You get great background and content. So you’re not standing in the dark.
People will ask,”What trope is this book”? Many times I’m not sure how to answer that question because books are not one dimensional. They can bring everything into a story. Life’s itself brings everything into your story. So, I guess my answer is, it’s a love trope. Yes, it’s between two men. Then it’s a love trope between family and friends with trials and tribulations. This story is more than two males who fell in love. Although, being two males has a major impact on the story. They had to deal with issues of bigotry and ignorance. This is a story of survival and self love. Like I said this is so much more.
I have to wrap this up otherwise I’ll just keep blathering on about how much I love this book. To summarize let me just add if you like a book that brings all the feels then this is the book for you. If you want to see life from a different angle than what you’re probably use to, then you want this book. If you want to see true love than you will buy this book. If you believe in soulmates and destiny you will stay up all night reading this book. If you believe in boundless love…well you know the rest!
Aaron and Simon are a wonderful couple. We’d gotten to see snippets of their relationship in previous books, but it was lovely to get a deeper dive into their background (how they met – which was cute) as well as some more details on how Finn came to live with them and how they adjusted to their new family dynamic.
Emotional and sweet, there were several times I found myself getting choked up while reading. Aaron and Simon’s story was worth waiting for.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
