This is the first cowboy romance I’ve read in years and I throughly enjoyed this book. With the two best friends off on the adventure to redefine their lives and the misadventures and adventures they endure. And what if they find love on the way just makes it that just more romantic.
Following The Path of Love is a western romance filled with suspense. Two girls raised in an orphanage in Chicago that were like sisters hit the road to Kansas to make themselves a new life. Little did they know that before they reach Kansas their stagecoach is held up, and to protect a young boy on the stagecoach that was going to be taken hostage for money, June lies and tells them she is the daughter of the mayor of the next town over and they agree to take her and leave the little boy with his rich grandma. Sierra is telling June to not go but she could not let them take the little boy. She tried to keep the lie going so she does not slip up and let them find out she is lying. When they finally get to camp the leader, Ryker is very upset that they have took a hostage as they don’t do that. They only rob people that has lots of money and not poor people. They are the most polite robbers as they never kill and usually never take hostages. Ryker has to decide what to do with her as if he lets her go, then she could tell and he would lose his reputation. So he goes along with the ransom. Over the weeks it takes to get to the next town, Ryker falls in love with June and does not want to let her go.
This entire time, Sierra reaches the first town since the robbery and gets the sheriff involved in hunting June. Hunter has been hunting Ryker for several years. He would love to be able to catch him and thinks this is his chance. Hunter and Sierra takes out on their way to the next town to see if they can catch Ryker and get June back. While they are together they too are falling for each other. And the night that the robbers are to take June to the mayor’s house, the lie is found out. But Hunter has a idea to pretend he is her brother and will pay the ransom. Everything hinges on this moment. Will they catch Ryker and get June back, or will they loose both of them forever?

Carol Colyer has given us a story of love, faith, and to triumph over all! A Must Read!
I really enjoyed this book! There was romance, mystery and a lot of happiness! I recommend this book to all who read romance books!
I probably overuse that as a title but in this case it fits. The four main characters in this book are so interesting. Ryker and Hunter would appear to be opposites but are they really or is it just their occupations. Leaving Chicago for Kansas, June and Sierra had no idea of how their lives would change. I enjoyed watching them grow and change. Remember to read the Extended Epilogue A keeper by Carol Colyer.
