What happens when the kids leave for college and you remember you’re not just mom, but a woman too?Simply going through the motions, on autopilot day after day, weighed heavily on me.The one thing which bonded my husband and me, before the kids came along, was slowly cast aside as their needs grew more demanding.Intimacy became an act; a performance, without the desire, passion, and lust we once … performance, without the desire, passion, and lust we once shared.
My need to feel desired and wanted by my husband ate at me and I was determined to make him see the woman he married.
I wasn’t going to give up and hatched a plan, one which would hopefully forge a new beginning for us.
Fighting to keep our love alive was a risk, but, for us, I was prepared to do anything.

When you take a chance on a new author, you never know what you’re going to get. I absolutely loved this book!
Callie and Brad is a husband and wife raising a family, thier life becomes routine and you get lose your relationship in the shuffle. Then the kids grow up and are out the house and their routine is no longer your routine, what do you do? Just settle for quiet, yet very boring life with someone you love? Or do you put a plan into motion and hope it works to get back to the couple you were before life got in the way. Well, that’s exactly what Callie did, made a plan with her bestest BFF Tina. (Love Tina can’t wait to see what is going in in her head) Well things don’t go exactly as planned, but will it completely backfire on her? You’ll have to read it to find out!!!
With my current placement in life I can totally relate to this couple. It gives me hope that we can bring since spice back to our life. Thank you for an awesome book Kaylee!
Boy, is this a fun book! Read, and learn how to put the fun back onto your marriage. Callie and Brad are now empty nesters. But they have forgotten how to live with only them. Callie has devised a plan……….and I loved it!
I was gifted an Audible version of this book from Story Origin.
This book is well written, but not well told. The narrator read wayyyyy too slow. Too many pauses. It was painful. I gave her three stars, though, because she read with lots of expression and added a ton to the humor and the story.
This slow burn, rekindle the magic had me lmao and hoping for the best. I loved the side characters and cannot wait to read Tina’s.
“I knew we needed to make a change, but how do you starat again when the person sleeping next to you feels like a stranger?”
I can’t tell you how refreshing it was to read a book that didn’t center around characters in their 20’s or 30’s, but about a couple who are in established in their relationship but dealing with real-life issues. How do you go from parents, having your whole world revolve around your kids, to empty nesters with only each other?
Reading this book, it was as if Kaylee had a camera in my house. While we are not empty nesters, we were in a rut and trying to find our way back to each other. Sometimes life just gets in the way and we lose focus on what is truly important. It’s not enough to go through the motions and hope your partner is happy.
I loved what Callie did for Brad – for them. I loved Brad’s reaction and the steam it all led to. This was such an amazing story! Even though they were already married, I see this as second-chance story – not to start over, but to start anew.
I’d definitely recommend this one to everyone!
The dialogue is a snooze-fest. Nothing happens. I kept reading, hoping, something would happen, but nothing never did. The title should be, ‘A lonely old woman.’ That would fit the dialogue, writing, and character.
It’s Thursday. The one day set aside each week for what I call coffee therapy. It’s the only time I feel like me.
I’ve been married for over twenty years to the most amazing man. He gave me two wonderful boys, but somewhere along the way, I stopped being Callie and morphed into just a wife and mom.
A part of me is jealous of what Tina has with Alex
Fuck! I’m bitching about Brad’s ugly sweats and lack of spontaneity but I’m a disaster zone too.
