What if your first job turned into a treasure hunt?
It’s 1987. Sam is a rookie geologist who finds herself working for a dodgy entrepreneur in the small South American country of Sierramar. At first, it seems as if she has made a mistake. Bored and badly paid, she struggles to adapt; thank goodness for her mad friend Gloria.
When a work trip to the jungle yields a clue to a long-hidden … yields a clue to a long-hidden archaeological treasure, Sam gets involved in an expedition to uncover the truth. But she’s not the only one who is searching, and some will kill to get there first.
Will Sam survive her first adventure?

49% of the book read before anything really happened. More feelings and descriptions than necessary.
A light read. Some action with a lot of words in between. Ending was a little weak I thought.
A women in man’s world, a little bit of mysticism, a little bit of greed, this story kept you guessing
I enjoyed the characters and look forward to reading more of her adventures!
Unexpected ending gives something to wonder about whether it might be true as to the lost gold mysteries.
I enjoyed it. Hadn’t thought about the dangers of searching for artifacts in exotic places or about how beginning a career as a women in a man’s profession might effect those situations.
When the first male character was introduced, I didn’t like him and I thought I would probably not continue reading. However, the female characters were interesting and I kept reading. Eventually, I got so involved in the story and description of the jungle that I even dreamed about it! The ending was good but I was sorry to leave.
Good vacation read
Love this series and happy I found it. I am already on her 4th book and looking forward to the adventure continuing.
Strong female lead, whose character continues to build confidence and strength with each new adventure (job).
Easy reading and entertaining. Learning a bit about geology as I go along.
Well worth the intro & setup of the characters. Good read & great ending!
Keeps you reading until the end
Although this is a story based in part on a legend, it was very realistically written. The characters and what they went through could very well have happened.
Indiana Jones is Audrey Hepburn in this novel take on a naive geologist in over her head.
Great read really enjoyed!
Fun story and really enjoyable protagonist. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
Great, unique heroine, wonderful characters, and non-stop action that was satisfying from start to finish….
Slight negative is that the ebook has a lot of distracting typos in it.
One of the better books I have read this summer.
Very good read
Love the ending
Unlike most exploration books, “Fool’s Gold” was completely unpredictable. It showed a complex arena and the ending was a real shocker. Great Read!
