I once had what I thought were small dreams. Dreams that I was never sure if I would have the chance to pursue. Even so, I had been content. Happy. Or so I thought. All that changed when Killian entered my life. But just as quickly as he lifted me up, he shoved me down so far I didn’t think I would ever have the strength to find myself again. Now those dreams that I had thought so small and … and possible had been ripped from me. Everything had been ripped from me. Gone was the possibility and contentment. Nothing but pain and destruction lay in its wake.
But fate wasn’t done playing with me just yet. It had one more cruel trick up its sleeve.
He was looking for me now. Scouring the earth for me. Love and pain dueled together, dragging us kicking and screaming back to one another.
I may be hidden now, but once he found me, I knew I wasn’t ever getting away from him again.
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to even try.
Because my small dreams were growing into something big. Bigger than anything I could have ever imagined. And every single one of them was fueled and held close by the very alien that had crushed them before.
This story is not a standalone romance and is highly recommended that you read the Kilbus Lord series from the beginning.

I will read every single book in set in this universe until Erin Reagan stops writing them. They are brilliant. Start with Pythen and watch this universe unfold. Fantastic books.
Killian was a bit sly, amusing, protective, and still a growly alpha male character . Theo was loyal, fiercely protective of her family, adaptable, and a wee bit to forgiving when it came to Killian but I would have been also lol. I enjoyed the adventure, the relationship development between Kill and Theo, the humor, and the secondary characters. It was an entertaining read that I would recommend.
This story was one, bumpy ride!! What an adventure! Kil is infuriating, but Theo just can’t resist him. I love their little game. I couldn’t resist Killian, either! I just want more… you could write a novella to give me some more of the steamy stuff. Anyway, this was a page-turner. 4 stars!
I have waited for what feels like forever for this book and I couldn’t be happier with the reunion I have anticipated. The drama, betrayal, romance and everything alien was absolutely amazing!
Although short it got straight to the point, which I both hate and love with Erin Raegan’s books. I loved jumping immediately into the drama and action with Theo and crew imprisoned and then the alien invasion and the dramatic reunion, but I of course didn’t want the story to end so quickly as it did. I was way into the story and was in love with the developing romance and reconciliation between Theo and Killian. I loved their banter, flirting and the mind reading aspect thrown into all of that. Most of all I was in love with the resentment and drama they had to work through. Maybe because of the book being short it made everything I loved being more apparent, but I still would have wanted it to be longer and get more of an epic conclusion to Theo and Killian’s story.
Not that the ending wasn’t great. I am a sucker for HEA and they really couldn’t have gotten a better happy ending. However I feel like there were things still left in he air. Like the button for example, why didn’t it work? Who betrayed the Kilbus lord when they tried to hide the humans presence? And there were things that were just breezed over, like Killian talking about his life and that leading to Theo softening her anger towards him. I would have liked to see that happening instead of being just told about it as an afterthought. As much as I loved the alien aspect and kilbus culture that too was very much left in the air with not much information. Apparently the beads in his hair had some meaning as well as her being queen. It started to build into some explanation, but I never really got it.
All in all though, I was captured and held in the book from beginning to end and was fully invested to what happened to the characters I’ve come to love. Giving this book anything other than five stars would be an insult. Sure, there were more I would have wished from the story, but that really could be said about any book. The fact that I loved it so much that I’m disappointed that it was over so quickly only proves that it’s a five star story.
