Fun, quick read.
I enjoyed this third book in the top-flight series. This one is about Flyboy (Colton) & Tenderfoot (Ivy). Ivy is critical of Colton’s way of flying & not hesitant to criticize him to his boss. Colton is not happy about it but thinks he can “win her over” by having her as part of his team on a job in South America. There are sparks that fly & secrets revealed.
OH!MY! Handsome pilots and daring adventures will captivate readers. I’m looking forward the the final installment in this series.
Recommend to readers who enjoy clean, contemporary romance.
I borrowed a copy from Kindle Unlimited. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
The third book in the Top Flight series, Flyboy: A Fighter Pilot Romance, by Sophia Summers, is a fun read with some great depth. I loved the beginning clash but also the gravitational pull that Flyboy and Tenderfoot had towards each other. Their romance was sweet and clean yet spicy. The ending was just right and had some unexpected twists. Great addition to this fun series!
I really enjoyed reading this book! It is about some pilots who have a group to teach other people how to fly better! I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance reading about pilots and their craft!
Colton Bushman is a charmer. He comes across as devil may care and reckless but underneath he’s caring of others, helpful and courteous. Ivy Hatfield could not be more opposite, at least in her job, if she tried. She’s about as buttoned down as them come; all about the rules and obsessive about safety. Paired up for a six month training mission these two get to know the person outside their personas. That knowledge gives them an understanding of each other and their feelings. It’s true opposites do attract.
Flyboy is the third book in the Top Flight series and is about Colton and Ivy. He is heading a team for fighter jet training in Brazil and, although Ivy lodged a formal complaint regarding Colton’s recklessness in the cockpit, he chooses her to accompany him. There is a strong chemistry between Colton and Ivy and each decide to see where those feelings take them.
This novel is written well with a cohesive plot. The characters are multidimensional and relatable. The author introduces her readers to some of the Brazilian culture, which I found appealing. She also touches on PTSD and how it can impact one’s quality of life. Although there was no “wow” factor in this story, it was a pleasant, clean and entertaining read. 4 stars
Flyboy is a fun to read, well-written romance. I loved Colton (Flyboy) and Ivy as characters and their relationship–Two steps forward and one step back sort of thing. Both of these characters are fleshed out and easy to empathize with. I’m not normally into settings, but Sophia Summers does a great job painting a picture for her readers without slowing down the story line. The plot has some twists, and the dialogue flows naturally. There are some swoony kisses in this clean romance. I hope to read all of the Top Flight books and definitely plan to read more of this author’s works.
I got my copy through KU.
Flyboy is a sweet romance within the realm of the fighter pilot world. Colton Bushman is known for his advanced flying skills in the pilot world while Ivy Hatfield is a by the books girl- at least as a pilot. These characters play off each other well with tension as they work together and then the sparks fly when they are off duty.
While I enjoyed reading this book, the final conflict of the story seemed to lack a full resolution. It did not quite seem finished and needed a little more time to see the characters find their happily ever after. I look forward to the next book in the series to see a little more of what happens with these characters. Sophia Summers creates beautiful worlds and great characters which always makes her stories a good read.
What a fantastic book. I loved the setting and characters so much. This series is taking readers all over the world and it is such a nice change of pace.
The top gun aspect of these books can’t be beat. I love reading about the flight training and the maneuvering they do. I also love the passion they have for their job.
Flyboy is my favorite so far I think. I love how he is always there for the people around noon whether they are co-workers, friends, or strangers.
I related quite a bit with Ivy. She’s a rule follower. But I liked that she was learning new ways of seeing things.
Both characters grew a lot throughout this book both individually and in their relationship. I liked how their thoughts, opinions, and even fears surfaced and were dealt with. It was very down to earth.
I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. This is my honest review.
I love this clean “Top Gun” like series! This story is a work place romance, fighter pilot style located mostly in Brazil. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
I have received an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own.
Colton is a risk taker, Ivy is cautious, oil and water, right? When Colton asks for Ivy on his team he is determined to prove to her that his flying can save lives and sometimes you can’t go by the book. What ensues is a another thrilling training for top flight. What is unexpected is how much these two really have in common and what the underlying reasons are for the risks they do or don’t take.
While this is a fun read that doesn’t take a long time, there are still deep issues that are addressed as they come out during the course of their mission in Brazil. I really enjoyed this quick read and the way things were addressed. I look forward to the rest of this series.
A fun read, I enjoyed Colton and Ivy’s relationship story. I felt like the story line flowed really well and the development between the two main characters showed how opposites attract, though they weren’t really so much opposites as they were misunderstood. I enjoyed that there was more depth to Colton and Ivy and the way Colton respectfully held back wanting to make sure Ivy really was interested in him. My favorite part was the fun immersion into Brazilian culture, which the author did a really good job with. A clean contemporary romance, this is a quick read with great chemistry.

My thoughts about this book:
• The author’s use of a flight school as the driving background for this romance was unique and made this book an absorbing and interesting read.
• I liked the conflict between Ivy and Flyboy. Was Flyboy a careless, dangerous pilot as Ivy claims? Or is she prejudging him based on her own flying and life experiences? Can Flyboy and Ivy put their different perceptions on how to train fighter pilots aside to find love?
• The ending of this novel was a little rushed and it felt somewhat incomplete.
I was given an advance copy by the author. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. I enjoyed reading this book and I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.
Triggers, we all have them but usually they don’t include high speed fighter jet maneuvers or sharks. Sophia Summers has given us a wonderful story of fear, love, pushed buttons and life altering decisions. I really enjoyed Flyboy and Ivy’s story.
I’m loving this series! I may have read this book pretty much in an afternoon. It’s my favorite so far in the series, I couldn’t put it down!
This book features Colton, also known as Flyboy. I loved his whole vibe. He’s a cowboy turned fighter pilot. And you can tell in the way he treats people, especially women. It was fun to watch him with Ivy. But I really loved watching him with the others around him. The landlady of their rental house, the kids in the country and the nanny who needed a friend, he was amazing with all of them. He just has a way with people.
Then there’s Ivy. One of the funniest things about this plot was that Ivy complained about Colton in a very long, very detailed letter at the start of the book. He still chose her to be on his team for his assignment. And they worked very well together. I loved Ivy. It was fun to see things through her eyes. I loved watching her and Colton fall in love.
The last chapter was awesome. I read it twice. If you love sweet romance, pick this one up, it’s the best!
I was sent an e-copy of Flyboy as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
What a fun story!! This is my second read in the Top Flight series and my favorite so far. I loved this opposites attract/ almost enemies to lovers story of Colton and Ivy.
Colton’s a daring cowboy-pilot and Ivy’s a rule-follower with very few exceptions. Ivy definitely had preconceived notions about Colton and wasn’t shy stating how she felt about his “reckless behavior”. Colton knew all about her “clipboard-carrying exactness” but he didn’t know what made her such a stickler for following the rules.
These two had to learn to get along if they were going to work together for 6 months, and I loved watching that happen. Ivy surprised Colton by some of the risks she took, which went against her by-the-book persona, and Ivy learned there was more to Colton than just what she called reckless flying. He was kind to others like the stranded nanny and her charges, and brought others into his circle by playing street soccer with them. These two had to learn that they were more alike than they wanted to admit to themselves and each other.
I’m really enjoying this series and hope to get a peek at how Colton and Ivy are doing in the next book.
Such a fun addition to the Top Flight series! Colton is an easy going, fun loving guy and so he often clashes with another Top Flight instructor, Ivy, who is a “by the book” type of gal. When they are on the same assignment for six months, they have to constantly confront their conflicting personalities as well as their attraction for each other.
More than simply accepting Colton’s personality, Ivy has to deal with issues in her past in order to embrace her true self, to decide it was okay to be who she is and not live in fear. I loved the chemistry between Colton and Ivy as they discover they are more alike than they think! There were some really fun side characters too like Omar and Fatima.
I would love to see what happens with Ivy and Colton and hopefully we get peek in Mustang’s book that comes next.
I received a complimentary copy from the author but am voluntarily sharing my own opinion.
This is the third book in the series and I really enjoyed it. Colton and Ivy were part of the team, teaching a group of top notch pilots, in Brazil. The story was fun and sweet, Colton always had his eyes set on Ivy. But Ivy saw Colton as a hot shot show off. Will they be able to see each other in a new light, after working together? The characters worked well together and the author described southern Brazil beautifully. This is a clean sweet romance. I am excited for Mavericks (Amanda) story.
This is the third book in the Top Flight Fighter Pilot Romance series. I really like this series and I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters. I really loved how Colton and Ivy had to overcome some misunderstanding. I liked how Ivy learned that there were more sides to Colton than just his risky behavior side. I loved how they were a really good match and had a lot in common. I also loved where it was set and how Sophia Summers described Brazil. I think this is a fun series and I love reading the love stories about each of the founders of Top Flight.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
