For Their Child’s Sake is a wonderful second-chance love story, written by the wonderful romance author Jules Bennett. This story is about addiction, medical conditions, heartbreak, trust, and love…
Sam has overcome a prescription pill addiction, but not after Tara has already decided it had gone too far and she wanted a divorce. After a playground accident, they both agree that their daughter Marley must come first…even if that means allowing Sam back in the house.
This story is another very well written book by Jules Bennett, with great characters (Sam, Tara, and their daughter, Marley) and the storyline is smooth and perfectly progressive. I really enjoy Jules Bennett’s writing style! This is easy to read and very enjoyable! I would definitely recommend it with 4.5 stars!
For Their Child’s Sake is the final in the Return to Stonerock series but can also be read as a stand alone story. This is a wonderfully written, emotionally charged story of the lengths a parent will go to protect their child. This is also a story of tough love, redemption, and the second chance to redeem a true love lost. After being kicked out of his home and marriage, Sam entered rehab and is now clean and trying to repair the damages he as done to his family. Tara had to make a tough decision and is now scared of Sam having a relapse but must pretend everything is okay to help her daughter heal. The story that follows is filled with a gamut of emotions that will have the reader fully involved in the storyline.
I received an advanced reader copy but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
“For Their Child’s Sake” by Jules Bennett is book three of her Return to Stonerock series and is a second chance romance featuring Sam and Tara Bailey.
When their daughter, Marley, takes a tumble and suffers from partial amnesia, Sam and Tara have to pretend the past year of their lives hasn’t happened. Which means Sam will have a chance to prove he isn’t the same man he was before and Tara has to decide if she can risk loving him again.
“For Their Child’s Sake” deals with addiction that, in today’s world, a lot people have either gone through or know someone who has and, because of the subject matter, can make this book difficult to read at times.
Getting their family back!
I found this book to be an emotional read. Sam has decided to do whatever he can to get his family back after his life goes off the rails from an unexpected addiction to drugs. But Sam’s wife Tara is not ready to trust Sam even though he refuses to give up on them. When their daughter Marley is in a accident, Sam and Tara come back together for their family.
This book shows how easily someone can become addicted to drugs and how that addiction can mess up everyone’s lives. The author explores the issues with a deft hand while showing how a strong character and love can overcome any setback.
Sam and Tara have fought the good fight to keep their marriage together. Over a year ago Tara had enough and told Sam he couldn’t come home anymore. His addiction had destroyed their family and she had to protect their child. Sam walked away and into rehab and now wants his family back.
Tara never stopped loving Sam but that doesn’t mean she is ready to just give in and let him back home again. When a playground accident forces them back together again, as a family, will she be able to hold strong to her convictions?
Sam has been waiting for an opportunity to prove to Tara that he is a changed man. Moving back into the house with his 2 favorite girls is just that moment. He will do whatever it takes to prove he is now able to take care of his family the way he should have been all along.
Sam, Tara and Marley navigate their new normal, while trying to put all the pieces of their family back together again. Return to Stonerock in this powerful story that addresses current day situations like addiction and amnesia. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy, all opinions expressed are my own. Return to Stonerock with this family working on their second chance.
Different story than most.
I loved the freshness of this story. Sam had an addiction that cost him his family. Tara had to draw a hard line in the sand to get Sam to really see he needed help. Fast forward a year and now they have to keep up a front of being a happy family for their child. This has a ton of ups and downs, some want to shake the characters moments, and some relations that, in some instances were too fast in coming (which I understood).
All in all a wonderful story.
