For the Fight (Elite Swat) by Leah Ashton a new to me author based in Western Australia. Yah!
Book 1 in this series & an awesome story to start. This is an action packed thoroughly enjoyable read.
I can’t wait to read more in this series.
3.5 stars
Luella or Lou is a cop who has been sent to the Elite Swat after an incident. She is tasked with playing a terrorist and plant a fake bomb. Nate is a member of Elite Swat and Lou’s ex. Twelve years ago he up and left Lou without a word, after she said “ I love you “. Now he is in a training session and sees Lou is the one he’s after. She runs and jumps on a train after spotting Nate. When they both board the train, another couple gets on and something is wrong. The man holds the whole train hostage until he gets to see his kids. They must work together to get everyone safely off the train. Then someone else tries to shoot Lou and both of them have guards. Will Lou forgive Nate for breaking her heart?
Fairly good story. Something about it wouldn’t hold my attention. There is a little suspense and action. Now I remember what I didn’t like- Lou kept jerking Nate around. She would have sex with him but then get mad when she did.
Action packed, page turning, steamy romance where finding yourself with the one you walked away from in a hostage situation will certainly give you all of the feels. Truly enjoyed it!! I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.
Brilliant. I will grab the rest of the series~
Australian E-SWAT members Luella Brayshaw and Nate Winters are unwittingly thrown together after he broke her heart twelve years ago. Now they are forced to work together to save a train full of people while dealing with the surprise of seeing each other one again.
Off duty cop Luella Brayshaw never expected to see her ex after twelve years, and to find herself held at gunpoint on a train with him had her reliving every angry moment from that day while digesting the fact that they, along with others, were in serious danger. Now she, along with E-SWAT member Nate Winters, will talk a crazy man off a proverbial ledge to save innocent lives.
Nate Rivers has regretted the way he left things with Lou for twelve years. He thought he was doing the right thing yet seeing Lou again is bringing back every doubt he’s had. But right now they need to focus on saving the people on this train from a mad man. Once they’ve done that Nate intends to fix the damage he did, if he can get Lou to forgive him.
Determined to never be hurt like that again, Lou shut down her heart, permanently. Will Nate be able to convince her he has matured and changed?
A hesitation on the job has left cop Luella now stuck as a desk jockey at Elite SWAT until she is allowed back to her normal job, just when she thought that was bad enough the guy that broke her heart years ago has turned up during a practice undercover operation (and he looks better than ever!). Things go from bad to worse from there but now is the chance to find out what really happened years ago to make Nate walk away, but they also have to deal with guns, kidnappings, a lot of feelings and keeping alive in order to see what they want now.

Luella is a police officer who made a mistake while working and ended up having to take a desk job with Elite Swat. She was sent on an assignment and was unaware she was being followed by someone familiar. Nate was an Elite SWAT officer whom Luella had an affair with twelve years ago. Things ended when he disappeared one night without a word, leaving Lou heartbroken. When Lou found herself in a crisis, Nate was determined to do all he could to protect her.
This was an entertaining read with drama and suspense.

A great read about Nate an Elite SWAT officer and Luella, who is also a cop and is on desk duty because of an incident that has her benched. She assists the Elite in an exercise where she has to pretend to be a terrorist on a mission. Little does she know that Nate, a man who left her years ago, is part of the team tracking her. She ends up trying to get away from him when she realizes that he is part of the team, deviating from the exercise with Nate following her on to a train. What the two of them walk into is going to test their abilities as officers and the aftermath will leave one of them wanting to pick up where they left off.
I enjoyed this read, the steam, the suspense, some action, and the hopefulness of a second chance. The story flowed beautifully without skipping a beat and I really liked the descriptions, that were so realistic, I felt like I was right there on the train. These two had sparks and steam between them and I really enjoyed how it all played out. I would have liked an epilogue, seeing these two in the future, but even missing that, I bought a copy even though I received an advanced one.
Well written storyline with excitement, fear, danger and a second chance romance. The main characters in this book have strong values and are extremely independent. When danger threatens Lou, Nate will do everything within his power to protect her. I enjoyed the book very much and highly recommend it.
