Tate and Clay’s newest case has all the earmarks of typical investigative work: lies, deception, collusion, and a dead body – except the body was found in Fetish Alley, and nothing that happens there is typical.
Suspense, mystery, unique investigation, steamy communication and so much more create the awesome beginning of a new series. The writing was beautiful and the story-line kept me reading. The supporting characters were really well done and added so much depth to the story. I love the idea of this series being based on M&W Investigations agency and all the possibilities that could bring. I am hooked on Fetish Alley!
I loved the creation of Fetish Alley and all the amazing shops that were located there. The details of the different eatery’s and specialty shops had my complete interest. The dynamic between the retired soldier Clay and the retired DEA undercover agent Tate are intense and compelling. Neither man is perfect and both have their issues, but together they are amazing. i am excited that Tate and Clay are back!
Two of the supporting characters Aurelio and Tomas have intrigued me and i am hoping for more of their story in the future. i also really enjoyed appearances from some of the other Men of London MC’s, that really gave the story depth and connection for me. I am a fan of this author and am so happy to see this new series.

If banter and snark had a one night stand that resulted in a love-child, his name would be, Tate Williams. Just a few years younger than his business and life partner Clay Mortimer, Tate is often making jokes about Clay’s big 4-0 coming up. Clay however, is man enough to show Tate, he still has what it takes to please him, not that Tate had a doubt whatsoever! These two are perfectly paired.
As private investigators the guys get called for all kinds of gigs, and as an ex-soldier (Clay) and ex-cop (Tate) they have seen the worst of humanity.
A call from one of Clay’s old flames stirs insecurities in Tate. What the guys discover at their first face-to-face meeting with Clay’s ex, stirs something altogether different.
Clay’s ex-lover owns a fetish club and one of his patrons and friends has been found dead still wearing his furry costume from the club. The theater where the man was found is the last place he would have wanted to been found dead in (pun completely intended). It is for this reason Clay and Tate are hired to investigate, because the police shut the case, ruling natural causes as reason for death.
The Story is a wonderful romp into a different part of London, where people of like minds can go and enjoy themselves without fear. I loved all the different businesses in Fetish Alley and had a blast seeing it through the eyes of Tate and Clay.
I also enjoyed the side characters, but wish there had been more time spent with them. Jax and Dare, most especially. I also never found out what happened between Tomas and Relio, so I am hoping for character ARCs in this series.
This was a book about kink, without the kink. So, no worries for anyone not into that. There was however a taxidermy shop for c*cks. So, there is that. Bwahahahahaaa…
I am looking forward to the next book which coincidentally is titled, “Death by C*ck.” Sounds a bit like an Agatha Christie , doesn’t it?

Clay and Tate are partners in both senses of the word, they have been together for years and have an active and enjoyable sex life. They own and operate Mortimer and Williams Investigations, an exclusive agency assisting in cases passed over by the Government or others in the private sector. Clay is former SAS and Tate an ex Drug Squad Officer, so are highly qualified professionals in this field. This case takes them into Fetish Alley investigating the death of a friend of Clays ex.

Susan Mac Nicol’s For Fox Sake is the first book in the Fetish Alley series. I was told it could be a stand Alone but I really think readers would benefit from reading it after reading the connected series, Men of London. I felt that although the book is enjoyable that the background would give us so much more understanding of these characters and their story.
The story has mystery and suspense, it also gives us an intriguing love filled with fantastic chemistry. I definitely am interested in reading more about Fetish Alley.

Furry exciting
My favorite part of this book, other than Tate and Clay obviously, were their hilarious text messages and banter. They made me smile and I adore them. “He was everything Tate ever wanted and all he ever needed. And he’d never get enough of the man who tamed his soul.” You can feel their love for one other, but, and I say this with care, I wish they would stop trying to shield each other from things. They do make a formidable team and I’d bet on them each time. The mystery in this one was furry tricky and was tons of fun following along with the whodunnit and why. I’m excited for more adventures and mystery with ever delightful duo of M&W.

This is a new series from one of my auto-buy authors Susan Mac Nichol. I loved her Men of London series and Clay and Tate are from that series, HOWEVER, this is totally different and tough you would know the characters better this stand-alone just fine.
Clay and Tate have a Private investigation business and Clay gets a call from a friend and ex-lover that has opened a big fetish club at the end of what is known as fetish alley. This is mystery suspense, kind of erotic street cozy. There is a few twists and turns but the best part is all the crazy shops and funny banter between Clay and Tate then at the end we get more crazy fun between Aurelio and Tomas. I wonder if they are book two.
If you like English settings, fetish, established couples, mystery, and furries (not the four-legged kind) or just a good old romantic mystery that will keep you laughing this is for you!

I haven’t had the pleasure of reading the Men of London series, but if it’s like this I sure want to. Clay and Tate are a wonderful couple with a wholesome and believable relationship. They can take care of business while still finding the time for a real life outside of work. The secondary characters are just as good. I loved their sense of humor and the funny banter back and forth. Fetish Alley looks to be a fun and exciting adventure. I look forward to their next case and getting to know the guys involved. We met Tate and Clay properly in their book, Feat of Clay, in the Men of London series. This is the first in their own spin off series. It would probably help for you to read that book before this one. It will give you a better understanding of what both Tate and Clay went through before this book. That book for me is a brilliant 5 star read.
As is this one!
Granted, this is a much lighter read, with some very funny laugh out loud moments, particularly between Tate and the club owner, Relio. The fact that he is Clay’s ex brings out the green eyed monster in Tate and he knows it, but he can’t help himself!
The dead customer of Relio’s club is why he called Clay, along with Tate, to partake of their investigations business. Clearly, the people involved were hiding something, they just need to figure out what.
Enter, if you will, Fetish Alley. Relio’s club is at the end of the alley that caters to all things fetish. Some you’ll have heard of, some not. A collection of shops selling all manner of naughty things await those who enter. But there is still a possible murder to solve, and Tate and Clay need to get to the bottom of it.
I loved the little one or two liners at the beginning of each chapter, which look like text messages between Tate and Clay. They proper made me chuckle! Loved the “old man” digs that Clay gets since he turns 40 during the course of the book. LOVED the pop up by Draven, Jax and Dare from the other books in the Men of London series.
And I absolutely need more of Tomas and Relio! I’ve no idea what happened between them here, but clearly SOMETHING did. And THEIR book (please let them have their own book, PLEASE!) is gonna be fun!
Considering where the book is set around, I didn’t find it as explicit as some of Ms Mac Nicol’s book but it IS sexy and hot. The fact that Tate and Clay are a well established couple makes a huge difference. Yes, there are sex scenes, but mostly you got shut down at the good bits! Loved that though!
A fantastic new series, I look forward to following what happens next, both in the Alley, the club and with Tate and Clay.
5 stars, that are still speckled with paint!

After reading Clay’s and Tate’s story in Feat of Clay I was glad to see more of them here. The mystery was intriguing and it was great to see how Clay and Tate worked together combining their SAS and police backgrounds. I found lots of things I didn’t know about in the descriptions of the activities in Fetish Alley just like Tate did. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Fetish Alley. A setting just exactly what the name implies. Clay and Tate are very settled in to their forever together, boldly exploring new and interesting ways to have fun while investigating a possible murder of a man in a fox suit.
A light who-dun-it. The story didn’t take itself to seriously and the additional characters (from another series) that showed up were very likable. Lots of steamy time between Clay and Tate ratcheted up the heat level considerably.
I liked the combination of the men putting their skills to use and keeping their relationship on the front burner. Entertaining and witty.

What an intriguing beginning to a mystery series.
Clay (a former SAS soldier) and Tate (an ex undercover cop) are in a relationship and proud owners of a private investigator business.
When Clay receives a call from ex-lover Aurelio requesting so see the duo and acquire their services, Tate gets his hackles up but works hard to maintain composure (Unfortunately, old insecurities begin to rear their ugly head). Leave it to Aurelio to not make it easy. Aurelio’s friend dies of suspicious circumstances and requests an investigation the police deemed the case as open and shut due to natural causes. His friend feared that theater his body was found in due to a previous suicide and other unnatural acts. This leads Clay and Tate to question those in the Furry group (another fetish) who saw the deceased last.
The romantic and sexually heated relationship between Clay and Tate should be the envy of fictional characters. Their ability to tease one another, let their spicy inhibitions flow, snap back to business and still manage to keep their heads on straight is fascinating throughout the book.
The things they do to keep one another happy is quite funny. Especially the suit fiasco. Tate absolutely hates to wear a suit and Clay loves them. Tate is much happier in leather, jeans, boots and a fitted t-shirt. A point of humorous contention that anyone can relate to.
When I began this book – about three chapters in – it was more than clear there were established relationships among the characters, though For Fox Sake, the Fetish Alley spinoff is dubbed as a stand-alone. As a person who likes to know what is going on and appreciate a good flow, I personally would have been better served to read some of the Men of London series first. This revelation didn’t take away from the appreciation I had for the sexiness of former law enforcement men, quirky relationships, territorial attitudes, realistic insecurities, passion, love, and a hefty dose of sarcasm and teasing.
You will learn a lot about unusual fetishes with the club and surrounding businesses in Fetish Alley. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series.
I highly recommend it!

Mystery
Short story
This is definitely not a romance even though the two investigators are an established couple and there is flirty banter and steamy scenes. The emphasis is on solving the case of a man found dead wearing a furry fox suit. I actually really enjoyed the first half but it started to feel a little drawn out and repetitive in the third quarter despite it’s short length and how the mystery concluded was rather uneventful. The ending did pick up however so overall the story was pretty good. I didn’t hate it but it’s not one that I’d read more than once. It was just ok.
This is the first book in this series. However, I see from others that it is a spinoff of the Men in London series. I do think that the 2 MCs seemed to be suited for each other and were a happy couple but I just didn’t feel that invested in the relationship part. Perhaps reading the other series first would help. However, I don’t really have the desire to go back and read that series to get to know them nor do I think I will continue on with the series. This was my first time reading this author so maybe they just aren’t for me. I will say that I was thoroughly amused by the banter going on between Thomas and Aerulio so I would consider reading more about them.

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Wow talk about trying to catch my breath to write this review. In Fetish Alley when you have Clay and Tate partners working the crime together. It was hot, raw, sexual, sensual passion and lust it was erotic with the imagination to explode in unbelief.

When Clay and Tate agree to look into a matter for Clay’s ex they enter the world of kink.
When Clay agrees to look into the death of a friend for his ex he and his partner Tate enter the world of unusual kink. What they are asked to look into is why a man would be found dead in the theater he owns but has not been in for many years and surprisingly the easiest thing explained is why he was wearing a fox costume. As the partners in business and in life investigate they sees things that they would like to forget like the restaurant that serves their meals live. Clay has troubling thoughts about himself as he approaches forty and Tate fights his insecurities.

I haven’t read the Men of London series, so I wasn’t already familiar with these characters, and even though this is the first book in this series, it felt like I was missing a lot of backstory.
The sex in this book got to be intrusive. I understand that Clay and Tate enjoy a healthy sex life, but it often felt like the sex interrupted the story. Also, I didn’t find the scenes to be titillating, for the most part, they simply had yet more sex and then we got back to the story.
As for the story itself, I wish that the mystery had been more of the focus. It ultimately was a bit of a letdown with how everything turned out in the end.
Basically I found this book to be ok, but not great, and I don’t really have any desire to read about these people in the Men of London series, or further in the next book of this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I checked and this is the first book in the series and I didn’t know of her original series Men of London and now I feel I have to check them out. Even though this is the start of a new series I feel like I missed something. The references about the past between Clay and Tate are stated as prevously worked out and I missed it. Even with that this is a great read. Clay and Tate have plenty of steam going on throughout the story and it is well described. They also made me feel that nothing was getting stale with them. The secondary characters were also fun. Not your everyday bores. Thomas more than made me roll my eyes. I would enjoy watching him but I think a little goes a long way. His interaction with Clay’s ex Aurelio was fun. Tate’s insecurity with Aurelio and his jealousy over Clay’s past involvement with him is pretty amusing. Just Tate being a insecure character is interesting. The several issues that pop up made me want answers that I feel I didn’t get. The part of Aurelio’s watching over people and his involvement with questionable people I wanted to know more about. The possible relationship between Aurelio and Thomas would be a story I would like to read. I don’t know where this series is headed but I know I’ll be watching for more book from it.

Where do I start my review for this one…… First let me tell you that this is a M/M male/male book so be warned. With that said Susan has blown me away again! She never ceases to amaze me because she knows how to weave a story that keeps you glued to the pages right from the start till the end and when the end comes you don’t want it to end.
In this story we get my favorite couple Tate and Clay. They have their own security business and they are great at what they do. I love how they do their undercover jobs and watch everyone and everything. In this story Clay’s ex asks him for help and he agrees to help him out. See Clay’s ex is the owner of a club in Fetish Alley where all the cool shops are and where everything happens. So when Aurelio calls Clay looking for help he agrees.
As Clay and Tate start to uncover the story of what happened they are thrust into some serious stuff and things start to pop off. This is a must read series and this is the beginning to an amazing series I know because it was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!
Suspense, mystery, unique investigation, steamy communication and so much more create the awesome beginning of a new series. The writing was beautiful and the story-line kept me reading. The supporting characters were really well done and added so much depth to the story. I hope Jax and Dare get their own book as well as Tomas. Actually I hope everyone at the firm and get their own story. The story, itself, had me laughing and charmed all the way to the end. And the mystery had me intrigued.

Tate and Clay are Magically Fur-licious
MMy Review:
If banter and snark had a one night stand that resulted in a love-child, his name would be, Tate Williams. Just a few years younger than his business and life partner Clay Mortimer, Tate is often making jokes about Clay’s big 4-0 coming up. Clay, however, is man enough to show Tate, he still has what it takes to please him, not that Tate had a doubt whatsoever! These two are perfectly paired.
As private investigators, the guys get called for all kinds of gigs, and as an ex-soldier (Clay) and ex-cop (Tate), they have seen the worst of humanity.
The theater where the body was found in the last place he would have wanted to be found dead (pun completely intended). It is, for this reason, Clay and Tate are hired to investigate, because the police shut the case, ruling natural causes as the reason for death.
There was however a taxidermy shop for ccks. So, there is that. Bwahahahahaaa… Imagine the window dressings for all the different holidays… Cocks pulling Santa’s sleigh… Cocks dressed as a Vampire, Werewolf, and Frankenstein for Halloween… oh, what delicious fun!
I am looking forward to the next book which coincidentally is titled, “Death by C*ck.” Sounds a bit like an Agatha Christie, doesn’t it?

Mystery
