“Relationship” is not a four-letter word.Olivia Jennings is all about following the rules. A psychiatrist with a tragic past, she dedicates her life to helping others. Controlling all aspects of her life—especially relationships—protects her battered heart. But when she learns supernaturals exist, her carefully constructed world crumbles. Drawn into counseling a werewolf pack, she butts heads … she butts heads with the ridiculously handsome but infuriating wolf determined to protect her.
Connor Dawson is all about bucking the status quo. He’s not looking for commitment or love. In fact, after being rejected by his pack, he’s certain he’s immune to that particular emotion. But when Olivia inserts herself into wolf business, his hackles stand straight up. No one is more surprised than Connor when their teasing banter turns into serious attraction.
When Olivia and Connor are thrown into the middle of a pack war, things heat up…with an attempted murder, a political power struggle, and their sizzling chemistry. Will this explosive situation finally bring them together—or blow them apart?

I absolutely adored this book! I read it in one sitting. This is not a heavy book, but it still provides some light suspense, mystery, humor and romance. This is book 4 and can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading 1-3 – enjoy yourself! These are G rated and can be read and discussed with your friend, your grandma, your teenager. Fun with a capital F. Olivia is a pistol and the first “meet” with Conner was a laugh out loud moment. I might be gushing on this book because it took me away from all the heavy stuff going on right now. Thank you , thank you A.E. Jones for this awesome arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
After a long gap, AE Jones has returned to her delightful Paranormal Wedding Planners series with For Better or For Wolf, the story of Olivia Jennings, human psychiatrist, and Connor Dawson, werewolf. Olivia doesn’t know that one of her patients is a fairie—or that supernatural beings exist at all. When she finds out it’s in a big way, and she’s drawn into the affairs of the west coast werewolf pack. It seems they need an unbiased expert to assess the mental state of the new Alpha. What could possibly go wrong?
Connor is a member of a sort of supernatural special ops team, working for the Supernatural Council, along with his twin brother Jack, Devin the elf, Charlie the nymph, and Giz the wizard. All the characters from the first three Wedding Planner books are back to see what they can do to solve the pack’s problems—and Connor’s.
The Paranormal Wedding Planner series has one foot in the romance world and one on the mystery shelf, with either foot slipping on the occasional banana peel. The books are bright and funny and thoroughly enjoyable, and I’ve preordered number 5, For Witch or For Poorer.
Olivia and Connor are an amazing couple. This series does such a wonderful job of weaving the world we know with the paranormal world. I really enjoy the humor and romance of it all. I will be reading the next in this series.
If you are looking for a super fun paranormal read, this is without a doubt the book for you! No spoilers in this review, but here’s what you need to know! Great story with wonderful characters that are both well developed and embrace you! The story also had some romance, mystery, and touches on topics that are relevant in real life, but in a very tasteful way! Completely believable and likable! Love this shifter story! Although this book is one in a series, this is the first one I read and had NO problem getting into it and catching on! Also, what it made me want is to go back and read the others! I received an ARC of this book and am sharing my honest review with you. Get this book, I think this book/author/series will quickly find a place on your favorites list.
“You can guide and support, but people have to find the strength to stand up for themselves.”
Dr. Olivia Jennings, psychiatrist, helps a great many people in her practice and she feels pretty settled in her routines…until….she is confronted by the idea that paranormals exist, and that she is needed to help figure out exactly what is going on with the West Coast pack.
As her life gets invaded by twin weres- Jack and Connor Dawson- her safe, routine life becomes anything but….
This is my first A E Jones, but it won’t be my last! I love the bunch of characters the author has developed and can hardly wait to see how much fun the next story will be. High Recommended 5/5
[disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily reviewed it]
Enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance between a commitment-phobic werewolf an a human psychiatrist with a tragic past. He’s a risk taker, she’s a control freak–but both have reasons to protect themselves from relationships. But it’s so much fun to watch these two vulnerable characters fall despite themselves! Can be enjoyed alone but more fun to read the entire Paranormal Wedding Planners series!
Book four in the series is the story of Connor and Olivia. Olivia has been introduced in previous installments as Dr. Jennings therapist to both Alex and Julia. This book is a great deal of fun to read. We have a classic case of opposites Connor the player and Olivia the control freak. Watching their relationship develop is like being on a roller coaster lots of ups and downs but in the end a wonderful ride that was well worth all the turbulence.
We are also introduced to more of the pack that has been so indifferent and cruel to both Conner and his twin Jack (Jack’s story is book three if you haven’t read it I’d highly recommend it). There are some interesting developments for the twins who have had a hard childhood with a downright jerk of a dad. They genuinely like and respect the alpha of the pack Sullivan Ross. His troubles are the background story to Connor and Olivia’s.
I received an ARC from the author. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
Enjoyable! Haven’t read the earlier books but I enjoyed this author’s other series. Had some really funny liners that made me laugh. Reminds me of Nocturne Falls series so if you enjoy that series go read this series! May have to buy the others to read on my upcoming trip.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
Definitely enjoyed Olivia and Connors story. The banter between them was great and you could feel their connection. They both had insecurities from their past to work through along with some intrigue the story will keep you engaged from beginning to end. Strong characters and supporting characters and very well written. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’ve read the three previous books in this series and loved them, so I couldn’t wait to see how book four turns out …..
Olivia is a psychiatrist, but things from her past have turned her into a bit of a control freak. She doesn’t have time for love, but she does have time for others. She likes to put things in order and helping others helps restore the order of things.
Connor is part of an unofficial law enforcement team tasked with making sure paranormals didn’t kill each other or, if they do, then don’t let the humans know about it. The humans aren’t suppose to know the paranormals exist. (Half of his team we’ve met in previous books)
When Olivia finds out that there is “other” beings besides humans in the world, her “ordered” world starts to crumble, but Olivia pulls herself together and says yes to helping the werewolf pack, and wouldn’t you know it, the first supernatural she meets is Connor (but she didn’t know he was a werewolf at the time, she threw a drink in his face after mistaking him for another person!!)
Connor can’t wait to hunt down the woman who threw a drink in his face, but work comes first, and going into the building he works as security for (the wedding business in book one) the last person he expects to see is the young lady who drowned him in a Pina colada!!!
Connor acts as a bodyguard for Olivia, he’s there to protect her whilst she works with the werewolf pack, (the alpha is entering an arranged marriage with a rival pack) but there is something about her that intrigues both the man and wolf, but Connor doesn’t do relationships, he’s all for one night stands and good times, but as he spends more time with Olivia, he might just have to change his opinion.
We also have the matter of Sullivan (the new pack alpha,) he’s been shot, who and why? That’s what Connor aims to find out whilst he’s here. (Connor and his twin were banished by the old alpha, apparently twin wolf cubs are a reason to celebrate!!) But the new alpha wants them back in the pack.
The one liners in this book are snappy and quick, the interaction with previous couples was a nice touch. It had odd moments of hilarity and a few touching and tender moments. An excellent addition the the series.
