Can a hockey hunk teach a yoga instructor to be more flexible? “Kelly Jamieson is an auto-buy for me.”—New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips Harrison Wynn Even though I’m the oldest player on the farm team, I’m playing my heart out this year to prove that I have what it takes to compete in the NHL. Everyone expects me to live up to my dying hockey hero dad’s legacy, but my chances … dying hockey hero dad’s legacy, but my chances are receding every season.
What I need is to focus, but the team’s new yoga instructor is a major distraction; I’ve had my eye on her from the first time we met.
Except she’s not interested—okay, maybe actively disinterested—since I accidentally dumped her into the ocean during our paddleboard yoga class.
How can I prove to her—and to the NHL—that I’m worth taking a chance on?
Arya Ross

Yoga is my priority; it helps me center myself and heal my soul.
But I can’t turn down the once-in-a-lifetime offer to be the personal yoga instructor for the local hockey team.

Great love stories have one thing in common: the author’s exquisite ability at storytelling. “FOR THE WIN” transforms from a simple love story to one that enraptures readers with it’s emotion, conviction, and vitality. Beautifully written this book is a insta-must read, and one you won’t be able to put down.
This is Harrison Wynn “Harry” and Arya Ross’s story. And what a story it is. Harry falls in love at first sight with the beautiful yoga instructor, and Arya falls for him too, when the handsome hockey player/yoga student accidentally dumps her into the ocean during her paddle board yoga class.
Harry is struggling, trying to prove he has what it takes to be in the NHL. Trying to live up to his hockey hero father. He wants to make his father proud. He wants to have it all. And he wants it all with Arya. These two sizzle with their scorching-hot, mind scrambling kisses and sizzling chemistry. Arya, is charmed by the sexy, irresistible Harry but she keeps pulling back, reluctant and secretly worried about all of his attention due to something in her past. But with Harry’s love and his intensity to win her over. Will she give in and trust Harry with her secret and her self doubt? Will she be able to put her past behind her, for a future with Harry?
But this story is so much more than a love story. It is the continued story about the Wynn Family, and their struggle as a large dysfunctional, but caring family, as they deal with the recent devastating diagnosis of patriarch Bob Wynn. Heartwarming and touching as progress is made towards family reconciliation, as understanding, love and compassion unite them. So anxious to see what the next book in this series holds.
Received an early copy in exchange for an honest review
Both Harrison and Arya are dealing with their own problems and trying to put their past behind them so they’re alike in so many ways. But Arya has trust issues and we find out she has good reason. Harrison is persistent though and has his own goals he is working towards. It was fun getting to see these two work towards their own goals while trying not to give in to each other. I like the family aspect as well even when they have their own issues. I ended up sitting through the whole book to be able to read it in one sitting. It’s that good.
Kelly Jamieson is on a winning streak with book four in the Wynn Hockey series, For the Win. This is Harrison Wynn’s and Arya Ross’ story. I was looking forward to their book. I was not disappointed. Harrison plays left wing. He was recently called up from the AHL to play for the California Condors. Arya is a yoga instructor. She teaches a stand-up paddle board yoga class where she met Harrison in a prior book. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
Harrison is a likable character. He was dealing with a lot of stress in this story. He had a two-way contract, so he was going back and forth between the AHL and NHL. He had the pressure of living up to his father’s name as a hockey player. Top that off with his family dealing with the possibility that his dad has Alzheimer’s. When Harrison met Arya, it was love at first site. Unfortunately, Arya had a horrible experience that left her not wanting to date. He sets out with numerous creative ways to win her over. This book had me laughing and crying.
Kelly Jamieson continues to do a spectacular job with this series. The characters are well-developed and grow. The Books build on each other. They are skillfully written and hard to put down. I’m looking forward to Jackson’s and Molly’s story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
3.75 stars–FOR THE WIN is the fourth instalment in Kelly Jamieson’s contemporary, adult WYNN HOCKEY erotic, romance series focusing on the Wynn family. This is twenty-six year olds, NHL hockey player Harrison Wynn, and yoga instructor Arya Ross’ story line. FOR THE WIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Harrison and Arya) FOR THE WIN follows two paths including the building romance and relationship between NHL hockey player Harrison Wynn, and yoga instructor Arya Ross, and the illness that is slowly robbing the family patriarch of his mind. Arya Ross moved to California to get away from her past. As a yoga instructor Arya is able to relax and start a new life but meeting hockey player Harrison Wynn forces Arya to look beyond the past, and into a possible future but Harrison is completely unaware of the ghosts that haunt our story line heroine, ghosts about which Arya refuses to talk. As their relationship begins to bloom, Harrison finds himself making one mistake after another, mistakes about which he, once again, is completely unaware. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Arya and Harrison, and the fall out as Arya pushes Harrison out of her life.
Meanwhile, former star hockey player, and team owner Bob Wynn is battling a daily struggle with a debilitating disease. Although his wife Chelsea has kept secret many of the smaller issues, questionable financial transactions and missing money are tearing the family apart. With the truth come questions, questions that no one is able to answer.
The relationship between Arya and Harrison is one of immediate attraction but Harrison and his friends push Arya out of her comfort zone. Arya is hired as the new yoga instructor for the NHL’s California Condors, a position that places Arya in the direct line of fire for Harrison’s advances and growing love but Arya continues to struggle with demons from the past, and in this, their lack of communication set the couple up to fail. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including the large extended and slightly dysfunctional Wynn family: patriarch Bob Wynn and his wife Chelsea; GM of the Condors Theo Wynn; Theo’s brother and hockey player for the Long Beach Golden Eagles JP Wynn, as well as numerous brothers and nephews including Matthew and Mark Wynn from Bob’s first marriage: Mark’s son Jackson; Harrison’s twin brother Asher, Noah and their sister Everly. We are introduced to Arya’s roommate Taj, and his boyfriend Ziggy, as well as the introduction of several members of the California Condors.
FOR THE WIN is a story of family, friendships, secrets and struggle; of one woman’s battle with the demons from her past, and the lack of communication that threatens the growing love between our leading couple, and in this I struggled with Harrison’s acceptance of blame when, in fact, he had no idea of what happened or why, or how the simplest gestures set off our story line heroine. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance struggles in the face of secrets and Arya’s inability to reveal the truth,
This is the 4th novel in this amazing series and is Harrison and Arya’s story. This is a beautifully written story which has great family dynamics, and is a fun, entertaining and heart-warming sports romance which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive and riveting page turner. I highly recommend for all.
Wynn series continues with family’s funny, always happy guy Harrison’s story. I love this series and can’t get enough of it. I am dying to know how the family drama going to end and if the family dynamics will continue to change. With each book something reveals and I love and hate the suspense 🙂
Harrison plays for Condors’ farm team but because of his contract he keeps going back and forth between Condors and the farm team. He is supportive, funny, loyal and super cute. When he is called up to Condors, this time he wants to stay on the team but he is his worst enemy. He believes everyone expects him to live up to his hockey legacy dad and puts too much pressure on himself, his self doubt keeps getting in the way of his success . Also, his plan on focusing just hockey goes down the drain the moment, team’s new yoga instructor make an appearance in the training room. Arya Ross is working hard to adapt new city and her new life. Leaving everything behind and moving to CA was a huge step for her. She has to many struggles to get over but she is doing her best. She loves teaching yoga and her classes getting popular, with the new addition of a professional hockey team as a client she is super happy and excited. Harrison has a huge crush since the first time he sees Arya and he decides she becoming their yoga instructor is a good opportunity for him to pursue her. However, because of what Arya been through, she doesn’t trust her judgement when it comes to men and lasting she is looking forward is to get involve with someone. Of course Harrison makes it super hard to say no. Thanks to Harrison’s tenacious behavior, they start spending time together which helps Arya slowly start trusting and opening up. However, both Arya’s past issues and Harrison’s insecurities takes them to a bumpy ride. It was inspiring to see them overcome their struggles.
I love and really enjoyed to see how Kelly Jamieson expresses the importance of the family since the beginning of the series. I am really curious about Asher’s story, I really want to understand why he didn’t want to play professional hockey. Was it because he really didn’t want to or because he thought he wasn’t good enough to compete with the family legacy? But I think I need to wait a bit to get that story. From how this book ended, I think Jackson is the next Wynn, we will be reading about. Also, I am really curious about some of the Condors players like Archie and Bergie, do you guys think maybe Kelly Jamieson will make a surprise and start a new series for Condors?
For the Win was a sweet, inspiring, funny and emotional read that I couldn’t put down until I was done with it and I went back and re-read it again 🙂 I cannot wait to read the next book of the series.
Would I recommend this book: Yes
Would I re-read this book: Already did
Would I read future books by this author: Yes
A sexy hockey player with a gentle soul! With the fourth book in her always exciting Wynn Hockey series, Kelly Jamieson brings us Harrison’s story and it more than satisfies!
Harrison is sweet, sexy and just downright nice. He just wants to live up to his family hockey dynasty name and play for the NHL, but his luck keeps leaving him on the farm team time and again. Maybe this time will be the ticket to the life he’s always dreamed of. He just needs to keep his head in the game and off of the yoga instructor who he knows is “the one” from the first time he lays eyes on her.
Arya is an easy character to get behind. She’s trying to live her best life as she heals from a past trauma and tries not to let it continue to control her, but it’s hard to know who to trust. This hockey guy seems nice … but can she trust her own judgement anymore?
I highly recommend this book and the entire series. It’s not only high impact hockey, but heartfelt romance and a bit of ongoing family saga along the way. I’m really enjoying it and looking forward to the next book!
I can’t get enough of the Wynn Family. This series is packed full of hockey goodness and the crazy Wynn family and I loved Harrison’s story.
Harrison and Arya were previously introduced in the series. Harrison being a Wynn and Arya being the yoga instructor. A hockey player doing yoga? Yeah, Harrison isn’t the most graceful when he first starts out.
There is an instant attraction for Harrison, he goes all in when it comes to Arya. There is something about her that he is drawn to, so when she finally gives in to his advances and he gets to see more of her, he only falls deeper. Arya is a little hesitant when it comes to Harrison. She is still struggling with what happened in her past, but she knows that she needs to try to date again and Harrison quickly shows that he isn’t a bad guy.
I loved the chemistry between Harrison and Arya from the start, but when they both are on the same page it is explosive. Arya, I wanted to hug the girl and I was cheering for her because she is a survivor. She moved half way across the country and started her life over after a horrible event. It isn’t easy to uproot your life, especially when you are still living in some fear. Harrison is hard working, he is out to prove that he isn’t just coasting and relying on his name when it comes to hockey.
If you’re a fan of hockey romances For the Win and the rest of the Wynn series is a MUST READ!
Great addition to the Wynn Hockey series. Harrison is my new favorite Wynn. What’s not to love about a sexy, sweet and charming hockey player. He and Arya had undeniable chemistry. Loved that Arya was able to not allow her past to dictate her future. Can’t wait for the next visit to the Wynn Family. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
As hard as it is to believe, this was my first book by Kelly Jamieson. Me, lover of Hockey Romance Reads with a borderline obsession for them, has never read a book by this author. What can I say, I’ve been living under a rock.
“For the Win” did not disappoint. Harrison is a good looking, sexy, goofy, big hearted, lovestruck hockey player. Arya is a shy, quiet, beautifully damaged yoga instructor. The two meet when Harrison is dragged to one of her classes and he makes quite the impression behaving like a a besotted lovestruck fool. From this point on he becomes laser focused on getting the woman he’s decided is going to be his future wife.
Harrison is the ideal main character because once he sets his mind to it, he focuses his energy and attention on getting the girl, and get her he does.
A great introduction to Kelly’s books, I look forward to reading more by this author. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
I received a free copy of this bI received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
4.5 stars
As part of the Wynn family, hockey is in the blood. Harrison Wynn has a lot more to prove because of od his name. He just wants to play hockey. That is until he sees Arya Ross, the hot yoga instructor. And now he has to prove to her that he is more than just a hockey player.
Arya Ross has something to prove to herself. She has to prove that she can move from her past and date Harrison Wynn. She really likes him but can she tell him about her past and not lose him? Can Harrison accept her past and they build a relationship together?
This story and the whole series is great. Each book is about another family member and the drama with a family hockey dynasty. Author Kelly Jamieson has a way with hockey men and the women they love, even the Wynn lady’s story was great. So if you love a great sports romance, then this series is for you.
**Wicked Reads Review Team**
This author sure knows how to tell a romance set amongst hot hockey players in fact I would have to say she is amongst the best in this field and For the Win book 4 in the Wynn Hockey Series was everything I have come to expect and so much more.
We first met Harrison and Arya Ross in Win Big and I was excited to see how their story panned out, the chemistry was sizzling in that book but in this one it’s off the charts !!!
Harrison Wynn is everything you want to love in a man, he’s hot, he’s funny and goofy but most of all he is sweet and open to trying anything that’s asked of him but there’s a lot going on in his life and maybe it’s the wrong time to start a relationship but we don’t always have control over our feelings and our heart often rules our head…..
A couple with many hurdles to cross before they find their HEA will their journey make or break them.
The Wynn family is complicated but nothing will break the loyalty and love this family share and that’s one of the reasons I love this series so much, this book also deals with real life issues that although sometimes hard to read about we can relate to them and that’s makes this story a bit more real. I was touched on so many levels by Arya and Harrison story and it’s certainly a book I highly recommend to all Hockey lovers as well as all romance lovers.
Full steam ahead takes on a whole new meaning when describing a Kelly Jamieson novel. Harrison and Arya are hot enough to set the heart racing, the hormones raging and tempers flaring. Prepare for an uphill battle that will turn up the heat with a bit of hard to resist charm.
I absolutely love this series and For the Win is a wonderful addition to it! Self-imposed family expectations are Harrison Wynn’s driving force. After all, the Wynn family is hockey royalty. However spending most of his time on the Condor’s farm team is a huge hit to his confidence. Finally called up to the Condors it seems he may get a chance to prove he is worthy to stay if he can get out of his head. It is there where he meets Arya Ross, a yoga instructor who is just trying to find peace in her life, as she still wrestles with a traumatic event from her not so distant past. Harrison is gobsmacked from the get-go and diligently pursues Arya. They start seeing each other and seem to be doing great but he doesn’t realize that his hot pursuit is not always welcome because of the past she has told him nothing about. So despite what seems to be a good thing they have going, at times Arya pushes him away and it causes a rift in their budding romance. There is also some difficult family drama that Harrison has to deal with. I do love how all the Wynn’s come together for this though. But with better communication and the growing feelings they have, they can get through anything to find their HEA.

I have enjoyed all of the books in Kelly Jamieson’s Wynn Hockey series so far and For the Win was no different!
Harrison Wynn has always felt like he has a lot to live up to. Due to the family he was born into, that is true, but he tends to put more pressure on himself than he even realizes. While he’s got a ton of talent, there is something that is holding him back. He’s been given his chance to prove himself in the NHL, so that is what he sets out to focus on. That is until Arya comes into his life.
Arya Ross is working hard to get settled into her new life, in her new city. She’s teaching yoga and that is what she wants to focus on. She went through an experience that has made her less than open and the last thing she’s looking for is any kind of romantic entanglement. When she’s given the opportunity to teach yoga to the local professional hockey team, she takes it.
Harrison is taken with Arya the first time he sees her. While she rebuffs his advances, he decides he’s going to work overtime to try to impress her and get her to go out with him. They do begin to spend time together, but will the intense, albeit in many ways sweet, way that Harrison pursues Arya going to do more harm than good due to the things she’s gone through in the past?
This story dealt with real-life issues and I thought that Jamieson did a fantastic job with it. Unfortunately there are far too many women who have experienced what Arya did in the book and I appreciate that a light has been shined on it in this book. I really enjoyed both Harrison and Arya and this was another great addition to this series!
I was so excited for Harrison and Arya! We met them both briefly in previous books in the series. Their chemistry was subtle at first, given a past experience of Arya’s. It sure was fun watching them slowly simmer and then full-on boil!
But, with any story where someone was hurt and is trying to deal with the backlash, you keep waiting for the other sore to drop. Will he screw up? Will she? Will they both play a part in their possible demise?
5 stars says you should find out!!
More of the Wynn Family!
Hockey player Harrison Wynn is the oldest player on his farm team when he was called up again for the Santa Monica Condors because of injuries to other players when he met yoga teacher Arya Ross at stand-up paddleboard yoga. Harrison didn’t make a good impression the first time he met her but when she was hired by the team to help improve their flexibility because they need all the help they could get to make the playoffs for the first time in years. Arya had moved to California to get away after being attacked by a stalker that claimed she was his future wife and when Harrison said the same phrase causing all problems with him trying to date Arya.
I really like For the Win because you get more about members of the Wynn family and the problems with Harrison’s dad and the rest of the family. The main part of the story is still the romance between Harrison and Arya that still has the groveling part when he screws up trying to date Arya.
P.S. You need to buy everything Kelly Jamieson writes!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Coming from a Hockey family, Harrison feels the pressure of being the best of the best. When he is told he needs to put in greater effort to stay in the league he throws himself into giving everything his all and not taking no for an answer. When Arya, a beautiful yoga instructor is hired to work with the team, Harrison feels he has found the woman he is going to marry. Remaining just friends is not on his agenda, but it is not until the secrets from her past come out does he second guess his actions on and off the ice. Can the two work through the baggage they both bring in order to find happiness? Or has he messed up yet another goal he has set in his life and career? With beautifully written characters and a storyline that I could not put down this was a great book. I now need to go back and read the series from the beginning.
Harrison is such a goofball. But he’s sweet and I like how open he is to trying new things, how understanding he is of others, and how hard he tries. He can come on a little strong it seems, but it’s because he’s so goofy really. Arya is very hesitant about so many things because of her past. She gets folded into this awesome family pretty easily, and that’s just what she needs.
There is a lot of the Wynn family to keep track of, but I’m starting to get the hang of it. And I’m kind of a sucker for a good hockey romance. I don’t love present tense writing, or too much unnecessary details. But I did like the storyline and it could be read on it’s own but also has an arcing story going on throughout the series.

Zen AF. I think I yelled at Arya and Harrison a little much to keep that title, but it brought a whole new level to reading for me. I felt the drama of the book could have been avoided with communication and even though it seemed like a simple resolve it wasn’t. With 10% left in the book I was starting to wonder if this was going to be a romance that turned into each person moving on and being happy single. I’m glad to know that didn’t happen, it turned into a HEA. I should have had more faith and less doubt, as this author has rarely let me down.
