Why run from your troubles when you can fly instead? When Caity Shaw is fired from her first job that doesn’t require an elf uniform, her older sister, Rachel, an event planner, hires her to work a meeting in Dublin. Caity jumps at the opportunity to travel abroad and escape her pathetic life. However, even four thousand miles from home, there’s no avoiding debt collectors, an overbearing mother, … overbearing mother, and haunting memories of a controlling ex.
While in Dublin, Caity suffers a series of humiliating mishaps, causing her to lose even more faith in herself. Caity struggles to earn Rachel’s respect—and to keep Declan, her hot Irish coworker, at arm’s length. Declan repeatedly saves Caity’s butt and helps boost her self-confidence, making it difficult to keep her distance from the charming womanizer. When Declan helps her research her Irish grandmother, Caity discovers the mysterious past of the courageous woman she barely knew might hold the answers to her future.

I cannot wait to read the next one!!!!
This was a great book. There were some really funny parts that made me laugh and laugh. I could also relate with some of the characters and I liked how things ended up. It felt real, yet it was entertaining. It wasn’t super heavy, but still a substantial read. And the story’s not over, so I’m looking forward to the next book! Definitely recommend it for a light and enjoyable read.
I thought this was a very good book. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Quick read! All of us have felt inadequate at sometime, but Cairo had been taught well to feel that way! This story is unpredictable, entertaining, a little suspenseful and heartwarming.
The main character has recently gotten out of an abusive relationship and is trying to get her life back together by working for her sister in Ireland for a special event. Every time something goes wrong, she starts to beat herself up, but realizes that is what her ex had been doing to her. She keeps making the effort to trudge on and begins to have faith in herself.
I like that, even though she had some romantic feeling toward a guy, she realized that she had to make it on her own before jumping into another relationship. The self-dialogue after leaving an abusive relationship is very realistic, but there is not so much that it drags the story into being preachy.
Good beach book, light and easy reading. Funny!
This was a fun, easy to read book with Ireland as the background. Good vacation read!
The main character is believable and you can feel/understand the emotions very well. It felt very realistic with things that would naturally happen and didn’t feel forced. Trying to get on your feet, struggling but doing better than you think you are, wondering what you should do with your life even after college – all very easy to relate too. I appreciated that while she was interested in a person romantically she was also smart, while being human about it.
I wasn’t sure but I think I would read the series.
The writer uses humor to lighten the serious subject of a young woman (Caity) recovering from a mentally abusive relationship, and not much else going right in her life. I believe anyone who has suffered from low self esteem can relate to Caity, as every stumble she takes seems a major catastrophe to her. Her endearing character made me want to hug her or give her a high-five as the story unfolded. I’m glad I chose to read it.
Relatable character. I can’t wait to read the second book.
Quick cute read, book one of a series.
Cute book, easy reading and entertaining
Loved this book. Ready for more from this author
Quick read. I somehow thought there would be more to it, but it was a nice journey for the character who made a start art self discovery. Enjoyable.
I really enjoyed reading this book and the others in the series. My only negative is that they are over too quickly. However, that is a good thing for the author as she leaves you wanting more and moves you into her next book.
Sweet story. Entertaining story about gaining self-confidence and finding one’s way in life. Not unlike other less worldly, nails who need experiences to make their way in the real world.
I actually got bored with this book and skipped the middle.
It was average. Event planner focused with lots of bumbling and family drama.
The characters are not smoothly written.
Story and title, cover picture doesn’t match.
