Ramsey Hunt is caught in a spiral no one can save him from, and he’s taking his entire Clan of crow shifters down with him. A broken mating bond has him going insane, and all he can do is try to hold onto his Alpha position as long as possible. But when a spirited beauty comes waltzing into his MC’s clubhouse demanding an audience with him, he can’t help but think he’s dreaming her up. She’s got … got paperwork saying he’s her mate, and this shifter has one serious stubborn streak in her. All he wants to do is go insane in peace, but she isn’t having it. And now the real work begins. He’s got to sever one mating bond completely if he wants a shot at survival. And if this crazy plan works, he might just have a second shot at happiness too.
Vina wants a crow. She doesn’t care who they are, as long as their shifter animal is a crow. They mate for life and she’s tired of being pushed around by the men she dates. So when a crow comes up on the shifter matchmaking service she applied for three years ago, she has a good feeling her stars are about to change. That is, until she meets Ramsey. The half-crazed Alpha of the biggest, baddest Clan of crow shifters in existence isn’t going to make pairing up easy. And the more Vina gets to know him, the more she thinks it wasn’t him who signed up for a mate after all.
And now Vina has two choices—cut and run from the storm coming for the Red Dead Mayhem Clan, or dig her heels in and rip that old mating bond out of Ramsey. Up until now, no one has appreciated her, but what if…just what if…she could be the one to save the crows?

T.S. Joyce is a totally new writer to me, but like so many other writers has done in the past week (because of the quarantine situation we are in) this writer also offered a free sale on some of her books. And being someone who loves free books, I took this opportunity to get those books and after reading the blurbs I was immediately intrigued by them and decided to try one. I choose for the story ‘For the hope of a crow’, the first book in the ‘Red dead mayhem’ series because I had never read a story about a crow shifter before and I love MC stories so the combination of both in this story had my attention.
‘For the hope of a crow’ is a quick, fun, emotional, sexy read. I enjoyed it very much and it’s perfect if you have a few hours free and want to relax with a novella-length story. The main characters Vina and Ramsey couldn’t have been more opposite of each other but that made them just perfect for each other. Ramsay is this cold-hearted, deadly, alpha crow shifter of a MC club and Vina is this caring, lovely woman how is also stubborn, sassy, cute and clumsy. I loved her character very much! And her animal was a pleasant surprise too! But what struck me the most in the story was how both characters (and their animal side) were looking for love, how both were lonely, feeling like they didn’t deserve love but still longed for it, each in their own way. I’m so happy that they found each other and I adored how Vina had Ramsey’s back in every situation. We got both POV’s in the story. The secondary characters were interesting too.
The only thing that I missed a bit in the story was more detail about Ramsey’s past relationship. I can totally understand that in a quick read the main focus is on the romance now, but I would have liked more details or ‘better’ details about the time (timeline) that Ramsey spend with his first mate. But maybe that’s just me.
‘For the hope of a crow’ was a great story and it certainly made me want to read more of this series and read other books of this writer.
(If you’re a fan of the books of Suzanne Wright or the stories of Shelly Laurenston, give this story a try too.)
T.S Joyce is the Queen of Shifter romance that’s all there is to say.
This is the story of Vina and Ramsey. This is the first book by T.S. Joyce and it has a connection to another of her shifter series. That just means more books for me to read because I loved this book! Ramsey is a Crow with a broken mating bond. Vina is a shifter too (won’t tell you what kind, you’ll have to read the book) and looking for a Crow mate because they bond for life. Their story is full of laughs, heartache, honesty, steamy scenes, and happiness! I loved it and am excited for the rest of the books in this series.
I really didn’t think I would like this one, but I was happily wrong, great story wonderfully written. With a wonderful HEA. Fans of Joyce will be happy and those who have never read any of the other series I recommend those as well
Ramsey and Vina have their tale here. The characters are strong and grab you right from the start. The story is great and keeps moving at a swift pace. This is one of those books you can not put down. There is a hard won happily ever after. I suggest eighteen and over read this book.
Ramsey, King of Crows is really messed up, his crow, not him, bonded to someone who wasn’t their mate, so his clan is in chaos. In walks Vina, looking for her mate, him. She wants a crow, cause they mate for life, and she’s a moose. But things are rough for a while. For some reason I thought since he’s a crow he would be related to her other series, but it’s not.
