Crosby Parks had the life most guys only dreamed of. A wealthy family, girls vying for his attention, and pro scouts after his hockey skills. But when the life he knows comes crumbling down, he’s sent to Alabama to escape the media storm and to rebuild his life. If Crosby has any shot of playing professional hockey, he must keep a low profile and graduate from college. But the second he steps … foot on campus, keeping a low profile becomes impossible.
Sabrina’s mind is made up. After encouraging Alabama’s star wide receiver to friend-zone her and pursue someone else, she’s determined to focus on herself and stop being everyone’s trusty sidekick and shoulder to cry on. But when she stumbles upon a naked hockey player tied to a tree in the middle of the night, Sabrina’s life is thrown upside down. Because when you leave someone tied to a tree, they eventually get free.
Standalone #3 in the For You New Adult Sports Romance series. Each book follows a new couple and can be read as a complete standalone.

This is the second story that I read by J. Nathan and I am loving this just as much as the first one. It was an enemies to lovers and a sports romance. Two of my favorite tropes. This is the story of Crosby and Sabrina. The characters meet after Sabrina is walking to her dorm and she hears someone calling out to her and she meets Crosby who has been tied naked to a tree. This interaction does not end well and thus the hate/love between them begins.
Crosby has some issues to work out and he just projects an attitude to everyone. Sabrina doesn’t want to get close to him because of this but she senses there is more to him. This was a good quick story even though it is part of a series, you don’t need to read the others to understand this story. You do get to see characters from the other books in the series so it was nice to visit with them and see how they are doing.
The hero was a cocky hockey player who was transferred to a different college but ends up being hazed and tied to a tree. The heroine stumbles upon the hero and tries to help get him loose but he just can’t keep his mouth shut so she walks away. This was a sweet enemy to friends to lovers story. It was a quick read but the story was very well laid out and you never felt some things were just skimmed over. I loved Crosby so much he was angsty yet he let Sabrina in after pushing everyone away. Sabrina refused to let him push her away and pretty much forced her way into his life. They were made for each other and Sabrina was willing to fight hard for her man. Loved this.
This was my first J. Nathan book and it definitely won’t be my last. What a great enemies to lovers story! Crosby and Sabrina had wonderful chemistry and I really enjoyed their banter. Plus, I love me a good hockey book.
“No one wanted to be hurt, and letting people in was a sure-fire way to do that.”
I happened upon J. Nathan’s debut novel by accident and I’ve been patting myself on the back ever since. She’s such a talented author and her stories never fail to keep me engrossed from start to finish.
I have to give the author credit for coming up with a unique way for the two main characters to meet. It makes me smile every time I think about Sabrina finding Crosby tied to a tree… naked.
Of course, Crosby is angry about what had been done to him. But he most definitely took the wrong approach to requesting that Sabrina help him out of his predicament. It’s too bad they didn’t gag him when they tied him up because his mouth just made his situation worse. Sabrina was not one of the simpering puck bunnies who would drool over his physique and do anything he asked. She’d been the wingman for long enough, always there to save the day, listening and supporting everyone else. Well, now it was her turn. She didn’t have time for silly games and arrogant assholes.
For Crosby was so entertaining. The sparks flew between #MrHockey and the #IceQueen from the very beginning. Their arguments were heated and their banter was hilarious. I knew it was just a matter of time before they gave into their attraction, but what fun it was to see them fight it and each other. I was also thrilled to spend more time with Finlay and Caden. As Sabrina’s roommate, Finlay had a front-row seat to the show and I enjoyed her commentary.
As always there are good guys, bad guys, secrets, and surprises as the story unfolds. I was gripping my Kindle with anticipation one minute and then ready to throw it the next. What an amazing cast of characters, including several that I hope to get to know much better in a future installment. The line forms here…
Oh Crosby This book was AMAZING! Crosby is starting at a new school, buying his time until he can make the pros, and trying to move on from a past that has turned his world upside down.
Sabrina just convinced her crush to work things out with his ex when she stumbles upon Crosby who is in a bind. These two quickly become enemies and every time Crosby sees Sabrina he can’t help but try to get under her skin.
After the many run ins with Crosby, Sabrina starts to wonder what is with this guy and why did he switched schools in the middle of a semester. She also doesn’t understand why he lets his teammates treat him they way they do and since she can’t get the answers from him she is forced to find them out for herself.
This book had me in my feels. I loved the enemies to friends to lovers. I loved how independently strong Sabrina was and how she fought for what was right in the end. I am excited for Grady’s story.
I was given a copy of this book by the New Adult Book Club and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
After reading and enjoying the first two books in this series, I was really looking forward to reading the third book ‘For Crosby’. And I’m happy to say that I love it very much! It’s even my favourite book of the ‘For you’ series.
This book is about Sabrina, Finlay’s best friend, so she’s a character that we already met in the previous books. She was a character that I really liked so I was happy to discovered that this book was about her. You don’t have to read the first two books to read this one. It can be read as a standalone but if you have read them you will recognize some characters.
The story is told from both POV’s.
This book is a bit different because Crosby is an ice hockey player and not a football player (like the guys in the previous books). But I love reading about both sports in my books so I was excited that Crosby played ice hockey. But I must confess that I did have my doubts at the beginning of the book about Crosby, I wasn’t sure that I would love him as much as I loved Caden and Forrester. Because he was being arrogant and not so nice towards Sabrina in the beginning of the story. But luckily Sabrina is a girl who knows how to put an arrogant guy in his place. It was a pleasure to read about their encounters and their interactions with each other! There was a lot of chemistry between them. And I must say that the more I got to know Crosby and learned about his past, the more I fell for him… and yes! He’s now my favourite guy of this series!
One of the things that I love about this series is the fact that in each book the writer J. Nathan writes about a specific different, emotional theme but it never gets too dark. I really love how the writer balance everything just right. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series.
I absolutely loved this book and it is a top read this year for me!!! What happens when Mr.Hockey meets the Ice Queen? Let the banter, fun and sparks fly!! This book is a good mix of laughter, heartbreak and sexy!!There is nothing better in a book then getting so invested in the characters that you feel all of their emotions and wish that the book wouldn’t end because you are not ready to let them go! Even though this can be read as a standalone I loved getting to revisit characters from the previous books!! The writing is beautiful and captivating! These characters stayed with me long after I finished reading! I highly recommend reading this sports romance and I can’t wait to see what J.Nathan has in store next!!
OMFG! When I found out that Sabrina was FINALLY getting her very own story I was so freaking excited and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. The moment I started I just knew that this was going to be my favorite in the standalone For You series. Although I absolutely adored the previous two books, I couldn’t help but fall in love with Sabrina’s spunky personality and her fierce attitude towards Crosby (a.k.a. Mr. Hockey).
This story is everything readers look for in a great enemies to lovers story and yet it also gave readers so much more. The witty banter between Sabrina and Crosby made me laugh time and time again. I couldn’t get enough of these two and I was sad when I finally reached the end because I wasn’t ready to part from them.
J. Nathan is an extraordinarily talented author and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next! Fingers crossed it’s another standalone book in this series because I cannot get enough appearances from previous the couples and I would love to see them all once again!
J. Nathan scores with FOR CROSBY, the third book in the For You series. Up-and-coming college hockey star, Crosby Parks, transfers to Alabama in hopes of escaping the media debacle his family left behind. He wants to keep a low profile before entering the NHL draft. Unfortunately, that is easier than it sounds, since his new team decides to tie him naked to a tree on his first day. Enter Sabrina Marshall, who finds him and keeps crossing his path. This contemporary sports romance in suitable for new adult and adult audiences.
J. Nathan does a nice job with both her plot and character development. The story is original and believable. I like that Crosby and Sabrina initially do not get along. I also, appreciated that Sabrina decides what major to declare, as a result, of all the things that happen with them. I felt bad for everything that Crosby went through. Some of the things that happened with his team were cruel. I’m glad Sabrina showed compassion and befriended Crosby. The two have amazing chemistry and fun conversations.
FOR CROSBY is a great example about not judging people because you have no idea what is going on with them. There are interesting twists to the story. It flowed well and held my attention from start to finish.
I have not read the other books in the For You series. I had no problem following this book without reading the other stories. The main characters from those books are friends with Sabrina, so they make numerous appearances in this story. I liked the characters and wouldn’t mind reading their novels: FOR FINLAY (For You, #1) and FOR FORESTER (For You, #2). People that enjoy reading new adult sports romances would enjoy FOR CROSBY. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
For Crosby is book three is the For You series but it can be read as a standalone. This one so far is my favorite one in the For You series. I absolutely love the way Crosby and Sabrina first meet. Crosby comes off as a grumpy, angry guy but he has layers and he’s not as bad as his first impression makes him seem. Sabrina has is a pretty nice girl. She has huge heart. She doesn’t really like Crosby at first but that changes. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. This one is a must read!
This hot, sweet, enemies to lovers hockey romance kept me glued to the pages all afternoon! Sprinkled with humor and great banter to go with a storyline that keeps you hooked from the first page. Not to mention so. many. feels. I loved every second of For Crosby! Sabrina and Crosby are one of those couples you just can’t help but love.
Sparks fly the second they meet. The back and forth between these two while “enemies” just made those sparks burn brighter and hotter. You learn quickly not all is what it seems when you first meet the cocky Crosby. There’s much more to him than meets the eye. Sabrina may have “hated” him, but once this girl with a huge heart learns there’s more to him than arrogance and she sees the real him all bets are off. Those sparks turn into a sweet love that left me swooning like crazy.
EPIC! Holy efff!!! HOT!!!
For Crosby by J. Nathan was amazeballs. Yes, I said amazeballs! For Crosby was like a hook dangling in the water and it caught me.
Sabrina is such a great character that she drew me in with her wit and no filter attitude. Sabrina takes no crap from anyone, especially Crosby. When they first cross each other’s path, she leaves him tied to a tree. Yes, a tree. Naked. That is the start of their hate/love relationship. Crosby has a habit from there to get under her skin and just tick her off.
Crosby is closed off because of his parents. After having to transfer mid-semester to Alabama, the Hockey team is anything but welcoming. When they tie him to a tree he takes it but he also meets Sabrina.
Sabrina tries to avoid Crosby so many times yet, they still come into contact. Sabrina refers to him as Mr. Hockey, an a**hole. As everything unfolds she comes to know the real Crosby, the Crosby that has been hurt. Then the hockey team, mainly one member, making Crosby’s life hell on top of it.
As the story unfolds page by page, you will not want to put this book down. You will have so many questions from the start but trust me, no stone is left unturned. Not to mention, the chemistry they share when they are arguing, fighting, or just getting it on is filled with so much passion.
What happened to Crosby? Why does the team want to ruin him? Can Crosby lower the walls he has built and let Sabrina in?
5 amazeball stars
