He’s got everything but game….William Drake is an artistic genius with a photographic memory and the intensity to master practically any task. Oh, and he owns a chunk of a billion-dollar gaming company. A twenty-six year-old guy with his wealth, talent, and good looks shouldn’t have problems winning over women. Except he does. To be exact—and detail-obsessed William is always exact—he’s got … detail-obsessed William is always exact—he’s got problems with Jenna Kovac, the troubled beauty who has his heart working overtime and his tongue tied in knots.
And she can’t afford to lose.
Jenna Kovac is a survivor. When war ripped her world apart, she lost her family, her homeland, and her one true love. She’s made a new life for herself in the US, but she’s learned that nothing is permanent, and some nights it’s not even safe to dream. When a scumbag sells her future out from under her, suddenly the only man who can get it back is William Drake, geeky—but scorching-hot—social disaster. William must learn to stay cool under pressure for the all-important duel he’s about to fight. Unless she can teach him to loosen up, she’ll lose everything. Again.
But Jenna’s got a few things to learn from this irresistibly enigmatic man. As they spend time together, they’re soon exchanging long, slow kisses—and painful secrets. There’s so much more to William.
Something that might be worth taking one more risk…

Audio review
Liam and Jenna’s story is touching, heartbreaking at times, and completely engrossing. I just cannot stop listening to this fantastic series. Once I start, my ear buds are in place for the duration! Cue some fed up looks from my grumpy husband .
Liam is beautiful, creative, tunnel visioned about certain things, noble and just down right adorable! I loved Jenna’s heart. She is so vulnerable, yet also rich in character. Their slow coming together is littered with triggers and potential pitfalls, but it is a thing of beauty to witness. The book and audio are filled with wit and humour, the characters richly drawn and Jason Clarke and Kristen Leigh bring them to life perfectly. Their ability to capture the heart of the story is nothing short of wonderful. I will be listening to this again!
Outstanding Story & Narration Gripping & Heartfelt!

Gaming the System, Book 5
By: Brenna Aubrey
Narrated by: Jason Clarke, Kirsten Leigh
This book wowed me like no other, it is an original story that is beautifully told and written. I have been loving this series and book may be my favorite so far, ok, I said that after each book so maybe it is a tie but this one definitely touched another place in my heart. This is William Drake and Jenna Kovac’s story, the story grabbed my attention right away and captivated it straight to the end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. William is a character I will not forget anytime soon, he has a brilliant mind in many ways, but he lacks social skills, his ability to understand things figuratively is outside his realm, he is cut and dry and to the point. He has a huge crush on Jenna Kovac, they both share the same love for period re-enactment and are in the same circle of people. William finds his in with her, he wants to come to her rescue, help her get back something that is precious to her. Jenna, came to the US as a young girl, her father sent her away from her war torn country. Her troubled childhood left her with issues, she is a little bit broken and suffers from PTSD. When William offers to help her she reciprocates and tells him she will help him get over his fear of crowds. I thought these two were great together, perfect for each other. She was so patient with him, understanding he did not always get certain sayings, she explained it to him without judgement or ridicule. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted and there is never a dull moment, there is drama, a touch of angst, a whole lot of heartfelt and emotional moments and a slow burn romance. Brenna Aubry, thank you for this outstanding novel!
I listened to the Audible edition, Jason Clarke and Kirsten Leigh are the perfect cast to bring these characters to life. They give each character their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and know who is who. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, they performed each role with perfection, completely grasping their characters persona, capturing all their emotions and projecting them into their performance. I adored Jason Clarke’s take on William, he played that role perfectly, Kirsten Leigh’s Jenna was awesome too. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen
This is my favorite so far of the series. I love that William is so literal and straightforward about what he wants. It meant there was very little miscommunication relationship drama which I can find tedious. For the One was great in that once they got to the verge of the relationship, they were each very direct about what they wanted. They had other obstacles to overcome which made the book interesting. And much of the slang that William took literally made me smile. I’m a geek at heart, so I really enjoyed this one.
I listened to the audiobook and I’m not sure what I can say about the narration that I haven’t said before, other than you should definitely listen to this series. The narrators do an excellent job of bringing the story to life and adding unique voices for the characters. It’s the same excellent team of Kirsten Leigh and Jason Clarke from the earlier books in the series.

Gaming the System, Book 5
By: Brenna Aubrey

Gaming the System is one of the best series I have had the pleasure to listen to. I was thrilled to get William(Liam)’s story! Will is brilliant, extremely artistic, but being on the spectrum, he has some social issues….with women. Jenna is the woman he lusts over, so when given the chance to become her knight is shining armor, he takes it. But will he be able to win her love? This is an intricate story, with many facets. Aubrey takes into account PTSD, autism, male ego and grief just to name a few. With her ensemble cast, she creates a story that is realistic and will make you smile, laugh out loud, tear up and love. It’s got a little of everything. Will is incredibly fun. His literal thinking kept making me laugh. His focus is incredible and I love how Aubrey lets him evolve. Jenna has had a tough life, and her self worth is so low. She shoulders a lot, and her relationship with Will may just be what she needs. I loved the story, the chance to see old friends and can’t wait to finish the series with Worth Any Cost.
Jason Clarke and Kirsten Leigh continue their fabulous narration. They bring out the best in these characters, find the nuances and create their personalities just as I imagine. It is another enjoyable listen by this team.

Book 5 in the Gaming the System series is just as good as the previous books. Brenna Aubrey’s characters are so relatable that she takes you on a journey from start to finish. This book follows William (Adam’s cousin) and Jenna and their road to finding love. As mentioned in previous books from this series William suffers from autism and so Brenna tackles this subject with such grace and humor so you can’t help but root for them as a couple! Here’s to another great read from Brenna!
