Welcome to Everlasting, Maine, where there’s no such thing as normal.Anna Crawford is well aware her town is filled with supernaturals, but she isn’t exactly willing to embrace her paranormal gifts. Her aunt says she’s a witch-in-denial. All Anna wants is to live a quiet “normal” life and run her business, Witch’s Brew Coffee Shop and Bakery. But everything is about to be turned upside down the … down the moment Jackson Argent walks into her life.
Jackson isn’t sure why he agreed to come back to his boyhood home of Everlasting. It’s like a spell was cast and he couldn’t say no. Covering the Cranberry Festival isn’t exactly the hard-hitting news this reporter is used to. But when a local death is ruled an accident, and the police aren’t interested in investigating, he takes it upon himself to get to the bottom of the mystery. To do that, he’ll need to enlist the help of the beautiful coffee shop owner.
It soon becomes apparent things are not what they seem and more than coffee is brewing in Everlasting.

I loved this book! Part magic, part mystery, part romance! Even though this is the third book, in a series of 6, this can be read on its own (however, I have already bought the other books and do plan to read them in order). I have spent the past year reading everything I can find by Michelle Pillow, she was my escape from reality in 2020, magic!
Fooled Around and Spelled in Love is the third book in the Happily Everlasting World by Michelle M. Pillow.
This is set up in the magical town of Everlasting where different paranormals live their daily lives, but nobody else outside of this town really knows the mysteries of this town in Maine.
Anna Crawford is a business owner in Everlasting. She owns Witch’s Brew Coffee House and Bakery. She denies her magical abilities and chose to just do things like a normal person. She is very friendly, sweet, and helpful. She donates her baked goods all around town even with the Cranberry Festival, she makes time for her donations.
Jackson Argent is a reporter appointed by his boss to come to Everlasting, his hometown, to report on the mysteries of the town during the Cranberry Festival. Jackson had the ability to send his consciousness out of his body and walk around.
Anna and Jackson are working together to find out the mysteries around who may have offed George, but looking deeply may reveal more than they bargained for.
This was filled with mysteries, twists, romance, humor, and danger. This was fantastic! I absolutely love the build up and the magical aspect of this book. Michelle, I absolutely love all your books! I cannot wait to read more and more from you!

I have been a fan of Michelle M Pillow books for a number of years now. When I heard that Michelle was working on anew project I became excited, but when I also heard it was going to be something totally different from what she normally writes I new in my heart it was going to be different but if it was anything like her past work it will be great. I loved the book, it fresh, funny and had a total awesome story line. She also work with a few different authors on this project, I’ve read them all, each was equally great. I just hope there will be more stories in the near future about Happily Everlasting and it’s people. Michelle once again you’ve rock it with another great story
The books are written by several different authors and this story, by Michelle M. Pillow, takes place in a magical town in Maine. All the main characters are well written, and are likeable. Our main character, Anna Crawford, is the magical heroine, who doesn’t use magic. She meets reporter Jackson Argent, who has been sent to cover a festival taking place in the town. A friend of Anna’s is found dead, and this sets the story into motion. This is a fun book to read, and I’m going to go back and read the others in the series. This is part of a series, but you don’t have to have read the previous books. I received an ARC from the author through BookSprout, and this is my honest opinion.
The characters seem real and well thought out. I adore Aunt Polly and Herman. Sorry I’m with Polly, why can’t she out a tank in the passenger seat? It’s her car!
I laughed and thoroughly enjoyed myself reading this book and will definitely read more in the series.
Anna is keeps herself busy with everything she has going on. Anna believes in hard work and not relying on your magic. Anna is preparing for a busy month. Anna goes to make a delivery and someone leaves her a gift that she can’t wait to use. Anna goes to a party to deliver some of her baked goods and to take a pictures. Anna is a little thrown of by a journalist introducing himself to her. Before he can ask her a question, there is a scream. Anna finds her friend George having some kind of reaction, he is dead before he can get help. Anna knows there is more to what happened to him. Anna and Jason will team to find the truth about what happened. Anna will also have to make decisions about Jason as well
This was a entertaining book to read, you will be done before you know it. There are some unique characters in this book that will give you a laugh as Anna and Jason find a murder and more.

Anna is a witch that lives in Everlasting, Maine with her Aunt Polly. Anna meets Jackson and they become close as they solve a murder together. I found this book easy and fun read. This book had me laughing, Aunt Polly is crazy. Like all of Michelle M. Pillows books, this book was very good. There was humor and of course a bit of romance. I recommend this book for those cozy mystery lovers, you’ll fully enjoy it.
Everlasting, what a town name. LOVE IT! What a town!! OMG I love this story. I will be grabbing all the other stories from this town for sure and more of Aunt Polly! What a character! And Anna? A ‘witch in denial’ of more than just her powers. This book was funny, sweet, frustrating (in a good way) and entertaining. On to the next adventure! Fooled Around and Spelled in Love (The Happily Everlasting Series, #3)
This is book 3 but my first introduction into this world. It really can be read as a stand-alone which is awesome. I am now going to go read the other 6. This was a wonderfully hilarious suspenseful story and I love Aunt Polly. So many quirks of a small town make it relatable and just a wonderfully different love story.

I enjoyed reading this book , about Anna and Jackson. The way they go about solving the mystery is entertaining and humorous. The interaction and chemistry between them is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This is a super fun, and sweet paranormal cozy mystery. Loved it! It is cute and entertaining, with romance and great characters.

If you are looking for a mystery that will keep you laughing then look no further than this book. Michelle M. Pillow does a great job at sucking you in from beginning to end. The character work is fantastic and the story line is terrific as I have come to expect from this author.

Anna a witch in denial, afraid of the cost of doing magic and Jackson a cynical reporter looking for the truth lead us through a twisty suspenseful murder mystery. Sarcasm, witty repartee, and looney Aunt Polly keep us laughing along the way. The chemistry between Anna and Jackson adds just enough romantic angst without delving into eroticism. The town of Everlasting has so many colorful characters of supernatural persuasions I can’t wait for the next hilarious tale in this series.
A truly magical murder mystery! I never saw it coming! The world building was fantastic & the characters are absolutely lovable! Aunt Polly was the comical relief and was so hysterical. I adore her.
This book has magic, murder, comedy & love. A must read in every aspect. Michelle M Pillow can do no wrong. I highly recommend!
This story has a good story to it but i did find myself skipping through the book alot as its geniunely not the sort of book i would normally read.Saying that it did have some interesting characters that was fun.

Michelle Pillow has another hit in this story; love and murder are quite a combination. This is the 3rd story in “The Happily Everlasting Series” and was just great. This story revolves around Anna Crawford, the young witch who denies her heritage and Jackson Argent, the reporter sent to cover Everlasting’s annual cranberry festival and the unusual magical happens that occur in the quaint New England town. The attraction between these two is there but an untimely death puts that attraction on the back burner while these two set out to solve the death when an lackluster and unmotivated detective writes off the death as an unfortunate medical reaction. Anna’s Aunt Polly makes another appearance and what a kick this woman is. I liked how the clues were spun out and I for one didn’t suspect who the culprit was or what motive led to the death. A victim being driven by heritage and and a doting family member caught me off guard. I was given this book via Booksprout as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Everlasting is a perfectly normal town if you are supernatural. Anna runs a bakery and works full time and keeping her aunt out of trouble. When her close friend Gary dies she will team up reluctantly with the new guy in town. Jackson is a reporter and he really wants to get to know Anna better. Working together will definitely bring some sparks. Now if only Anna could trust her heart and her aunt. This was my first read by this author and it was a hit with me!
Totally enjoyable read, I purchased the audio too and let me tell you it is a hoot! So much crazy that the residents dont blink an eye. Recommended. I am really enjoying this author.
Lighthearted Reading Entertainment
Cozy Mystery
No memorable harsh language
No violence
Sex – No details, we just know it happened. Someone who’s incredibly naive might not figure it out.
For Grammarians: Yes, there are a few mistakes, but nothing that makes you want to stab your book or Kindle with an icepick.
For those who haven’t read the other “Happily Everlasting Series” books, the town of Everlasting is populated by many citizens with special gifts or heritage. Some may be shape shifters, others can do magic, and at least one is a ghost confined to the lighthouse and its surrounding property.
As far as I can tell, each story is written by a different author, and they must be having a great time doing this. Also, it doesn’t seem like you would need to read them in order.
Plot no spoilers:
A handsome reporter, Jackson, comes to town to report on the cranberry festival. Anna, the main character, is immediately attracted to him, but fears her Aunt Polly has cast a love spell on the two of them, so is reluctant to become too involved.
This being a cozy mystery, there’s a cozy (?) murder, and the two become involved in whodunit.
If you’re in need of potato chips for the mind, this series is probably for you.
Enjoy
Received a copy from book funnel. Love the story and the characters. Entertaining, interesting with a few chuckles along the way.
