They broke my halo.
Burned my wings.
Sent me plummeting straight to Hell.
When I’m captured by demons and forced into the fighting pits of the Seventh Circle of Hell, I need to stay alive long enough to claw my way back to Heaven and destroy the archangels who betrayed me.
Four dangerous men stand between me and my vengeance.
A deadly Nephilim in self-imposed exile. Hunger incarnate, ravenous … ravenous for an angel. The heir to Satan’s sinful throne. And the prince who bound my soul to his until I win my freedom.
They think I’m still pure. They think I’m innocent. They think they’ll enjoy corrupting me.
Joke’s on them. This angel’s no saint.
If Heaven doesn’t want me, I’ll be bad for the Hell of it.
For The Hell of It is a steamy, enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance for readers 18 and over.

This book hit the ground running and didn’t stop. I spent the better part of it breathless as Melisande kicked butt and didn’t bother to stop and take names. This is the kind of heroine I adore. She’s tough and determined, but she also has a heart of gold. I wanted to crawl into the pages and join her on her adventure…Fine, I wanted to crawl into the pages and have my wicked way with Belial, Azazel, Lucifer and Tascius. The plot, the pacing, the steam, everything was spot on. I’m off to devour book two! Highly recommended!
Oh hell yes loved this book. This author never lets me down. Her writing style is awesome, totally going to read the next book, I highly recommend this book and any other books by Care Corvin
Loved the uniqeness of this book. There are familiar characters, but some amazing new ones as well. Drawn in immediately!
This was my first book by Cate Corvin and it certainly won’t be the last! I was impressed with the story-building that was incorporated in book 1 of this paranormal RH series. I was definitely on the fence with some of the characters but have changed my mind since I am finishing up book 3 at the moment hahaha. I wasn’t sold yet on Melisande in book 1 but she has definitely grown on me in books 2 and 3. I loved how strong she was but some things didnt always jive with me or they were a tad repetitive, so that’s why I gave this 4-4.5 stars for the story. I was intrigued with the instant connection she had with some of the guys (I loved Tassius the most – I listened to this book so my spelling is going to be so wrong and I apologize right now for it haha). I thought the fighting aspect of the plot was fun and entertaining, kept me engaged and wanting to know more. I liked the ending, it wasn’t a crazy cliffhanger but it left you going whaaaat because one of the character’s reaction was harsher than I thought it was going to be (more to come in the next books). Good start, enjoy the steam (I would say its a medium, almost fast burn, because there is so much plot it wasn’t totally focused on that more).
In terms of narration, I thought Sarah and Alexander did a great job! I thought some of Alexander’s portrayal of female characters was a little off throughout the books (I think book 2 or 3 has it worse off) but it didnt take me out enough of the story to downgrade it too much. I would five the narration a solid 4-4.5 stars. I love most everything Sarah does, so she is an instant listen for me.
If you are looking for a FMC that isn’t a damsel in distress, male characters in the harem that don’t necessarily get along and are stubborn alpha-holes, then you will love this RH series. Again, I am almost done book 3 and I am still enjoying it, even more than I did book 1
Cate Corvin is officially one of my favorite RH authors! This series ROCKED. Normally when I find a complete series, I still take breaks between books for a breather… but not with Razing Hell! There were so many twists and turns… You get hints of who all will be in the harem in Book 1, but it solidifies pretty well in Book 2. I love how each book goes deeper and deeper into the underworld, and we learn more and more about Melisande’s men. I’ll leave it at that! If you love angels, demons, nephilim, heaven and hell, etc…. read this sexy RH series!
Loved this book! It has great characters & world building. I read it when there was just the 1 book out, so I’ll have to reread it and refresh my memory before reading the others! I really liked it though!
This is kind of the story I didn’t know I needed. The author manages to build a world beautifully, create a whole hierarchy of heaven and hell, a full cast of real characters, a revenge plot, romances to root for and humor all into a relatively short book. The plot moves quickly but not too quickly. There isn’t pages and pages of redundant inner-monologue. That can be a problem in first person view points. The MCs motives are easy to understand. She behaves in a way that makes sense for her character. It was super refreshing. I like that the author uses a time frame that works for the story and is unpredictable. Instead of “I’ve spent the last 6 months preparing for this moment, it’s taken 11 chapters and this epic battle will be at least 5.” This book is, “Oh we’re doing this now? Fine by me.” I really liked it! I’m excited to see what else this author has to offer.
*WARNING* contains adult situations
This is a really great book! It raises some good questions too! Melisande may have been pushed from Heaven, but she seems to be better off in Hell. I truly hope Heaven is not like this. There is a fair amount of character development in a short time. There is world building. The author is descriptive without going overboard.
Awesome Story & Narration FascinatingPNR
For the Hell of It
Razing Hell, Book 1
By: Cate Corvin
Narrated by: Alexander Cendese, Sarah Puckett
Wow, this is an awesome paranormal reverse harem romance. Cate Corvin is a gifted author, she created a fascinating and original story, the storylines, characters and world dynamics are imaginative yet realistic enough to relate to and connect with. The book grabs your attention right from the start and holds it captive straight to the end. Melisande, a fallen angel who was unjustly pushed from Heaven into Hell and she is not happy about it. Trying to pick herself up she finds her white wings are now blackened, she is also hurting and to make her day even worse she gets captured by a demon, Belial, the Prince of Wrath. Belial has plans for the fallen angel and brings her back to home, the Seventh Circle of Hell. She wants to find her way back to Heaven and Gabriel, she wants her revenge but she will have to fight her way out of Hell to get it. Melisande is on badass angel, she stands up to the best of them and even grows a fan base. She meets some interesting characters down there too, befriending Tascius, a warrior, a son of a nephilim and archangel. Lucifer takes to her as well, as does Azazel who had to make his own deal with the devil to help save his sister Vyra from him. I loved how everything plays out in this book, there is great world building and the story is cleverly plotted. There is never a dull moment with is plenty of drama, angst, thrilling and suspenseful moments, some emotional and heartfelt moments and some hot romance. I am curious to see happens next for Melissande, what will become of her and her demons and angels. Also, hints are dropped, there seems to be some sort of master plan going on, where does she and the other characters fit in. I am looking forward to finding out, hope the book comes to Audible soon. Cate Corvin, thank you for this wonderful story!
I listened to the Audible edition, Sarah Puckett and Alexander Cendese are talented, top notch narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. as well as heart and attitude. They do an amazing job portraying the characters, Sarah Puckett truly grasped Melisande’s persona, capturing her badassery to a tee, sounding just as I pictured her to sound. Alexander Cendese was awesome portraying his characters too, the alpha demons and archangels. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen
I loved everything about this book!
I loved the writing, the setting, the heroine, and I especially loved all the men in her harem (although not all bonds are clearly formed yet in book 1). This was the perfect world to get lost in right now.
I was in the mood for some steamy reverse harem and, boy, For the Hell of It more than delivered! Entertaining dialogue, steamy as hell love interests, and a kickass protagonist that I connected to at once. Everything I adore in a great uf/pnr book! Needless to say, I have the next one on my Kindle already…
Another home run from Cate!! This book was amazing, it’s hot, fiery, funny and the MC is sooo full of strength and ready to kick butt no matter what! And the Men ahhh what can I say I just love them especially Luci but I’m biased lol!! Overall it’s a book you have to read cause if you haven’t you are missing out on a spectacular series!!
I loved absolutely every second of this book. There was so much action and emotion held in these pages that I had a hard time putting it down. If you love Angels and Demons this book is definitely worth the read. I am so excited for the next book to come out.
I need book two as of yesterday!
For the Hell of It was a phenomenal start to the Razing Hell series! I cannot even begin to describe how much I LOVED this book. Pure perfection, thats the best way to describe it.
Melisande is one of Cate Corvin’s most bada$$ FMC’s to date! She’s got snark, sarcasm, and can kick some demon butt too! Don’t even get me started on her harem *fans self* they are beyond delicious. The heir the Hell’s thrown, the prince of Wrath, a Nephilim, and a Watcher… could you get a hotter harem?, I think not!
You’re in for one Hell of a ride with For the Hell of It, and trust me when I say, you’ll LOVE every minute of it!
This was the first book that I’ve ever read by Cate Corvin, and I’m so happy that I found her! For the Hell of It was so incredibly written and had characters that I connected with on an emotional level. Despite being thrown from Heaven, Melisande took her fall in stride. Driven by anger and betrayal, she adapted to her new surroundings and embraced herself as she now was, sins and all. Through her fall she was finally able to indulge in the beauty of fighting and war that she was once forced to ignore. Although her life now was focused on battling and escaping Hell, she still managed to connect to several unexpected beings. They say you can’t make friends in Hell, but leave it to Melisande to do so. She has a huge heart despite her predicament and is able to relate to these outcasts and sinners in a way she never thought able to. Turns out they aren’t as different from her as she thought and are actually capable of true feelings.
This book had me on edge the entire time, and I didn’t want it to end. That cliffhanger is a real game changer though. I’m not sure what to expect from all of the characters in the next book, however, I’m excited nonetheless. I can’t wait to see how the stories continues and am anxiously waiting for the next in the series. Until then, please excuse me while I go read the rest of Cate’s books.
I love the storylines and characters that Cate creates! Melisande is a strong, badass FMC. She has literally been beaten down to hell, but rises like a phoenix. The scenes are steamy and explosive, and don’t even get me started on the ending. Cates world building is phenomenal, descriptive enough to form a picture but not bogged down with unnecessary details. Highly recommended, per usual from Cate. Fantastic job!
The book was so fucking good. The raw emotion it had me at. They way the book was written had me at tears and crying. The emotional bond at the beginning middle and end of the book was important. The character development was amazing. But the connection each character had was not even the beginning of what’s going to happen next. And I hope I get to read more because from the first chapter I have fallen in love with this series!!!!
omg, this book was fantastic!
This book is filled with adventure and great action. The main characters chemistry together is steamy. This book is filled with discoveries and I can’t wait to read the next book
Like a fish out of water Fallen Angel Melisande (FMC) lands (Quite literally) in Hell & then she has the misfortune of being found by a Prince of Hell – Belial. Taken to his city- Dis she has to fight for her survival. Which opens her eyes to the fact that her bias towards Demons might be unfounded. Add to that the complications of Lucifer, another Prince of Hell – Azazel and fellow prisoner – Tascius. Way too much steamy hotness with these four hot demons/guys. One totally brilliant read and Oh boy that ending was killer!!! Dying for book 2 now
