But you know what they say about things that disappear…

This book had in it all… second chance romance, with strong sweet heroine and a sexy alpha hero. Finding themselves back together after Emery disappeared from Jordan’s life, I was rooting for the connection and when it happened it was amazing! I think I may have to read the other books in this series because one book wasn’t enough.
Emery was the girl next door to Jordan. Even the age difference was a few years but one knock on the window and they became instant friends. Then one night things change. Emery and her mom leave in the middle of the night and Jordan has no idea where they went and was so worried. Then 4 years later they see each other again, but Jordan isn’t the same till they rekindle their friendship and relies that they need or mean more to each other than a friendship, but when Emery gets into trouble Jordan is there to save her but only gets himself into trouble with the football team.
OK, so we have all heard the story young girl crushing on an older boy… Well this book is that plus so much more. Emery is so sure at the ripe age of 8 that her and Jordan Grady are going to be together some day, not just date but marry. Emery’s childhood is not like a child should experience. To escape that she starts to climb through Jordan’s window at night. They form a bond, but with their age gap nothing will ever come from it. One night makes Emery disappear from Jordan’s life, but is she gone for good? Emery always knew they would be together. Will they get their chance. I love how this book was written. It just “flows”. There are so many elements to this book and love how one doesn’t outshine the other. I was going to read this over a couple of days, but ended up reading it in a day. It was that good!
I really enjoyed this book. Right from the start I fell in love with Jordan and Emery. I must say college age books and sports books aren’t my usual reading choices but I’m so glad I didn’t miss out on reading this one. It had college kids being kids, college football (just wished it was anywhere but Alabama lol), domestic violence, and a sweet protective kid who grew into a sweet protective man when he got his woman back. This is my first book by this author but I’m seriously considering reading the other books in this series.
Oh how I loved this book. Young love is always the sweetest and the purest and we see that between Jordon and Emery. They were just meant for each other. I loved that Jordon didn’t spend any significant amount of time being angry at Emery once she returned in his life. He was just happy to have his best friend back. Jordon and Emery are wonderful characters and even though this was my first time reading a book from this author, it certainly won’t be my last. Highly recommended.
So this is the first book I’ve read by this author and I have to say I absolutely loved it.
Emery and Grady’s story was great. I laughed cried and swooned so much with this one. It’s hard to get me to cry anymore but the stuff the Em and her mom went through was hard! I’m so glad that Em and Grady got their second chance.
I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Jordan & em are next door neighbors two peas and pod but one day she disappears and he doesn’t see her till 4 years later & he may have feelings for his best friend! This rom com will make you laugh and there’s some emotional scenes!
This book was good from beginning to end. The sweetness of the attraction between emery and Jordan started at a young age. You could feel it through the pages. When life torn them apart, you wanted the happily ever after. Enjoyed their reunion and building of their new relationship.
This book is such a great read. One that have a timeless romance that starts as childhood friends. It also addresses domestic violence and really takes a perspective that many do not see. Fantastic read!
This is a story that started off with the girl next door and turned out to be much more. When she was 8 and he was 11 their story started. The abuse that Emery had to deal with that her stepfather was doing to her mom just made her run and hide to get away from it all. Then all of a sudden she was gone and no word from where she went or what happened for 4 years, until he met up with her and then the story unfolds. Great book enjoyed the feeling that came with this book like you were part of the story.
Really good book by a new to me author about a sweet first love and two people who find their way back to each other. The journey isn’t always smooth, but when its meant to be love wins out. I admired Emery’s strength and single minded consistency its refreshing when you think of all the things in life that can and will get in the way, but she didn’t let the obstacles deter her. Just a super sweet feel good romance with a little suspense to keep you eager to turn the pages. Looking forward to more from this author!
Jordan was Emery’s best friend and protector growing up from the time he was eleven and she eight. Emery has been in love with Jordan since the first night she climbed into his bedroom window to get away from her mom and stepdad’s fighting. Much to her dismay Jordan didn’t see it. He only saw her as his best friend. until one day Emery and her mother just up and disappeared without Jordan knowing where they went. Four years after Emery and her mother left to get away from her stepdad she finally finds Jordan at the college he had always told her he would play football for. Emery finally tells him that she loves him and has been in love with him all along. To her shock Jordan feels the same way even though it took him a little longer to get there.
This was such a great story! Although I feel like once they had found each other again it started to feel a little faster paced. Maybe it’s just me. But it still was a fantastic story and will definitely read all the other stories in this series!
Emery sought solace and comfort from Jordan at night when her stepfather’s yelling would scare her and she was unable to sleep. She would climb in his window so she could close her eyes and find some peace. Even though she was three years younger than him, they became fast friends. This went on for many years and during that time, they became best friends and did everything together. Emery attended all of his football games and was his biggest cheerleader. When she turned fifteen things changed; a teenage yearning replaced a light hearted friendship.
Of course good things never last forever and without warning, Emery disappeared without saying goodbye to Jordan. He was devastated-his best friend was gone and it changed him, but not in a good way. Fortunately for Jordan, Alabama football beckoned, and off he went to college with memories of Emery tucked away in his broken heart. He became a different version of himself and he didn’t care how he treated people. He concentrated only on football and trusted no one. His heart still ached for Emery and he would never understand why she had left him.
Until he saw her again.
Why was she here and where had she been?
Jordan needed to know, but wasn’t sure his heart could take it.
“For Emery” is so much more than a sports romance. It touched my heart and made me really feel the deep connection that existed between Emery and Jordan. It is about friendship, understanding and being there when someone needed you the most. It was hard to put the book down and as I turned the pages, my heart beat faster as I followed their journey. This is the first book I have read by J.Nathan and I will definitely be reading more of her passionate stories.
Grady, is part of the football team and a real prick. But he wasn’t always that way. From the beginning when he met Emery it was clear that she was his everything. Even at the tender age of eleven he was such a gentleman. But when she left she took that with him, and he didn’t trust anyone else. Until she came back, and proved that no matter how much time passed you never forget your first love.
Emery, my beautiful girl. I resonated with her so much that I couldn’t just not love her, want to hug her, and hold her tight. So young to see such heartache, to need a protector, but she found it in the perfect person. Loving him was as easy as breathing, and she never knew anything else because she knew he would be her forever. And having to do something so hard, not even having the chance to say goodbye was so sad. I loved her strength and her beauty, she was amazing and straight to the point.
I loved every part of this book. From the moment I read it I was mesmerised, and everyone who reads this book will be hooked as well. Thank you so much for creating such greatness. I can’t wait for more.
I absolutely adore Emery and Grady and everything about their sometimes bumpy journey to a very special HEA that started when they were children. Except of course Wayne, but you’ll see what I mean when you read this amazing book. J. Nathan continues to give us wonderful characters with so much depth to fall in love with in this fantastic series. Grady is so sweet and charming and has always felt so much where Emery was concerned and so protective of her. Emery has always loved Grady (or Jordan since she always called him by his first name) but had no choice but to leave when she did. Circumstances may have kept them apart for 4 years but fate puts them back together again and just in time. Their relationship was always special and her leaving the way she did gutted Grady and really changed him. Emery showing back up in his life made him see that he liked who he was so much more when he was around her and that he really wasn’t happy with who he had become. They have amazing chemistry and I love them together so much! Their story will leave a smile on your face.
