Blaine Donovan has a secret, but so far his plan to keep the rest of the world in the dark about who he really is and what’s really going on in his life has worked. If he can just finish school before the demons catch up with him, he knows he can make life make sense once again. However, when he runs into Melody Todd, a semi-friend he had thought was long-gone, life takes a turn Blaine wasn’t at … at all expecting.
Still hurting from watching her best friend marry someone else, Melody Todd has given up on dating, guys, and herself. In fact, when Blaine shows back up in her life, she does what she always does with the eligible guys who look her way—she sets him up with someone else. But Blaine soon proves to be much different than he at first seems. Too many things are not adding up the way they are supposed to, and the more Melody digs, the more she sees that the Blaine she knows is not the real Blaine at all…
“For Real will show you how you can lay those things that are preventing you from loving Jesus at the foot of the Cross. It will inspire you and give you hope.”
—Amazon Reviewer, Myrna Brorman
FOR REAL is a remarkable Contemporary Christian Romance Novel. It delves into and behind the masks we all wear, coaxing “real” from the internal and external secrets we all tend to hold about ourselves. Confronting such issues as body image, money, prestige, and power, the lessons this Christian fiction book presents are relevant for women and men alike. Many Christian romance novels seek to present God’s truth in an engaging, inspiring love story. FOR REAL does this so deeply and faithfully that it will surely become a centerpiece in your collection of inspirational books.

A step down outside and Blaine turned to her. At that moment there was no denying the soul-wrenching misery in his eyes. “Thanks, Mel.”
Her heart broke for him, for them. They were words she’d wanted him to say, but not like this, not with him walking down her sidewalk away from her. “You’re welcome.”
For one second he paused, and then he turned and strode away with Dylan a half step ahead of him. Halfway down the sidewalk, he replaced his sunglasses, and she felt the distance growing between them. At the car when he looked back up at her, it was the old Blaine, cool, calculating, and in control. As much as she didn’t want it to, what she felt most was acceptance of how utterly impossible it was for them to ever be together. Even if he got his life on solid ground again, it was a sure bet he would find some svelte honey in slinky clothes and heels up to her neck.
Melody closed the door and wished reality didn’t have to hurt so much.

I enjoyed reading this book.
I enjoy reading all of her books.
Loved the book!
The book was a little hard to follow but I enjoyed it just the same.
I have read several of this authors books. The characters are well developed and in most cases not selfish or week spirited. However, I find that the story line is overly full of doubt and condemnation for there own person. It is an over flowing of sadness and hopelessness. Even with a love fulfilled there is no knowledge of how to get past the tearing down the pattern of self contempt. Let hope and knowledge move to educate through example. Please add tips to succeed to maturity
Thought the writing was simplistic, and a little hard to follow at the start, the story line moved well with multiple characters who were friends. I had read a different book in this series and enjoyed the characters once before. There is tragedy, which allows the characters to be so realistic, supporting each other through the raw and emotional times. I would not recommend for middle school, but definitely high school and beyond. There is no real content, just scary life scenarios that could cause fear in life.
I am never disappointed with this author. And always delivers a quality book with amazing characters, clean romance, amd just enough rough times til conquer to make me want to read. Such a good book!
Love this author!
It was sad that Blaine thought so little of himself when he really had great character…But I liked how it turned out.
LOVED THIS BOOK!! I felt so sorry for the male lead. His home life and past….oh my. Sad. But he found joy thru Christ and the lady so it’s all good!
I like Staci Stallings’ books. With this one I kept wanted to sit down with the main characters and give them a good talking to so they would say what they really wanted to say. I know that lack created the tension of the story, but in this case it just made the characters seem immature.
Not my favorite he thought, she thought, but kept me interested enough to finish. Light reading, nice and clean.
Great example on how to be the person God made you to be, and not try to be someone else.
Can’t stop reading Books by Staci Stallings you will get so involved in the charactors. loved this book.
Very good. Always enjoy this writer!
This is a “God thing” story if I ever saw one! You can probably see yourself in one of the characters, and will most likely relate to at least 1 of the situations. Loved seeing how God’s mysterious works turned out!!
She is a very talented, gifted author. I have read most all of her older writings and enjoyed everyone. She always leaves me inspired. She is one of my favorites.
I love to read but not all books can hold my interest enough to finish the book. This one held my interest to the last page.
Great story
