“Sophie Love’s ability to impart magic to her readers is exquisitely wrought in powerfully evocative phrases and descriptions….FOR NOW AND FOREVER is the perfect romance or beach read, with a difference: its enthusiasm and beautiful descriptions offer an unexpected attention to the complexity of not just evolving love, but evolving psyches. It’s a delightful recommendation for romance readers … looking for a touch more complexity from their romance reads.”

“FOR NOW AND FOREVER is a very well written novel, describing the struggle of a woman (Emily) to find her true identity. The author did an amazing job with the creation of the characters and her description of the environment. The romance is there, but not overdosed. Kudos to the author for this amazing start of a series that promises to be very entertaining.”

Emily Mitchell, 35, living and working in New York City, has struggled through a string of failed relationships. When her boyfriend of 7 years takes her out for their long-awaited anniversary dinner, Emily is sure that this time will be different, that this time she will finally get the ring.
When he gives her a small bottle of perfume instead, Emily knows the time has come to break up with him—and for her entire life to have a fresh start.
Reeling from her unsatisfying, high-pressure life, Emily decides she needs a change. She decides on a whim to drive to her father’s abandoned home on the coast of Maine, a sprawling, historic house where she’d spent magical summers as a child. But the house, long-neglected, is in dire need of repair, and the winter is no time to be in Maine. Emily hasn’t been there in 20 years, when a tragic accident changed her sister’s life and shattered her family. Her parents divorced, her father disappeared, and Emily was never able to bring herself to step foot in that house again.
Now, for some reason, with her life reeling, Emily feels drawn to the only childhood place she ever knew. She plans on going just for a weekend, to clear her head. But something about the house, its numerous secrets, its memories of her father, its oceanfront allure, its small-town setting—and most of all, its gorgeous, mysterious caretaker—doesn’t want to let her leave. Can she find the answers she’s been looking for here, in the most unexpected place of all?
Can a weekend become a lifetime?
FOR NOW AND FOREVER is book #1 in the debut of a dazzling new romance series that will make you laugh, make you cry, will keep you turning pages late into the night—and will make you fall in love with romance all over again.
Book #2 will be available soon.

For Now and Forever by Sophie Love is a well-written, emotional story. Emily breaks up with Ben after waiting for 7 years for him to propose. The next day, she quits her job and leave NYC for her family’s abandoned summer home in Maine. The old house was still standing and in need of a lot of repairs and work. Emily only planned to stay for the weekend! Can she get her life back together? Will the memories of the past haunt her. Can she find peace and happiness in this small town?
All the pieces come together with a well developed plot and wonderful, complex characters. I highly recommend this book.
Such a wonderful book to read!!!! 🙂
I really enjoyed this book. However, the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because i read a synopsis of the the rest of the series. I was considering buying the series if she went to other characters in the town and their story continued through that. But it seems like the story gets dragged on through the next so many books.
DNF! I made it to page 58 of 177 on my Nook and had to quit. Emily is irritating and stupid. The author wants you to believe that a 35 year old adult woman who has lived and worked in New York City for years doesn’t own a winter coat, boots or even a sweater. Really?!? And she fit ALL her clothes in one measly suitcase. Riiiiiiiiight. And her junker car that sat in a long term lot for years just magically started up on the first try. It didn’t need gas at all during the 8+ hour drive from NYC to Maine but did break down less than two miles from her destination, around midnight, but oh happy coincidence an old man with a truck happens by to tow her the rest of the way. She meets the caretaker Daniel who makes a fire for her because she’s too stupid to think that her Dad’s house that has been closed up for 20 years won’t have fuel oil for heat or the electricity turned on. She’s pretty much an ass to Daniel even after he makes her tea that night then arranges for the fuel oil to be delivered and shovels the snow clear for her. So… I couldn’t take any more. I hope she freezes.
Worth reading. I read it on one day. Hard to put down.
So well written I couldn’t put it down
Boring
Did not finish
Really wonderful characters make this story so wonderful. The story moves at a good pace keeping interest with each page. I felt like the characters were my friends at the end. I did not like how I felt toward the heroine at the beginning… she seemed to make weird responses but later you learn more about that. I think it would have been helpful to know her issues up front. Book ended well and looks like it may be continued in a next book…
Loved it! Next life chapter please!
Easy reading with an interesting plot and happy ending.
It was a great book. Loved the style of writing and the characters. I gave it four stars only because there were parts that I had a hard time with. A house that sat for twenty years with the taxes unpaid, a large room that had a beautiful stained glass window that Emily and Daniel had no clue was there among them. All in all the theme was great, the small town feel was there and I grew to love the main characters and look forward to reading the next book.
Just plain disappointing
Each book end as a cliffhanger making me want to read the next one.
Loved the characters
It was an easy read and fun book to read for summer afternoon.
i really enjoyed the the people in the story.
I would read it again.
This book was a charming, captivating story that kept me engaged the entire time. Readers will fall in love with the various characters and personalities of this small town.
Didn’t finish reading. Who drives to Maine in February in an unreliable car with no winter coats, no food and no flashlight to a house that has been boarded up for 20 years???
