Can a hockey hunk teach a yoga instructor to be more flexible? “Kelly Jamieson is an auto-buy for me.”—New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips Harrison Wynn Even though I’m the oldest player on the farm team, I’m playing my heart out this year to prove that I have what it takes to compete in the NHL. Everyone expects me to live up to my dying hockey hero dad’s legacy, but my chances … dying hockey hero dad’s legacy, but my chances are receding every season.
What I need is to focus, but the team’s new yoga instructor is a major distraction; I’ve had my eye on her from the first time we met.
Except she’s not interested—okay, maybe actively disinterested—since I accidentally dumped her into the ocean during our paddleboard yoga class.
How can I prove to her—and to the NHL—that I’m worth taking a chance on?
Arya Ross

He seems genuine, and I wonder . . .

So much emotion! Arya and Harrison had me from that first yoga session, and they didn’t let go. Arya’s story is heartwrenching, and Harrison is just too lovable for words. This pair is so good together even if the relationship does have some growing pains to get through. I’ve enjoyed this series from the start, but I think this couple has become my new favorite of the Wynn’s. They have terrific chemistry, they’re likable, both together and separately, and it’s impossible to not root for them. As I’ve come to expect from Kelly Jamieson, the story is well written, the characters are engaging, and the romance is hot. All in all, another entertaining read in the Wynn Hockey series. Each book in the series focuses on a different couple, but there is a continuing storyline. That said, Jamieson does give enough backstory so that each book can work as a standalone, although I can’t imagine not getting to enjoy this whole series from the start.
Loving the Wynns! Wins? I really did love Harrison and Arya’s journey, with so much emotion and reality. The family drama, the playoffs, Arya’s background, even Harrison’s unknown fears all came into play and I was in deep. Their relationship had a few hills to climb, mistakes were made, but though it all they were learning, moving forward for themselves and each other. All the emotions came out in this relationship, loved the funny bits, teared up at times and the sexy times were–Oh So Sexy!
The hockey games and plays were thrilling, felt the excitement through the pages.
Who knew yoga could be so beneficial, strengthening, stretching, even pleasurable for our bodies! MmmHmm
A great sports read with heart and depth, this may be my favorite Wynn book yet!
A stand alone with an HEA, but part of a series
This was okay for me. Although I have read the previous book in this series, there were a few times when it was hard to keep up with everyone. There are a lot of names mentioned, and I know there is a section in the front of the book to tell you who is who, I don’t really want to have to go back and forth while I’m reading. The writing flowed well, and I liked Arya and Harrison together for the most part. Their constant miscommunication got old after a while though. He was always doing something that he didn’t realized would set her off and apologizing for it. Arya came out and told complete strangers what happened to her, but even after dating Harrison for weeks, she hadn’t confided in him. While I get it was her story to tell, it was still annoying that she was punishing him for things he didn’t even realize were “bad”. In any other situation the things he did would be considered perfectly normal. I did like the fact that Arya was there for Harrison with everything going on with his family. She seemed to fit right in, and seemed to help Harrison settle down. The ending was sweet, and I liked that Arya and Harrison were talking about goals and how best to go forward in their lives.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
*I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.* Wow, what a book by this amazing author!! If you read one of these books about the Wynn family, you will definitely want to read all of them. This is Harrison Wynn’s book who finally gets together with Arya, the Paddle Yoga instructor mentioned in previous books. Such an amazing couple with great chemistry!! It’s emotional with some difficult subject matters, funny (Arya getting stuck in the bathroom), entertaining, heartwarming, well written & has such wonderful characters. It can be read as a stand alone but will be better if read in order. Harrison is trying to get a permanent spot on a NHL team while trying to play up to father’s (who’s also team owner) & family’s expectations. Arya had a traumatic event in her life that makes it difficult for her to date & trust men (Arya should of trusted him with what happened to her long before she finally told him). They help each other & eventually get their HEA. The Wynn family is on their way to healing the rift between them all when they all have to come to terms with Bob Wynn’s Alzheimer’s. A must read book & author!!
This was the book that I liked the less from this series. The plot was good, Ayra had a huge background that she is trying to undergo, Harrison is great as a male character, nevertheless I did not connected with them as a couple. The author is good and the Wynn Family series is excellent as a series (not individual books). I give it 3 stars because of this but I recommend the book anyway because it is good, even though I did not feel the characters chemistry.
Though I accidentally skipped ‘In It to Win It’, whoopsie! This was a far better improvement then that mess of a sequel I read ages ago. Arya (unusual but cute name) and Harrison were such a cute couple even though I didn’t really see much chemistry between then, the sexual tension was through the roof so to some extent it made up for it.
This release had all the elements that typically wins me over: romance, sports, wild family antics, sad backstory and sexy times. Now why the three stars? Storyline was generic and bland, and there wasn’t anything that glued me to the pages but nevertheless an overall enjoyable read.

For the Win was the fourth book in the Wynn Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson. The series built off each other so it was best read in order.
Arya Ross was a yoga instructor that we met in previous books (remember paddle board yoga!). She had crazy funny chemistry with Harrison but kept blowing him off. She seemed feisty, independent and totally at peace.
Harrison was a Wynn. Big hockey legend family where all offspring did something hockey related. Harrison bounced back and forth between the AFL and NHL CA Condor teams – never quite making the permanent move to the NHL. With season ending injuries, he was called up to the NHL again. And just his luck, the organization hired a yoga instructor as they headed into the playoffs. Not just any instructor, but the one he couldn’t get out of his mind.
Jamieson picked up where the last book left off. She then took us through Harrison’s pursuit of Anya. It was obvious the attraction was there, but something kept holding her back. Jamieson slowly unraveled the layers while simultaneously tackling some tough topics. Although there were some humorous light hearted moments, For the Win was primarily deep and emotional. No spoilers, so no elaboration.
I enjoyed both the storyline and the characters. And actually, I loved Harrison. He was funny and intense at the same time. I didn’t mind the drama, but being a major hockey fan, I didn’t particularly care for it centered around the playoffs. And speaking of hockey, Jamieson obviously knows her hockey and it showed. Tons of accurate details, adding to the depth and dimension of the storyline.
Overall, it was well written, well developed and entertaining. True to the series, the Wynn family was front and center and I loved them all. I’m so ready for Ash’s story, but first the mysterious Jackson in Game Changer.
I am loving this Wynn family! I have been waiting patiently for Harrison and Ayra story ever since that first awkward water yoga session. They each have battles to win and secrets to hold on too but maybe it’s time to let someone in. Ayra has had a terrible experience with men and now just chooses to keep to herself. When Harrison splashes into her life she has no idea who he or how convincing he could be. Harrison soon realizes that he needs to treat Ayra with kid gloves and show her the respect and tenderness that she deserves. We also have the amazing cast of friends and family that surround them on their journey !It will be a tough road but when you find that someone it is certainly worth the risk!

Reading the adventures of the younger generation of the Wynn Hickey Dynasty is so much fun. The author has created wonderful characters with playful banter. Vivid descriptions of the characters, the settings, the hockey play and in this one, yoga classes, even the meals that they eat, are so clear that the reader could visualizing the story as a movie. And as throughout the series, Ms Jamieson provides a Family Tree at the beginning to help keep the relationships of this big, crazy family straight.
The members of this generation, one by one are all finding their “one”. This is Harrison’s story, but most of his relatives also appear. Harrison, at 26, is already one of the older players, when he is called up again from the farm to play with the Condors, due to injuries of some of the players. When his sister Everly, drags him and his fellow team mate and her boyfriend, Wyatt, to Paddleboard Yoga, he is struck in awe of Arya, the teacher, recognizing her as his “future wife”. However, he does not know that she was a victim of a stalker and is very wary of men. But taking the advice of his coach about being determined in hockey and applying it to his personal life, he persists in pursuing her and she finally relents. She has trust issues and he is a guy, they have misunderstandings that almost break them up, but they are both intelligent enough to talk to each other, so they can work through them. I really like this couple.
I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Harrison is the oldest player on the hockey team. He is striving to prove he can make it in the NHL. Arya is a yoga instructor hire to work with the team. The two are like oil and water, they don’t mix at first. Harrison doesn’t want to be distracted from his goal but can’t ignore his attraction to Arya. Arya doesn’t want a man in her life. Harrison may be the exception to her rule of no men. A fun, flirty, steamy read that I recommend.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
I love the Wynn’s and all of their disfunction. Harrison is trying to find his place in hockey bouncing between the AHL and NHL. Arya is the local yoga teacher that immediately catches Harrison’s eye. He tackles getting her to go out with him just as he does his hockey career and cannot understand her resistance. Little does he know Arya is holding onto a painful past. I loved these two together. Even though Arya has trouble trusting men, I loved that she knew it was time to get back out there and didn’t dwell on it for half the book. The issue with Mr. Wynn unravels in this installment and we see all members of the family, not just Harrison struggle with his diagnosis. I was so invested in this couple that I didn’t want their book to end. I really wanted this couple to have an epilogue. I know these books all overlap and we could catch up with them in the next one but I would’ve loved a little peek into their forever.
This is another fantastic hockey story by Kelly Jamieson. I always look forward to reading her heartwarming stories about sexy hockey players and the Wynn family. I enjoyed reading this perfectly constructed story filled with passion, humor and romance. Harrison and Arya are easy to connect with; Harrison is charming and sincere and Arya needs that in her life right now.
The Wynn family is a hockey dynasty, producing many great hockey players, but they also have their issues, just like everyone else. This is Harrison’s story. Harrison plays hockey but has never reached his potential and has gone back and forth between the farm team and the NHL. He is getting older and knows this is his last chance to prove himself.
Arya is a yoga instructor still dealing with boyfriend issues from her past. She isn’t interested in dating again, until she meets Harrison. Arya becomes the yoga instructor for the team and Harrison and Arya just can’t stay away from each other. What I enjoyed most is the fun bantering going on between all the characters. This is a wonderful story and I can’t wait until the next one in the series.
This book killed me just a little. It dealt with some tough issues but Kelly did a great job covering them. I lost my uncle to Alzheimer’s so I was definitely feeling it We have Harrison who has always admired his dad and wants to live up to his name as a hockey legend, now that his father is dying he feels more and more pressure and stress, he seems like a clown but that is him hiding how he really feels. He starts yoga and embarasses himself in from of Arya the yoga instructor, and my friend the fun begins.. Enjoy!
rcvd an ARC at no cost to author…(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
Family, Hockey and romance = the Wynns….
If you have been following the Wynns, and really you want to, you will feel how I do when a new read is here! This is a complicated, sprawling family but when the love bug hits, you know the wagons will circle even as the drama heated up…
Harrison found himself a bit adrift in his over-achieving family with his foot in and out of the NHL. Struggling to find his place, Arya entered his life, bringing yoga, focus and love… Arya was rebuilding in a new place, also struggling to find her way in her new life. What was certain and entertaining was the sparks flying…
Arya and Harrison’s courtship was plagued by uncertainty but held together through the warmth growing between them and the humour that surrounded them. There was a lot of push and pull, with Harrison’s dedication to his goal, fierce and all in. If Arya was reluctant it was understandable even as I wanted her to see his feelings, his sincerity a lot sooner.
Family, as usual, played a huge factor as the over-arching series drama continued to grow. I smiled a lot but it was bittersweet too, as life handed the good with the bad. Hockey was the focus but love made it all worthwhile…
*Reviewed for Nerdy Dirty & Flirty
Harrison Wynn may come from a hockey greatness, but he hasn’t found his permanent place in the NHL yet. Called up yet again from the farm league, his coach calls him out for coasting through and not giving it his all. He’s determined to give it his all and find his place in the pros, but he already thought that he was . . . and deep down, he knows he’ll never be as good as his dad.
When Arya Ross needed a new start after a relationship went very bad, she packed up and moved across the country to stay with a friend and make her own way doing what makes her happy . . .yoga. When she’s offered the chance to work with an NHL team, she can’t pass it by even though it pushes her far outside of her comfort zone
Harrison doesn’t need a distraction and Arya doesn’t want a relationship. Yet, they can’t seem to stay away from one another. Can Harrison prove his worth to both the NHL and to Arya and can Arya move past her trust issues and let HArrison all the way into her heart and her life?
For the Win was really a sweet story and romance. Arya and Harrison are an awesome couple but really lack communication causing them misunderstandings and issues . . .but it’s so worth it watching them work things out as they both learn so much about themselves and each other.
It’s clear Arya is interested, but she is absolutely terrified of trusting her gut or taking chances. And, Harrison is all about doing everything he can to win her over, and in doing that finds out more about himself than he could have imagined. This couple is absolutely perfect for one another giving one another the push to be brave to really go for everything they want to achieve personally and professionally.
Bob Wynn’s story arc is also a big part of this book and brings readers closure to issues that have been sprinkled throughout the entire series. The entire extended Wynn family as crazy as it is finally gets to the heart of their family problems which left me as a reader feeling very satisfied as I’ve been dying to find out how this would play out.
4.5 stars for this epic addition to the Wynn Hockey series.
There are two reasons why I loved this book: yoga and Harrison. I’m a yoga enthusiast and loved reading about the practice, about how Arya integrated yoga with hockey practice and yoga in paddle-boards. I’ve been practicing for a few years and was glad to learn a few things, most notably: “I breathe in courage and breathe out doubt.” Also couple yoga, very intriguing!
Harrison Wynn is a darling, a goof off, a little unsure but a lot kind. As a junior member of the Wynn hockey dynasty, son of Bob Wynn, the hockey king, he has big shoes to fill. He alternates between the minors and the mayor leagues. At twenty seven, he wishes he could stick to the NHL and make his father proud. In this instance, he receives another chance to play with the Condors and the coach tells him has been coasting and it’s time to “give his all”. This will be his underlying preoccupation throughout the book and it’s great to read how he deals with this situation and overcomes his self-doubts.
Arya has such a sweet deal. She teaches regular yoga at Prana in Venice, paddle-board yoga at Makara Yoga, and is about to start a yoga class for the professional hockey team. Loved reading about tight hip flexors! Two years ago, something horrible happened to her at her native North Dakota state, and she moved to California to start again. With the help of counseling and yoga, she has come far to acquire her serenity again, but there are still strong underlying fears and trust issues.
Their story is beautiful because both are beautiful people and their feelings are so true. Although Arya is antsy and distrustful, Harrison is such an open dude, like a frisky puppy, that she can’t resist him. Harrison calls her “his future wife” to his hockey team mates, but at least is smart enough not to tell her. Their chemistry is hot although her issues run rampant as he forges like a raging bull to get her to accept a date. They’re so cute together!
There are several hilarious yoga scenes which I loved, an underlying sad theme about the patriarch of the Wynn dynasty, and a need for a family torn asunder by money problems to forget about what’s torn them apart and remember that family is first. I love this author’s writing style, she writes about love, family, sports. Her characters are good people, that you would love to meet and make friends with. I love her sex scenes because they have all the passion and sensuality without being too prolonged and the loving always shines through.
Winning isn’t everything.
For The Win is the fourth book in the ‘Wynn Hockey’ series by Kelly Jamieson. It’s a stand-alone, but, if you haven’t read any of the others, then you should. Not just because they are an interconnected series of stand alones, but they’re all such great stories, too. Plus, there is a story arc throughout them all. It’s not a ‘be all’ but it helps to have read them. You can still read this on its own. Just… why would you want too, lol.
This is Harrison Wynn’s story. He’s been stuck in the AHL for a while, but now he’s been given a chance to shine in the NHL, it’s a dream he’s harbored since a young age but never quite fulfilled.
Both, he and Arya Ross have been in previous books, so it’s nice to see them coming together. Ayra is a yoga teacher and when she first met Harrison she thought he was a bit of a clown. Harrison had a completely different response.
Arya has a past that still haunts her and she finds it difficult to give her trust, never mind open up and share her feelings. Harrison, in his own unique way, shows her just how wrong she is about him.
This one was bursting at the seams with all the feels. From simple friendship, to adoration and unfailing love. It tests limits and tugs at heartstrings. This is a certain One-Clicker for me. Check it out and see for yourself.
I love a fun and easy sports book. Kelly Jamieson has the talent for writing them. For The Win is a story of a farm team hockey player who is trying to live up to his superstar hockey player dad’s legacy. I live in a town with a farm team that sends players back and forth to the NFL and I know some of the players so I could picture some of our local players going through exactly what Harrison is.
Harrison must learn to accept that he is talented in his own right and does not have to play hockey just as his dad did for his dad to be proud of him. He must learn how to be comfortable with his own skill level, learn what he does best, and put that to work on the ice. I enjoyed watching him find himself and I knew that when he finally did, he would be a better, happier person.
The relationship between Harrison and Arya is interesting. Harrison acts like a school boy to get her attention, she pretends that she doesn’t like him. It was all fun to watch come together. I like that Harrison doesn’t push too much. He feels that something isn’t quite okay with Ayra and doesn’t push her to tell him what is going on. Ayra is careful and not sure that Harrison is trustworthy. She takes her time, learns more about him, and comes to trust him.
From the very first meeting the sparks flew between these two and I loved watching the sparks get hotter and brighter. They has an attraction that was there but more importantly they knew that what they saw in each other was different that anything they had seen before. Harrison opened up to her first which I think was important to Ayra and allowed her to see that he respected her and trusted her.
For a quick, easy, and fun sports book I recommend picking up For The Win by Kelly Jamieson
I love the Wynn family hard and I was secretly wishing that the book was called For the Wynn Anyways, For the Win is book 4 in the Wynn Hockey series and next up is Harrison Wynn and Arya Ross.
I’m really loving the the family story arc, as we get through each book, we’re learning a whole lot more about the Wynn family. And I will say, the most recent update on the Wynn family is a little bit heartbreaking, but what I want more than anything is for everyone in the family to finally be a solid unit. There’s still a bit of hostility going around, but I think they made a lot of headway in this book.
Harrison and Arya, they’re definitely adorable together. I love, love, LOVE the yoga aspect to their story and couple’s yoga sounds absolutely amazing! Their yoga moments were definitely a favorite!
I was hoping to connect with Harrison and Arya on a more emotional level, but it wasn’t quite working for me. I really wanted them to dive deeper into their relationship.
This one is definitely a great addition to the series that’ll definitely leave you hungry for more. I can’t wait to see more of Harrison, Arya and the rest of the Wynn family in the next book. Definitely enjoyed this one!
**AN ARC WAS PROVIDED BY THE PUBLISHER IN EXCHANGE FOR A REVIEW**
Another Wynn bites the dust! No, its not foreshadowing. Harrison, himself, says he’s going to marry her. Now he just needs to prove it.
The Wynns are a big complicated hockey family. With a family dynamic that leads to overly dramatic and probably avoidable problems, they aren’t devoid of entertainment. You just need to learn to pick and chose your battles in the Wynn household. Perhaps, some people need to grow up too…
Harrison will learn. Arya won’t let him get her down. This sexy, sweet story has Wynn lovers ready for Jackson’s appearance. Just don’t wait too long…
