I met Keegan when I was on the beach in Florida. He literally crashed into my world. I wasn’t looking for romance, but his two-dimpled charm made my heart go haywire. We both had one thing in common: we were here to escape our realities. One week. Just the two of us. Not a care in the world. I didn’t know it at the time, but that week would forever change my life.Four years later, and as fate would … life.
Four years later, and as fate would have it, Keegan and I are brought together again.
It’s as if the universe is telling us this is our second chance.
The more I get to know him, the harder I fall.
Falling hopelessly in love is inevitable with a man like him.
Only the joke’s on me, because the guy I’m falling for isn’t the man I thought he was.
You know how the saying goes: Fool me once…
I’ll be damned if I’m fooled again.
Fool Me Once is a standalone romance

I have come to really enjoy Nikki’s books and this book did not disappoint!
Blakely and Sierra are sisters who are pretty close until tragedy causes Sierra to withdraw and distance herself. Sierra wants to go on a trip and the only way their guardian will allow it is if Blakely goes. Blakely decides to go in parts she hopes that it will bring her and Sierra closer again. Blakely is left alone on this vacation but she meets Keegan and he helps to pass time. Keegan and Blakely have undeniable chemistry but they also get each other and connect pretty quickly. They know that they have limited time and makes the best of it. Their vacation forever changed their lives! I love the progression of the story, as a reader you were able to see where the story begin and how it progressed. This was an excellent read. There funny moments, sad moments, and then love all around. The supporting characters were a great addition. This is a book you will not want to put down!
Oh how i loved Keegan.
He was one of book boyfriends i instantly fell for.
It took me a little while to get into but once i concentrated properly i was well away.
I really liked how Keegan and Blakely met, and everything after it.
Blakely was sweet and i felt sorry for her, life hasn’t been easy for her but she ploughed through.
I wasn’t keen on the sister at first but she grew on me.
It was a very enjoyable reads and it has one of my favourite tropes!
Well worth the read!
I loved Blakely and Keegan and their story. I love how they meet and how he brings out her fun side but how she can bring him wanting things he didn’t know he wanted right now. The two of them together are the perfect combination. This book definitely kept me smiling and turning the pages.
This was my first Nikki Ash novel and I cannot express enough how much I loved it!!
Fool Me Once touched on several tropes which is why I think it touched on so many of my emotions. The story began with a heavy look on the relationship between Blakely and her sister Sierra. The family they now were, the family they lost, and the connection that Blakely was deeply trying to regain with her only remaining family member. There were so many times their relationship reminded me of my daughters and the times they have been close or struggled with their own battles. It broke my heart in pieces reading it and I needed Blakely to find some happy.
When Blakely first meets Keegan it is just meant to be a fling, something to boost her spirits out of the slump she was in and definitely there were to be no feelings involved. At least that is what she kept telling herself. When they parted ways after spring break and she left with a part of Keegan and no way to contact him, her life drastically changed, but perhaps not all changes were a bad thing. How often do we fool ourselves that we aren’t invested, but turn out the bigger fool in the end? Been there and done that.
Four years come and go and the most important people in Blakely’s life are her sister and the one friend who has always been there for her, Brenton. While she only sees him as a friend, he has other ideas. By luck or fate, when Blakely actually runs back into Keegan and he once again turns her life upside down, Brenton doesn’t exactly like the idea of being set aside. Blakely isn’t sure how to make everyone happy, but she also knows she needs each person in her life as they are all important to her. This is the ride and the journey that will make your heart race. What will happen? What has happened? GAH!! What I will tell you is that it is like riding a rollercoaster; you will be really glad you got on once the ride is over, but you might scream during the ride.
Fool Me Once is an emotional ride. It’s heartwarming at times, shocking at others, and such a journey you won’t want to miss it.
Readers will jump for absolute joy when they get their hands on Nikki Ash’s new release Fool Me Once. Set in the sunny sands of Florida, Ash brings together Blakely and Keegan during a week long spring break that changes the course of their lives forever.
Now, as a huge fan of Ash’s I’d say this is sounding vaguely similar right? Ash’s debut novel, Fighting for a Second Chance from her successful Fighting series is set up very similarly. Guy and girl meet have a one time fling, unexpected pregnancy and years later end up finding each other again. I was a huge fan of the first novel’s premise, so again this was a win for me.
Although there are similarities as all books have within a trope, I will say there were enough differences to make this book successful. Blakely and Sierra are two sisters that share a deeply complex shared past after the death of their parents and later their grandmother. The only family they have is each other until fate reunites Blakely with Keegan. Keegan and his family help heal the wounds for both sisters making this story so much more than your average run of the mill romance.
Ash also brings the heat. While there is a lot of deep, emotional moment, Ash still didn’t forget to bring the heated lust driven sex scenes she’s famous for in her novels. Each scene was driven, focused on bringing the characters closer together while also providing that sought after sexual tension all romance readers want.
Which leads me to another thing I look for in a romance novel… Conflict. And boy, does Ash bring this one in spades. Can someone say PLOT TWIST. Boy, Ash pulled one over on this old girl’s eyes because I totally didn’t see that one coming AT ALL. Without spoiling it for you I will say not only did Ash get me once with her revelations, but twice all that the end of this novel.
Fool Me Once was yet another incredible novel by Ash. Relationships, second chances at love and unexpected plot twists are just a few of the wonderful things you’ll find between this book’s pages. From one romance lover to another, don’t hesitate to snatch this one up.

This was a quick, fun, smexy read with a nice little twist that I didn’t see coming, but definitely helped bring everything together in an interesting way.
I loved Keegan and Blakely. Blakely is strong, focused and determined. She has a huge heart and gives as good as she gets. Keegan is simply a really good man. Charismatic and protective the man was simply lethal.
Blakely and Keegan’s journey to their second chance HEA was a fun one. I enjoyed experiencing their first collision, but it was their second that kept me turning the pages. I loved how well the flowed and the chemistry between them was undeniable. But what got me the most washow open and honest they were about what they felt for each other and how they handled a very big situation right from the start. Of course not everything can run smoothly and the twist that was tossed into the mix was definitely an interesting one, but I loved how everything worked out for them in the end.
This was a fun read. I really enjoyed how the majority of the issues that arose in this book were handled. As for the characters, all were well written and with an exception or two, I really liked them all and wouldn’t have minded spending a little more time with Sierra and Kolton, but I’m happy with what I got. There are a couple of things that could be triggers for some, but overall this was a fun, sweet and smexy romance with just enough drama to keep things interesting.

This book wow loved it I needed a good surprise baby romance haven’t read one in a while. I loved blakely and Keegan they where great together. Zane had me cracking up I love that little boy! Nikki Ash is amazing at doing books like this one!
This story hooked me from the first page. I do love a second chance romance and the chemistry between the characters certainly was electric! The steady build-up of feelings had me immersed in the story with them, willing them on. The swoony lead and the standoffish heroine were just perfect, the writing kept me enthralled the whole way through, I laughed and had a few happy tears. Then, throw in a splash of drama and it was all I could do to put my kindle down and be an adult!
Keegan is a spectacular specimen of man from start to finish and he knows how to treat a woman in and out of the bedroom. He and his family are wonderful people and I feel I know them all personally.
Blakey is so controlled and focused, from teen to adult she is singularly determined to be all that she can be and nothing will stand in her way. Her relationship with her sister, strained to start with, was fantastic to watch grow. I admired Blakely very much.
I would happily recommend you buy this book ASAP! You are in for a treat.
