House sitter wanted. Naked men need not apply…After months working on an oil rig in the Atlantic Ocean, engineer Jo Blaine can’t wait to get home. Her job is tough, and she is desperate for some long overdue girl time. The last thing Jo needs when she walks through her front door is to find a strange man staying in her house. When she learns that her uninvited guest is none other than Stephen … is none other than Stephen Hardy, she’s tempted to head straight back out to sea.
Stephen has always felt guilty for the part he played in ruining Jo’s life years earlier and immediately jumps at the chance to make things up to her by looking after her apartment and her giant cranky cat. It takes some fast talking, but Jo is finally convinced to let him stay. And by the time she leaves for her next shift at work, they’re both eagerly anticipating her return.
But as they grow closer, it soon becomes clear Jo is hiding something about her past that is coming back to haunt her. After a lifetime of taking care of herself and her sister Amy, Jo isn’t used to sharing her problems, especially when they involve her messy family history. But when threats start to escalate, Jo must decide whether to trust Stephen before her stubborn independence places them all at risk…

What an enjoyable way to spend a few hours was Fly In Fly Out.
Childhood traumas, long distance relationships, finding a way back to trusting again – Stephen and Jo’s story has a bit of it all.
I enjoyed the banter between all the characters. I laughed out loud at times, I screamed in frustration at others.
I loved watching Jo and Stephen come together through all their turmoils, the struggles with maintaining a long distance relationship. I got annoyed at times with Jo keeping her secrets when all people want to do is help her. I could understand why, but it still didn’t stop my being annoyed lol.
I loved the Australian setting, though I haven’t been to that side of my country yet! I will get there one day!
A good, enjoyable read.
Jo and Amy Blaine left their hometown over 10 years ago. Most people think it’s because Jo got embarrassed and shamed, but very few know the truth. Years later, Jo is a tougher than nails engineer on an oil rig. She needs someone to house-sit her apartment and cat. Enter Stephen Hardy to do the job, but Jo doesn’t know about it–her friends arrange it. Stephen still feels guilty for running Jo out of town years ago, so he tries to make it up to her by moving into her apartment while she’s away on the job. When she returns on a break, she is surprised to find Stephen in her place. More than the embarrassment that she still feels about the situation from before, she also realizes she still has a crush on him. How is she going to sleep with that man across the hall?!
This was a great book with strong characters, real-life situations, and lots of fun! I can’t wait for the next few books about Amy and Scott’s love stories.
If you read after Love Imperfect, as I did, you will encounter some spoilers and less emotional turmoil because you will know how it ends. Having said that. I loved it.
A different kind of HEA.
The author has written the characters and plot so you keep interested until the end.
I really like this author and look forward to reading her books.
It took me a little while to get into the book but once I did it was a really good book. The storyline was enjoyable and interesting with plenty of twists and turns within the story. The characters were really enjoyable and easy to read about. By the end of this book I was hooked. A very good story.
Fly In Fly Out by Evie Snow was a very entertaining and interesting read. Well-written as well. This story also illustrated a bit of a lifestyle I’d not given much thought to – working on an oil rig for weeks at a time. I really liked the uniqueness of the heroine. The deep connection between her sister, their friend and herself was inspiring, and the hero was amazing. I really got invested in these characters. I read and ARC of this story and this is my honest review.
