Why run from your troubles when you can fly instead? When Caity Shaw is fired from her first job that doesn’t require an elf uniform, her older sister, Rachel, an event planner, hires her to work a meeting in Dublin. Caity jumps at the opportunity to travel abroad and escape her pathetic life. However, even four thousand miles from home, there’s no avoiding debt collectors, an overbearing mother, … overbearing mother, and haunting memories of a controlling ex.
While in Dublin, Caity suffers a series of humiliating mishaps, causing her to lose even more faith in herself. Caity struggles to earn Rachel’s respect—and to keep Declan, her hot Irish coworker, at arm’s length. Declan repeatedly saves Caity’s butt and helps boost her self-confidence, making it difficult to keep her distance from the charming womanizer. When Declan helps her research her Irish grandmother, Caity discovers the mysterious past of the courageous woman she barely knew might hold the answers to her future.

Hilarious and touching all at the same time.
very funny
The story was enjoyable, easy to read, and in a setting that was new to me! It draws you in and you feel like you are part of the company working along side of your well known co-workers and all their quirks. It was really funny, especially in that embarrassing way you know has happened to you. Looking forward to the next book in th series.
A totally enjoyable book that you will not want to end.
I loved the depth of the characters in this book. The author brought them to life before your very eyes. From the description of Ireland I felt like I was there experiencing the country side with them. I highly recommended this book couldn’t put it down.
The story started in this book was so much fun to read that I also bought the other 3 books. Great story. Very relatable to anyone like me, interested in genealogy, especially from Ireland.
What a delightful, emotional, and charming read!!! I know you usually don’t use the words delightful, charming, and emotional together, but that is truly what this book is!!!!
Caity has had her life completely turned upside down, and her older sister, Rachel, an event planner, has hired her to assist in a meeting in Dublin…and Caity certainly needs this respite. Rachel has no clue what Caity has endured, and Caity is always comparing herself to Rachel. As she is learning the ropes, she experiences some bumps along the way, but she also discovers important things about herself.
Yes, there is a possibility of a romance, but her potential relationship with Declan, her co-worker, will be a slow developer. That is the way it should be. I’m so glad the writer didn’t rush this part of the story. Caity still has so much to find out about herself before embarking on a relationship. Declan is a wonderful friend to her. He makes her laugh, and he helps her find her confidence again.
I’m so glad I got the opportunity to read this novel. It deals with some serious issues, but the writer deals with it in such a sensitive way….this is the emotional part. I loved the way it was written, it makes me want to travel, and the characters were very well fleshed out….this is the charming and delightful part. I’m so happy this is part of a series. I can’t wait to see where Caity is going to take me next!!!!
This is a lighthearted and fun book – perfect for anyone looking for an escape. I couldn’t put it down and I loved every second I spent reading it.
I liked this book! The characters are very real and well thought out, especially Caity. Sometimes it was hard for me to put the book down.
This is a fun book with serious issues that increase interest. Caity is an emotional mess but trying hard to get better. Her new friend, Declan, is a real peach!
I enjoyed the book very much.
This would be a good beach read.
Caity needed someone to trust and value her to build her confidence, and the story illustrated the progress well.
I am looking forward to reading the next one.
I could totally relate to Caity! It made the book that much better and I can’t wait to see where the next book takes her!
A little predictable, but works for an entertaining beach read!
Don’t know any specific reason but I enjoyed this book.
This girl could not catch a break but then she could!
I loved the quirky characters and situations! The fact that Caity is starting to trace her ancestry in Ireland is like a great bonus!
Like it so much I bought the other 2 books in the series and can’t wait to read them!
It was good, I ended up buying the sequels too!
i want to read the others in the series
