It was magical how Ellen and Michael time traveled during a full moon and that their burns were healed slowly by special cream. They bond over their shared love of gardening. But will she still accept him when he reveals the truth about what happened the night they met? This was a clean time travel romance with plenty of suspense and romance.
The narrator had a nice upbeat tone with voice changes and inflections in the right places, but she was overly dramatic on the voices at times.
This one is heart-pounding… both in action and romance. Michael and Ellen, recovering from their burns, begin to fall in love. But he doesn’t dare tell her he’s responsible for the fire! It’s a fun, standalone, time-travel romance that can be read in any order. But you’ll want to go back and read the first two. (Trust me!)
Ellen feels pulled to walk upstairs in Aunt Nellie’s house, though it is forbidden. This full moon ball has plans for her beyond dancing.
When a horrific event takes place just as she lands in the future, she finds herself pulled back in time, bringing an unsuspecting guest with her. Will this tragedy destroy them? If far magic can heal them, can love’s magic heal the gulf that may soon tear them apart.
This Romance was as sweet as the books before it! A magical story of love based upon inward beauty as opposed to merely outward appearances, this story takes you into a whimsical, historical time of promise and Romance.
I greatly enjoyed traveling through time with this series and seeing how each of the characters worked to make the world a better place.
This audiobook was very enjoyable. The narrator did a great job. I stayed engaged in the story and connected to the characters. I have not read the other books in this series but was able to follow the characters and story line. I did not feel like I was missing something. I definitely want to read the other books so I can appreciate the characters even more. There were no spells, potions or witches so the magic aspect did not overpower the story.
I like time travel stories & this is a good one. A story of tragedy with Michael, Ellen & Aunt Nellie working together to “fix” that situation bringing healing & love. There is also a mystery to solve which brings peace to Michael & his grandfather. You should enjoy this book.
What happens when time travel goes wrong and brings tragedy in its wake? This book looks at the trauma associated with severe burn victims? Physical and emotional obstacles and the effects on those around the victim.
Lady Ellen is curious about the portrait room at Twickenham Manor. On the night of the full moon she decides to explore, only to be yanked into the future. She arrives in the midst of a burning room where two men are fighting. On fire and in indescribable pain she is then pulled back to the year 1851.
Michael isn’t sure what has happened when he arrives in the past with Ellen. All he knows is he’s in terrible pain. He realizes that he and Ellen are both badly burned and he’s sure her injuries are his fault.
Can he redeem himself and gain her forgiveness by helping her overcome her pain and insecurities? As he helps Ellen recover he finds that beauty truly is more than skin deep.
Michael soon finds himself in love with Ellen and hopes for a future with her, but will she remember it was all his fault and send him away forever?
This was a great follow up to “With the Magic.” Lady Ellen finally gets her story and Michael is perfect for her. Their courtship is sweet and satisfying and her first kiss, scars and all made me want to cry good tears.

I received a free copy of For the Magic (Twickenham Full-Moon Ball Romance Book 3) by Donna K. Weaver and this review was given freely.
A tragic story of lost love, revenge, healing and family that transcends all boundaries with the help of a little faerie magic. As Catherine and Garth prepare for Catherine to give birth, Twickenham Manor’s present day neighboring landowner tries to stop Aunt Nellie and all time travel by setting Twickenham on fire which sets into play a complicated tale entwining 1851 and the present day. Easy flowing and suspenseful with moments of heart wrenching sadness this full length novel contains a gruesome moment near the beginning but ends happily.
For the Magic is another entertaining installment of the Twickenham series. I’ve enjoyed Lady Ellen Hildebrand in the previous books and am glad she now has her own story. The recurring theme in all the books has been the willingness of one of the characters (sometimes both) to make sacrifices for love. For The Magic is a bit more tragic than the others, but it ends well with a happily ever after. Ellen is an adorable character and her love interest from the future, Michael Addington, is a perfect match for her. I loved these two together and their courtship was delightful. As a modern woman, I will say I hoped for a different ending for Ellen’s sake, but that isn’t to say the ending was disappointing. It was not. I simply wanted Ellen to be able to pursue a dream she had. For The Magic has action, a little mystery that sets this whole story in motion, and a lovely romance.

For the Magic (Twickenham Full-Moon Ball Romance Book 3), my fifth read from author Donna K. Weaver and my fourth in the highly enjoyable Twickenham Full-Moon Ball Romances, was a highly enjoyable romance. I wish I could get more read & review books in this series. I was given an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I’ll be reading more from her as I already own 11 more of her books. A well-written story from a very good author. No spoilers from me. You need to buy and read the book then leave a review. We first met Lady Ellen in Against the Magic, she was timid and shy, but learned to express herself. In this book we really see how she has grown over time as well as how she continues to as she encounters trying situations.
Michael is the perfect compliment to Lady Ellen and their connection is magical, sorry for the pun.
I really liked For The Magic. The story was fun and the characters seemed very real. Their stories were complex but not too complex to be followed. I enjoyed the story.
I wasn’t a fan of how the narrator spoke for Lady Ellen. She did a very good job with all of the other characters though and when I concentrated on what Lady Ellen was actually saying, I could tune out the voice that was being used for Lady Ellen.
All in all I thought this was a very fun story. Donna K Weaver always does a good job, I need to make sure to read more of her books very soon.
Love formed thru shared adversity
In this 3rd book from the Twickenham Time Travel series, we get a glimpse of Gareth & Catherine at the beginning, but the point of view switches to Gareth’s sister Ellen & Michael Addington. The Full Moon magic draws Ellen upstairs to the portrait room & she ends up traveling forward in time to where Michael is trying to stop his grandfather from burning down the house.
Michael & Ellen both end up severely burned. They return to Ellen’s time and spend time together as they recover. Even as they grow closer together, Michale wrestles with his sense of guilt over what happened, and the fear of losing Ellen.
This installment is a little different from the previous books – the conflict is more internal than external. More serious than its predecessors, but it’s not heavy. The hero & heroine actually help each other to heal. It was very sweet and touching.
*Clean romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic
This was fun to see a bit more of Garth and Catherine story but more so to finally get Ellen’s story after seeing her in both of the previous stories by Donna Weaver in this series. Ellen is such a kind soul. Michael is also a kind soul who is riddled with guilt for Ellen’s injury. He knows he had a part in her burns even if unintentional. But he starts to fall in love with Ellen as he helps her to heal. I love that this story was different with a lot of emotions with having to deal with injuries. The narration for the book was good but I had a really hard time with Ellen’s voice.
Story: 3.5 stars
Although this is ok as a stand-alone, it would be best to read these books in order. This was the first book of the series that I read and it was a bit confusing at times. Loss of 1/2 a star for modern idioms used by Victorian era characters (there were times I was in my car muttering at the verbiage). Otherwise, a solid 4 stars, very good!
The pain that time-travel caused and how Michael scoffs at his father and grandfather labelling them as conspiracy theorists is totally believable. It’s a bit difficult to relate to Ellen, who is so beautiful that everything has come easily to her. The self-doubt and connection with Michael give her more depth of character than she seemingly had previously.
I’m not huge on lying tropes and Michael’s lie eats him up and have serious repercussions when Ellen finds out. But it works. I thought the author did a really good job of taking her time allowing the feelings between the main characters to grow and flourish. The angst was appropriate; not overdone, not underdone. The elements of magic and time travel were interesting plot devices and I truly enjoyed this book!
I received this audiobook for free, at my request. This is my honest review.
Narrator: (3.5 stars)
Ms. Corbin has a wonderfully expressive reading voice. I loved her narration…her vocal range is great! However, I found it a bit disconcerting that she kept switching between her American accent and her British one. Her British accents were subtle and not 100% authentic-sounding (at least to me, but I listen to a ton of audiobooks read by Brits). Her male voices were deep and sounded like men; the heroine had a rather high voice, but it wasn’t bad. I’d definitely listen to her again!
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
I enjoy the Twickenham series. This one felt more serious to me. It dealt with a man crazed by lost love and people having to heal from burns that without the fae magic would have killed them. It didn’t feel as light as others in the series. Not necessarily a good or bad thing. It just is.
Reading it made me wish that fae magic was real and could actually help people through painful recoveries. I actually think that this might be difficult to read for anyone who has suffered from burns.
I liked the main characters and that there was a bit of a mystery involved in the story.
I listened to the audio version of this book and think I would have enjoyed it better had I just read it. The narrator’s interpretation of voices did not match what I had in my mind at all. Lady Ellen sounded too young to me (maybe 13?) and Aunt Nellie sounded too old and stodgy. I always envision her as more playful and perhaps a little on the dottie side. The author said she had a twinkle in her eye pretty often but I didn’t hear it in her voice. It might match other people’s interpretations though. Just not mine.
Still, the story is good and even though I’m not typically a fan of time travel novels I do find it fun to try to understand how time is a fuzzball and how any of this could work.

*I received a complimentary audiobook and voluntarily chose to review it.
This was a sweet tender romance. The way the time-travel happened had me trying to wrap my mind around how the future affected the past as well as the past affecting the future. Ellen loves gardening. Michael loves landscaping. The two connect under the most difficult of circumstances. Yet a tender romance blossoms. I loved the characters and how the plot played out.
Wow, this book has a lot of tragedy, but they rise from those ashes like a phoenix. This is another beautiful time travel romance. I would suggest reading some of the first books in the series so you can understand the magic behind the time travel. Ellen and Michael meet under difficult circumstances, but they are able to look past that and see each other’s inner beauty. I loved the connection between them. It was beautiful.
