I fell in love with Gavin Dunn when I was twelve. All it took was one game of spin the bottle and I was ruined. One kiss, and three seconds, and no matter how many boys I kissed, they didn’t make me feel like he did.The problem? He belonged to my best friend.I kissed him first. She kissed him last.He once chose me, and I chose her. When everything in my life goes wrong, somehow he’s always there to … life goes wrong, somehow he’s always there to make it right. And as my best friend pulls away, he finds ways to get closer. I know that we are just waiting for three seconds before everything changes again.

This book is worth all 5 stars and more. I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. C.Lymari does it again, she’s created an emotionally gripping story that within the first few pages, you’re hooked
Gavin and Scarlett are two of the most intense characters I’ve met. There’s a unique bond between their hearts that nothing or no one can shake. There’s soul mates and then there’s what these two have and I want it.
There’s so much that can be said about this book, I could be go on and on. The things that stand out the most, are the wisecracks, the build up and the writing.
Gavin and Scarlett’s chemistry is obvious but it’s also scorching. Listen to me, Gavin may be called the football god in school but off the field he’s a god between the sheets
The supporting characters in this book were also great. They made me laugh so much, they were supportive, interesting and entertaining.
Overall this is great book that is thought provoking and nothing I repeat nothing can compare to how this book will leave you at the end.
I’ve been a fan of C. Lymari’s books since the first HOCO book and holy crap this one might be my favorite!!!
Gavin is just…Gah!!! I love him I’ve claimed him and since Claudia is the author I don’t have to fight her for him.
This book had be having all kinds of theories and wanting to stab a B! I swooned, I raged, I played detective and maybe plotted a character or twos death.
This book is a total touchdown and you need to 1-click it today.
I loved Scarlett and Gavin and their slightly forbidden romance story. Right or wrong, three seconds stolen at a time built a love that can’t be denied or forgotten. One night of giving in for more than three seconds changes everything. Going to college in separate locations helped for a bit. But when Scarlett’s brother gets a coaching job she follows him to finish college there. The downside is she isn’t sure she is ready to face her past in The form of Gavin and ex best friend, Gigi. When the school year starts Gav and Scar are enemies, denying their feelings and the truth about everything that happened and why it all fell apart. But now that Gav has her back in his sights he realizes he can’t let her get away again, he’ll do whatever it takes to make the girl he’s been in love with since he was just a kid his… forever.
Omg this book just absolutely destroyed me! But in a good way.
I have loved everything C. Lymari has written and she killed it with this one. It was totally different from her other books and just incredible.
Without giving too much away, cuz let’s me honest you all need to read this one, Scarlett broke my heart. Oh this poor girl. I felt everything she was going through.
Then Gavin, man I had some doubts about him but I loved him. He was such a sweetheart. But some of the things he did I didn’t like but he definitely made up for it in the end.
5⃣
recommendation
This is my first Lym book, and I adored it.
The story was sad with heavy themes. At first impression, I didn’t like Cristina, but that quickly changed. My God, this girl was in pain. When Erza came in the pic, and I found out she had a thing before I immediately felt for her.
I love books were guys finally open their eyes and see what’s always been in front of them. And oh boy did Erza see. He was confident, gentle, and the way he was there for Cristina had me swooning.
When he read her diary…I. Was. Not. Okay.
Ezra was going through his own things, and he still took that and Cristina demons and slayed.
I didn’t see some of the twists, and that epilogue. Shit, I need the next book now.
I loved the story. Lym has a poetic way to tell a sad tale full of second chances and redemption.
This book had me guessing and speculating the whole way. I couldnt get to the next page fast enough to figure out how all of the pieces fit together, how the past and present were finally going to meet up. Omg when they finally did… I had cried tears of sadness, anger, and absolute sweetness. The frustration was definitely worth the final answers. Pick this book up and find a spot to curl up uninterrupted until you can finish it because it is like a box of girl scout cookies, ready to be devoured.
“It was supposed to be you, he whispered.”
This sport romance was a heart wrenching and angst. The story focused more in Scarlett’s POV, but Gavin’s POV was brief and concise. Scarlett had my heart broke. At an early age she lost her parents and was cared for by her older brother, Nate. The loss she suffered kept her dragging the guilt and plunged into loneliness and bleakness. Her best friend, Gigi gave her support, but something happened between them and the friendship ended. Sometimes, not everything is as it seems…
Gavin lived in love with Scarlett. One moment, one second, two, three, it became an opportunity to consummate that love. However, certain circumstances led them to separate. A second opportunity presented itself but not before they facing some obstacles.
C. Lymari writing style is smooth. The way she showcases this emotional story is great! She highlighted the overcoming of a tragedy and the importance of having the unconditional love of the immediate family.
I loved Nate and I wish he had his own story. He was so protective and supportive. I need it!!!!
***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED***
The angst in this had me going out of my mind. I swear, my heart was going to explode out of my chest. It’s a second chance romance with so much more thrown in. There’s some suspense and mystery along with the romance that had me on edge. This had me on a rollercoaster and I might have even felt a little murderous of some of the characters.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book wrecked Me and put my heart together page by page Three Seconds at a time.
I love all of C. Lymari’s books but I think this is her best one yet. This book made me feel so many emotions at once that I literally had heart palpitations throughout the whole book(YES THIS BOOK IS THAT GOOD).
Scar and Gavin’s story is Epic, two people that were meant to be together but couldn’t.
Gavin was my perfect Hate/Love boyfriend. He was a total dutch that I love so much because regardless of his tough exterior he had a good heart.(Did I mentioned super HOT too?)
Scar was my favorite girl, who carried so much guilt and pain with her. She doesn’t know how truly beautiful and strong she is.
Their relationship is tested from the very beginning and honestly their journey its not a pretty or easy one but a beautiful one at the end.
SO YES, THIS BOOK IT’S A MUST READ!!!!
This book had my emotions ALL over the place. The highs and lows in this story had my nerves frayed – but I wouldn’t have it any other way because that’s what great books do.
For Three Seconds is told by both Scarlett’s and Gavin’s POV and its hot, angsty, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and did I say hot? Because Gavin and Scarlett together??? Scorching! This story also had me feeling very stabby because, well, certain characters and situations kept pissing me off!
I am a HUGE fan of C. Lymari’s writing style!
Her stories unfold in layers and she takes you on the same ride as the characters. If they are happy, so are you. If they bleed, you do too. I find myself constantly trying to figure out what’s going to happen before it happens and she holds just enough back that I’m usually wrong but the way she does it works so well in her stories. It never fails that I want to devour her stories in one sitting.
If you love angst, For Three Seconds is a definite must read!
Oh my gosh this book!! This book! Talk about emotional angst. I didn’t know what to expect with For Three Seconds and I honestly fell in love with the story. Gavin and Scarlett’s story broke my heart in two and slowly throughout the story it pieced back together.
Scarlett and Gavin’s story is not conventional and they were friends with never the right timing to be together. Scarlett was loyal to her best friend and that made a huge road block for her and Gavin. After an unfortunate tragedy strikes in Scarlett’s life everything gets turned upside down. This book will make you think who are truly your friends and have your back and who you need to rethink about having in your life. This book is about second chances and never giving up on true love and I for one loved every second of this book. It had heart and these characters will command your attention. I can’t wait for another one of her books!!
This book is the first book I’ve read by this author this it was a powerful read.
Imagine all it took was 3 seconds to completely change your life.
What would you do ?
Scarlet ‘ Scar ‘ has had a tough time. After her parents died she felt to blame, she felt very guilty. Nick is her brother and he’s all she has left after their parents deaths. Scarlet suffers from nightmares and has therapy. Scarlet has been in love with someone she felt she could never have. The kiss.
Gavin ‘ Gav ‘ was dating Scarlet’s best friend Gigi. Only Gavin has only ever had eyes for Scarlet, he’s been in love with her as long as he has known her.
Gigi was Scarlet best friend but she didn’t feel like she could be friends with her anymore because she was in love with her boyfriend, and Scarlet was scared of her feelings.
This story has alot of tragedy in it and Scarlet goes through alot and I really feel for her. This book is quite emotional and there is a lot of troubled times. These two both fight there feelings for each other alot.
I always love epilogue at the end of the book and I love to see where the characters are now, the author brought them to life awesomely and I kind of feel like I knew them.
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is Now Live.
“I gave my body to Gavin Dunn, wishing like hell it could have been my heart.”
I say this every time, but this is my favourite book from C. Lymari yet. Scarlett and Gavin, two people who had such a strong, magnetic pull to one another, but could never be. Their story was soooo full of angst! I felt pretty much every emotion it’s possible to feel when I read this. My heart broke for them both, and all I wanted was for things to finally work out, so they could be together.
The story aside, let’s talk about Gavin. Every one of C. Lymari’s stories has a sexy, swoony man, and Gav was no exception. A hotttt, cocky asshole, who has a caring heart underneath that exterior Then we have Scarlett. I loved her, the depth of character, and the pain she went through had me rooting for her, wanting her to face her demons and come through the other side stronger and wiser.
And then. We have. Gigi. Let’s just say, I have my homemade shank prepared.
I loved this book SO much. Do yourself a favour and READ IT!
For Three Seconds is such a fantastic but heartbreaking read. I loved every minute of Gavin and Scarlett’s story.
Gavin and Scarlett have had feelings for each other since they were twelve years old but Scarlett’s best friend Gigi also had feelings for him so for a long time Scarlett stepped back.
Then one night after prom Scarlett ran away.
Now a couple of years later Scarlett is back at college, the same college as Gavin.
Could this be there second chance?
A great book that will have you on one emotional rollercoaster but is 100% worth it.
The story of Gavin and Scarlett was hard, it wasn’t rainbows and unicorns and I love books that push you and put you through the emotional wringer. When they cried, I cried. When they felt heart break, my heart was shattering with them. C Lymari takes you on a rollercoaster ride with the twists and turns that I should’ve seen coming but I didn’t.
A story of second chances, lies and deceit.
When your past collides with your present, can you with stand the storm and find your second chance at happiness? Read For Three Seconds to find out! A must read.
From YA angst to NA angst and everything in between.
So I devoured this book in a day! I absolutely loved Scarlett and Gavin. The three second theme was there throughout. There will be times that Gavin drives you insane, but it was so realistic to how young immature love would be that you understood his reactions. And Scarlett sacrificing for a best friend who SO did NOT deserve it – that was beyond heartbreaking at times.
These two go through so much and it’s tough sometimes to see how they will get past it. Love turns to hate; betrayals happen; friendships are lost; new friendships are gained. This book just captures all of this so well.
You know by the blurb that this will be angsty, and it was, but I never felt it was over the top and all was justified based on the circumstances and age of the participants. This is messy love to the tenth degree.
Definitely one you don’t want to miss if you like some angst with your romance.
Here are some of my favorite quotes:
“‘It was supposed to be you,’ he whispered.” Oh my heart!!
“She gave me her body, and then she turned her back on me. I needed to get my head in the game, so I let her go.” Tough but true.
“‘Looks like I’m still in there.’…’You always were,’ I whispered. His eyes flashed with surprise. ‘But then you made sure to ruin it.'” Sad but true again.
“‘Until I know I’m in here, Scar…’ He brought his hand to my chest right where my heart was beating like crazy.” Sighing swoon.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
