Seventeen Years Ago. The first time Aaron Andrews saw Simon Foster smile, he knew he was in trouble. He’d never seen anything–or anyone–like the man who’d stolen his favorite seat in his favorite coffee shop.Six Weeks Ago. The late-night phone call that changed their lives forever was short. Four little words was all it took to set them on a different path–one that included new toys (not that … included new toys (not that kind), a dose of homophobia (been there), and an appreciation for spandex (though they always appreciated it . . .)
Today. That’s what Aaron and Simon are focused on as they try to plan the best birthday in the history of ever, all for the little boy who has quickly become their world. Even if that means dealing with too-tight costumes, a cape that won’t behave, a meddlesome family . . .
. . . and a past that won’t stay there.
For Today is the third book in The Avenue series, but can be read as a standalone.

Sometimes you really just need a sweet and charming love story with no drama that just makes you feel good. You get that with For Today. I love all the great banter, friendships and love. Simon and Aaron are perfect.
The story is laid out so that we get to know them from the beginning. All the sweet references of things to come, highs and lows, love and loss not only for them but friends and family too.
It’s not only their story but a culmination of the series that gives a wonderful take on every day life with every day people that love and are loved plus the importance of family whether it is the one you are born into or the one you create that transcends color or gender.
I did so much sighing while reading this book because these two are just too adorable for words. I want to sit across from them and just gush and bask in their togetherness.
FOR TODAY spans eighteen years in the life of Aaron Andrews and Simon Foster. There’s a strong connection from the start and I appreciated that they rarely lose confidence in each other. Their bond is strong and just gets stronger over time.
The themes of acceptance and the meaning of family are explored in a meaningful manner in this book. Aaron may come from a nuclear family but his parents refuse to accept his sexuality. Conversely, Simon has few family members but the support he gets from them is never in question.
I loved the scenes between Andrew and his siblings (Ashton and Aussie) because their love and support for each other remains true and strong. The siblings, along with their partners (the main characters from the other series books) offer comic relief throughout the book but the part that made me laugh out the loudest was Aaron stepping on a Lego piece. I truly felt his pain but it didn’t stop me from laughing.
We do get to see a lot of Aaron and Simon in previous books but I did not feel this book was repetitive. It shone a different light on this loving and seriously hot relationship.
This is the 3rd book I’ve read in B. Cranford’s The Avenue series, and I haven’t been disappointed yet! This book tells the story of Aaron and Simon. It is a heartfelt, heart wrenching, steamy, and hilarious M/M romance and I just devoured it.
First off, I have loved Aaron & Simon since the first book in the series, About Time, which is about Aaron’s sister, Ashton. This family is one of my favorite things about this series. Aaron “A”, Ashton “Little” and Austin “Tiny” have the most real and authentic sibling relationship. I love their loyalty to each other, and you will see just how loyal they are in this book. They support each other through thick and thin, and will drop anything for the other one. It is so admirable! But, my favorite part of their story as siblings are the texts….OMG…they are hilarious! I was grinning from ear to ear reading these group chats, and bam…in comes Simon, and then…Odie, and then…Dunk. The Andrews siblings are a riot on their own – but add in their significant others – and it’s basically a comedy show. Their personalities are all to die for – and I feel like I have got to know them all over the course of this series.
I am so happy that Aaron finally had his story told. I always wished he was straight so I could imagine myself ending up with him. 😉 He is brilliant, charming, a huge flirt, and his innuendos….they never stop! I was giggling and blushing like a school girl whenever he spoke. But what we see in this book about Aaron is his softer side – the side that fell for Simon and never let go. They had their own ups and downs, but his loyalty and love for his partner never wavered. Oh I just fell for Aaron sooo much more in this book!
And Simon…well he is just in his own little world. His Smile….I could just picture it every time Aaron mentioned it. His compassion. His good nature. His level head. He is just what the crazy Andrews family needed….someone to ground them all. I love how he immediately fit into their family, and as much as he is always there for each of them, I was so happy to see that they were all given the chance to be there for him when it came down to it.
This book will make you laugh and cry. It is so heartwarming that it will stay with you long after you finish it. I absolutely adore these characters and hope that they make another appearance at some point because I am not ready for this series to end! Well done once again B. Cranford!
We met and fell in love with Simon and Aaron in the previous books in the series where they were solid and confident in their relationship, here we get to see their beginnings and it is so very lovely and sweet to see.
We begin with a look at their initial meeting, and all their insecurities as they develop a beautifully strong bond. There is so much love in this story, the support they give to each other is heart warming and so very cute to watch. The group messages and the inappropriate innuendo had me chuckling throughout, and seeing Finn enter their dynamic only added to the beauty of their relationship.
This book was exactly what I needed, a bit of light and fun in amongst the emotional stuff. A joy to read!
Where do I start and what can I say that hasn’t already been said before !! Well I’m starting with this is a beautifully written love story it had me feeling everything I want in a great romance and if you love M/M stories that tug on your heartstrings this is a must read…
Aaron and Simon have been together for what feels like forever and I’m so glad this author decided to give us their story because let’s be honest who can resist teasers like “I’ve loved you since you stole my seat” and that’s where it all began for this wonderful couple. For Today is book 3 in The Avenue Series but it actually takes us back to Simon and Aaron’s first meeting and their journey up to today.
Best friends are always important to us but it’s when your best friend is also your lover you realise they are the most important person in your life and this book is all about important people and important stages we go through when we embark on love, it has all the feels, you will laugh, you will cry and you will get angry for everything these guys go through on their journey to their HEA. It was great to catch up with characters I had fallen in love with from previous books but please remember this book can be read as a stand-alone though I’m sure if this is your first B. Cranford book you will be clambering for more. This book will certainly be on my best read list of 2018 and once again I’m just going to say this is a MUST READ!!!!
ALL THE FEELS!! I was already a bit in love with Simon and Aaron after reading the previous books in this series. It was wonderful to get to see how they met and fell in love and how they dealt with the obstacles that were put in their way.
“Simon spoke again, “How did you know I needed you?” his head turning on the pillow beneath him, his brown eyes begging for an answer.
Which Aaron gave, as simply as he could. “Because I needed you, too.”
The story is at times sweet, swoony, fun and even heartbreaking. (Evidenced by me crying on an airplane!) But at all times from the moment they meet Aaron and Simon are there for each other and prove the power of their love to overcome whatever life deals them.
“Tiny: So, you nervous? …
A: No.
A: Wait. Yes.
A: No, wait. No. Definitely not.
Little: He used to be indecisive, but now he’s not so sure.”
Just going to put this out there…The awesome and very often extremely inappropriate group texts between the Andrews siblings and their significant others are worth the price of the book!!
-5+Stars!-
I volunteered to read this story for an honest review and loved it! M/M is not my preferred read but this book was so well written it was amazing!
Simon and Aaron are Amazing. Together they are perfectly HOT, perfectly SWEET and perfectly ROMANTIC. They meet in college and begin their life together. They grow together, learn together and raise a family together. When tragedy strikes they form their own family as well. Even facing the homophobic mindsets of family and strangers they persevere and grow stronger together. If M/M relationships aren’t your thing then please don’t read. This book is a beautiful love story.
For Today is Highly Recommended!
I have always wanted Aaron’s and Simon’s story, I couldn’t be more in love with it, and I couldn’t be more in love with the couple as well.
For Today by B. Cranford is a book based on Aaron and Simon Foster-Andrews’ journey as a couple, from the very first moment they got together, to where they are now. It was naturally funny, and I loved reading Aaron’s and Simon’s history, and of how perfect they were together. I loved reading their story of their everlasting love. It was so beautiful.
Another thing I have to say about For Today is that it was beautifully written. It dealt with themes such as death, grief, homophobia and also relationships within the familial circle. It was interesting to see the different backgrounds of both Aaron’s and Simon’s family, and they differed in the way of dealing with homosexuality – there was plenty of angst around this subject, but I’m glad to see it in the book as it showed both aspects of how people reacted to sexual identity. It’s definitely eye-opening.
The story just completely swept me and my heart from our feet. I just could NOT get enough of it! Since reading the first book of the series, Ashton’s story, ‘About Time’, I have become a HUGE fan of this author’s work, and I mean big. I just feel so privileged to read Simon’s and Aaron’s, and I loved reading the story that made them the perfect couple they are.
What a brilliant story for a brilliant couple!
