Take the journey, find the lock that fits the key and get some damn answers.Get from point A to point B. Stick to the mapped-out route and take shelter at the pre-planned times. It sounds simple enough, now if only we’d factored in getting attacked by djinn and having to take a detour through The Wilds. With obstacles at every turn, the last thing the fangs and I need on our arse’s is a new breed … last thing the fangs and I need on our arse’s is a new breed of Feral, but it looks like that’s exactly what fate us about to throw at us.
This trip is going to be anything but dull, but with the Fangs as back up, I may just make it to the Bunker in one piece and finally get some answers.
Whoever said road trips were fun can go suck it!
The Vampire Diaries meets The Walking Dead in this Post-Apocalyptic Urban Fantasy with a slow burn Why Choose romance more
This series is truly one of a kind. Book one gave you a kind of supernatural Walking Dead vibe but book two morphs it into so much more. I love all the supernatural creatures we get to meet in the second book and the threats are so much bigger then just the Feral. Eva is an amazing character and each of her guys are truly special and one of a kind. The story grabs your undivided attention from page one and the wild ride doesn’t stop. Flipping the last page was the worse part about the entire book because I simply didn’t want it to be over! I can’t wait to get my hands on For the Reign because I bet the conclusion to this series is going to be absolutely epic!
Wow this us another great book. I like apocalypse novels but this is so much better. The characters are unique and interesting. The world that’s been created is creepy. I’m completely absorbed. It’s a really good read and I recommend it!
All of her books are great world building but this one just grabbed me
Ah, yesss, shit just got real. Everything became spicier and steamier and maybe even sadder, but all in all still for the better. For the power picked up right after the semi-cliffie ending from the first book. And though this one was just as action-filled as the previous read, the overall development was much more superb. It was as if every last puzzle piece became much more distinguished, as if it was only a matter of putting said pieces into place. (The author probably had more tricks under her sleeves for the last book though.) Obviously, there was no such thing as second book syndrome with this one.
Eva. I really liked her from the start but she was even more radiating in this book. There was no surprise from me when her true origins were revealed but the defeat she admitted about her pending noble demise almost got me. It’s just so unfair, so freaking much. She’s like the heroine the new world didn’t deserve but most definitely needed. Literally. It was only befitting for her to collect a bunch of allies from different supernatural races; she would rally them all to unity against the corrupt ones. Aside from her intimate friendship with Tobias which formed like throughout her existence, there was little to no romance for Eva. Expect so much steam from this read though /insert knowing grin
Of course there were few times the guy stumbled (yes, I am side-eyeing you Logan). But in the end, in the face of death looming all over them, they couldn’t help but show what and how they really feel for dearest Eva. Idiots, the lot of them. Fortunately for them, they were still admirable and def pulled through in the end.
Ack, I don’t really know what’s in store for each and every single one of the characters…crossfingers for no death. Unless, we’re talking about Malcolm – then heck yes, go for it. I would cheer at the sidelines, even at center stage. But hopefully spare Tobias. Or any of the guys. For Eva’s sake, and…ahem…mine, too.
Overall rating: 4.8
A seriously great series, this is guaranteed to keep your heart pumping! Book 2 is full of revealing secrets along with heart shattering outlooks. The skill this author used to keep this intricate tale ever weaving is epic! Huge cliffhanger folks so hang on tight. I have the next installment marked on the calendar so I don’t miss it! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
For the Power is the second book in Cassidy’s For the Blood series and it is amazing. It picks up where the first book leaves off with Eva and the guys on their quest for the cure. The suspense and anticipation build further in this story and includes some interesting twists and turns along the way. There is a natural feel to the storyline and the characters that keep you engaged from the constant snarky banter between Eva and Logan, the hesitant interactions between her and Jace and her deepening relationship with Ash, and we also get introduced to some new characters that help Eva along the way and who become an intricate part of her journey. The multiple relationship drama will keep you guessing as to the state of Eva’s involvement with each of the guys, individually and as a whole and it is nice to see the several personal and group issues that have to be dealt with and overcome. It helps to make the characters feel more real and to be more relatable. We are also provided a more in-depth look at Eva’s background and more detailed information on the Feral and Claws and other creatures that go bump in the night (and day!). Plenty surprises abound in this book and I am looking forward to seeing how it all is wrapped up in the final installment. It was just fantastic and I am ready for more!
