I love everything about this book. The cover is fabulous, the wring is excellent and the characters are real, funny, complex and likeable. The proceeds from this book going to such an amazing animal rescue charity is the icing on this literary cake.
Dali the Dog .. Carmen and Nate’s story has been hinted at in previous Blackwood Security books but has been a long time coming. It was definitely worth the wait. Sparks fly but not just from the chemistry between them. The verbal sparks, the sarcasm, the humour a dying grandma and a very complex and challenging assassination … and Dali the puppy … all add up to a brilliant, clever and laugh out loud book. It is safe to say these two will never forget when they met.
Picky the Pony … who know an impulse buy at a horse auction could lead to something else. This is a short but sweet cute meet story. Picky the pony is indirectly responsible for Matt rescuing Sarah and Picky ..
Houdini the Hamster is hilarious .. I have played a very similar game with a hamster and can totally relate to this wonderful, hilarious short story.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough .. it is just brilliant, wonderful, clever and at times laugh out loud funny. If you only buy one book this month .. make it this one.
Another winner. Using humor she continues to develop her characters and plots. Nate and Carmen’s story was exciting and fun. The short stories were equally enjoyable.
Another great read from Elise that is worth your time and money – plus an added bonus is that proceeds support needy animals!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
Awesome novella! I really enjoyed reading about two great characters like Carmen and Nate, and of course Dali the dog. The two short stories were great as well! As an animal lover, I love reading about stories with animals in them, and these stories (one with a pony, the other a hamster), and how they bring people together was heartwarming. Even more so that the author generously donates all the proceeds of this book to an animal sanctuary in Egypt; how cool is that?!
Would definitely recommend this book and most likely read more of Elise’s books!
The first story was Blackwood and the dog, a supporting character. Hero and heroine, delightful. The case of Dug Lord assassination and Mexican corrupt government wove together with a saved dop and a romance made this a good read for me. I still have the 2 shorts to read. Ms. Noble’s writing is always page turning.
An AMAZING Trio of Stories – Proceeds Donated to Charity – 10 Stars
What a great trio of stories that really show how our love of animals can bring two people together!
Dali the Dog
Yay! Nate & Carmen’s story from Blackwood Security! Carmen is an under-appreciated female sniper for GAFE High Command, the most elite group in Mexico’s Special Forces. Nate is part-owner of Blackwood Security and a highly skilled assassin. They end up working the same hit on Lozano, a drug dealer who uses proceeds to finance terrorist campaigns agains the government. Dali is a puppy at Lozano’s house who is mistreated and scooped up by Nate. When Carmen and Nate meet face to face, sparks fly. Lust turns into love which turns into much more in a very short period of time.
Elise’s characters, action-packed plot, and steamy sex scenes never disappoint. You’ll hate the super scummy bad guys and cheer for the not so pure good guys (Carmen, a sniper, and Nate, an assassin, are a good guys). This story is shorter than most of Elise’s novels, but it is still exceptional!
If you are a fan of the Blackwood Security Series, you’ll love this book. If you’re new to Blackwood, you’ll love this book and get addicted to the series, but don’t worry… it’s a good addiction! 🙂 No Cliffhanger and a HEA!
Picky the Pony
Maybe acting on impulse and getting lost while horse back riding isn’t the worst thing ever, when a hot military guy saves the day. Sarah has a heart of gold in this short, yet satisfying story.
Houdini the Hamster
Being alone on Christmas Day and over Christmas break is a depressing thought for Cara. Luckily, one of her students buys her a hamster so she won’t be alone. And, Houdini actions introduce her to a lot of hot guys in this very quick, intriguing short story.
I’d give For the Love of Animals 10 stars if I could! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book and then purchased my own copy for my ebook library. How could I not… all proceeds go to charity! Thank you, Elise! 🙂 The fact that all of the proceeds are generously being donated to an animal rescue in Egypt (Janet’s Wadi) makes this a win-win book that you can’t afford not to purchase! Elise, who lives in the UK, adopted a dog named Gigi from Janet’s Wadi in Dahab, Egypt! You can learn more at her Facebook page (Elise Noble – Author) or sign up for her newsletters. I love them. You won’t be disappointed!
