He can’t stand her, and best believe, the feeling is mutual. Her life is the complete opposite of what he desires. So, why can’t they keep their hands off each other?Forrest Nash is a smug know-it-all. With his brains, ridiculous good looks and penchant for disobeying the laws of both the police and the dark web, Fawn Hill’s resident genius is cockier than any man Penelope Briggs has ever … has ever encountered. It doesn’t help that their six-year age difference makes him completely ineligible in her eyes. Add in the fact that he doesn’t want marriage or babies, and that should eliminate him from the dating pool forever. But it doesn’t mean she can’t sleep with him. Once. Or twice. Or ten times. Against all logic, though, Forrest seems to be sneaking into her heart at the same time he’s sneaking into her bed.
Penelope Briggs is one bossy, obnoxious woman. With three young children, a calendar full of school drop-offs and sports, and enough emotional baggage to fill an airplane, this widow is definitely not what Forrest Nash is looking for. And yet, he can’t get enough of the maddening bombshell. But as their hook-ups become a constant, so does his involvement in Penelope’s life. The things he swore he never wanted, love and kids, seem to be the only things on his mind. And when an attack from his part of the cyber world threatens her safety, he’ll have to admit his feelings for the woman he’d do anything to protect.
What started as a convenient friends-with-benefits situation is quickly growing wings. Even if both parties are trying hard to ignore the flutter.

I’ve loved the Nash brothers series and love all the brothers but I’ve been looking forward to this in particular. Forrest is my kind of guy… Intelligent, cocky, know it all, sexy and a nerd.
Forrest and Penelope are perfect for each other but it takes a while forPenelope to realise this as she has been hurt and suffered grief.
Watching their love story unfold was breathtaking, the way Carrie wrote these characters was flawless.
The walls Penelope and Forrest had to break through, the heart ache, the angst, the chemistry and the hotness was incredible.
Carrie has the ability to write these two characters that really bring out their traits and also made me feel their emotions. I could feel in my heart the loss that Penelope suffers to the point I was crying. That in its self demonstrates a talented writer.
I honestly can’t wait for the next installment of this series.
Forrest Nash. What is there to say about the twin that toes the line of it’s legal as long as no one catches me? He’s a cocky, and arrogant, and oh so sexy. But he’s also beyond intelligent with his ability to hack into anything and solve the unsolvable cyber crimes for the local PD.
And then there is Penelope Briggs. The widow. The mother of three. The confident woman who takes no crap. And the woman that Forrest has always wanted to bed. Too bad they can’t stand one another.
After realizing how good they could be in the bed when they finally act on the pent up anger they carry for each other everything changes….
Forrest and Penelope’s story just might be my new favorite. Can’t wait for the final brother and see inside Fletcher’s mind.
This book is great for a lot of reasons, but for me it’s mostly because it is part enemies to lovers and part forbidden romance. Sure, Forrest is six years younger than her, but that’s nothing. It’s only forbidden because Penelope wants it to be. She sees him more of a (secret) distraction than anything else.
But then they see themselves falling into each other’s beds over and over again and start to realize that maybe them being together isn’t such a bad idea. Of course Penelope is the one who needs the most convincing, but the two of them together makes sense.
It’s almost scary how well they work. And not just during the sexy times! Penelope and Forrest being together was quite sweet and also very hot! They said they were having “hate sex”, but it was very obvious that they didn’t hate each other at all. They had great banter and as far as I am concerned great banter is just another form of foreplay and these two had plenty of it!
I love the Nash family so much! We only have one more book to go and I will be sad when the series is over.
Flutter Book 3 Nash Brothers
5++++ Stars
Amaze balls! Loved this so hard! Definitely couldn’t put it down! Love the chemistry and the banter between the characters.
“All I can do is manage a slight nod, my stomach in knots, my heart fluttering as if I’m a schoolgirl just getting noticed by her crush for the first time.”
Penelope is a single mother with 3 sons just trying to enjoy life after the loss of her husband. Forrest is a cocky, intelligent hacker who has always loved Penelope. Once again Carrie Aarons has taken two characters and developed a wonderful story. While this story is a part of the series, it can be read as a standalone and still be understood completely.
Forrest Nash is a for all intents and purposes, a hacker. He used to do some questionable things with those skills, for the greater good, but now he puts those skills to good use as helping solve crimes. Penelope Briggs is a widow; she lost the love of her life when he was serving the USA. She is a single mom of 3 and doing her best. Forrest has been in lust with Penelope since he was a little boy, now as a grown man he can’t stand her. She is bossier and sassier than any man can handle. As for Forrest, Penelope can’t stand him either, he’s cocky and a know it all. What the two can’t deny is they have some serious chemistry in the bedroom. One night turns into two, and they can’t seem to keep their hands off of each other. The two think they’re being sneaky, but when a job Forrest is working threatens Penelope’s safety, he’ll do anything to protect her. The question is, are either willing to admit they are more than just friends with benefits?
Forrest Nash, I’ve been waiting for his book since Keaton’s. Don’t get me wrong Carrie Aarons is three for three when it comes to the Nash brothers. Each of them are swoony in their own way, but Forrest, that nerdy vibe just makes me love him even more than his other brother’s. Carrie has absolutely killed it with the third installment in the Nash Brother’s series. I love a girl with some sass and Penelope has that in spades, and the chemistry that Carrie brings to life with her writing of this book is white hot. I couldn’t put this book down; it was an absolute page turner. This book was such a quick read because I needed to know what was going to happen next. Bring on Fletcher, I have a feeling he is going to tear my heart out!
Flutter by Carrie Aarons is book Three in the Nash Brothers Series. This is the story of Forrest Nash and Penelope Briggs. I have read the previous books (and Loved Them!) but feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Penelope is a widower with three boys who is struggling along. Forrest is a few years younger than her and someone that is the total opposite of her. Where she has commitments, responsibility and kids he is a single playboy with no real commitments. So when they hook up for a encounter at his brother’s wedding she can’t seem to stay away from him. Sparks fly between the two but can he be someone who can be in her life full time?
Loved their story and this series.
Rate: 5 / 5 stars
Oh man, I had no idea I would love Forrest this much. To be honest, he’s the one I was less curious about but boy did I fall in love with this geek god. There was so much about this book that I loved: enemies to lovers, the banter, friends with benefits, age gap, Penelope and her boys, the suspense and watching Forrest be good and not brag about it, and how much he always wanted Penelope and how he was worked so hard to get her and keep her.
Penelope has owned his heart since he was 11 and although her rejections hurt him and made him hate her as much as he craved her, once he realised he loved her, he was ALL IN and ready to do anything for Penelope and her three little boys.
It was all so amazing and I might have enjoyed this one as much as Forgiven or more. Forgiven was emotional and got my heart aching but Flutter was sexy, with an amazing chemistry and banter and a little angst here and there to keep my angst lover heart going. These are the two extremes my heart craves and I loved both books so much. I honestly don’t know which one wins, so I’m sitting them at a tie for now.
I loved getting to know all sides of Forrest and how he really worked behind his goofy and a**hole mask. Watching him fall in love was the best thing ever and I say this not just for me but for all the Nash family. From someone who never wanted marriage or kids to someone who wants it all with only one woman. Penelope was amazing, sassy, sarcastic and a great single mom to her 3 babies. She went full roar on anyone who questioned her love for them or threatened their safety. I loved her and watching her fight Forrest was so entertaining. She tried to resist him but it was just impossible. They were fire on the streets and even more so in the sheets! These two, honestly so good!
Flutter is all chemistry and fun with heart and a sweet love story mixed in. You’ll fall in love with Forrest and Penelope from the get go. It’s impossible not to. Forrest will have you shaking your head at the same time as he melts your heart to mush. He was a true and amazing surprise for me. He’s cocky and a**holish but he has such a good heart underneath. He will win you over in no time and make you question who your favorite Nash brother is.
I am loving this series so much. I can’t wait to read Fletcher’s story. I have no doubt it will be just as amazing as all previous three, if not more because honestly I’m finding each book better than the last.
Another Nash brother meets his match! Forrest is this arrogant, cocky, computer guru. He’s been lusting after Penelope since he was a boy. So when they start hooking up on drunken nights, and turn it into friends with benefits, neither realizes that love will come sneaking up on them. I loved getting to know more about these two characters after meeting them in the first two books. They definitely have a fun bantering side that will keep you laughing.
Flutter is Forrest & Penelope’s story in the Nash Brothers series.
Forrest is a brilliant computer geek & Penny is 6 years older than him and a widowed mother of 3 young boys.
Technically they shouldn’t work, but they certainly have a spark. They insult each other like love sick teenagers & are very comical.
Once they both realise that they are more than friends with benefits, the true story unfolds.
This is a lovely story about a lovely couple.
I love Forrest as He is very much like my own man.
Well done Carrie Aarons for another fantastic Nash Brothers story.
Ahhhh Penelope and Forrest! I loved these characters and I had been rooting for them since book 1 of the Nash Brothers series.
Forrest and Penelope share fleeting moments together as Penelope has a hard time thinking of him as a younger man. She is widowed at a young age and has her children to worry about so is cautious going into any relationship.
This is a sweet, slow burn romance with wonderful characters. Carrie writes great books and this series has been one of my favorites!
I love this book! Flutter is Forrest and Penelope ‘s books. Forrest and Penelope are total opposites. This book like the previous two captivated me. I love the Nash brothers. Each of them are different in their own way. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK/SERIES!
Flutter is the third book in the Nash brothers by Carrie Aarons and this is the story of Penelope and Forrest, characters that we have meet in the previous books.
Penelope is a single mom of 3 boys who hasnt had an easy life after her husband died, and Forrest is the handsome geek who doesnt want a relationship, and important detail is that Penelope is older than Forrest and he has always have a crush for her!!
They start a relationship that benefits the needs of both of them, but you can feel that they have a great chemistry, so that relationship start turning in something else stronger, but because penelope hasnt had an easy life for the last years it takes time to they realize that they can have their happy ending together.
Forrest even though is younger he takes really good the responsability of what involves to have a long term relationship with her, so is just Penelope who has to accept that she can be happy with Forrest.
This story has a lot of steamy, sexy, funny and dramatic moments, that will have you reading the whole book at once!
Congratulations Carrie for another fantastic story!!!
5 OH MY FLUTTERING HEART STARS!! My heart is still fluttering after reading this fabulous book. Forrest is my new book boyfriend…he is PERFECTION. Forrest and Penelope will still your heart….they have known each other for a long time and a bit of an age difference, but so much chemistry. I could not put this book down….I finished in about 3 hours. Carrie Aarons has given us another fantastic book, she always delivers.
Not gonna lie, I am low key crying a bit after reading this book. Not because it is sad, but because it is so freaking beautiful. Lovely readers, know that this book is extremely special and amazing and you would be missing out if you didn’t read it!<3
Penelope is a young mother that lost the love of her life 3 years ago when he did not return from a tour in the military. Let's just say moving on is super hard for her especially with all the kids, but this woman is freaking superwoman! Forrest Nash has had a crush on Penelope for pretty much ever. Since he was too young to catch her eye, he gave up and started being a bit of a manwhore. Until one night where the two unleash so much freaking passion.
Sweet love makes for a sweet read but HOT STEAMY PASSION between two people that cannot stand each other most of the time makes for a freaking explosive time!!
I have loved each of the Nash brothers books, but this one by far has stolen my heart. These brothers are amazing men, but Forrest in his nerdy but hot self that can be so freaking cocky but sweet at the same time definitely is my favorite right now!
Carrie Aarons, this story was absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait for Fletcher's story now! <3
PS: I received this book as an ARC, but this review is 100% honest!
by Carrie Aarons was freaking AMAZING!
Forrest is MY EVERYTHING! I loved EVERYTHING about him!!! He was so HOT!!!
I loved how he never denied having a crush on Penelope. Despite Penelope being 6 years older than Forrest, you can’t feel that age difference when seeing how hot they are together! Forrest went from not wanting a family nor a girlfriend, to wanting it ALL! Penelope had to learn to trust and to give in, she hasn’t had it easy so when Forrest starts being up front with what he wants, she can’t help give in to something she can’t stop thinking about. These two were FIRE together! I loved how strong Penelope was tho, raising three boys isn’t easy, so seeing her do anything for her kids was amazing. Seeing Forrest not only fall in love with Penelope, but also the boys had me falling so hard for him.
Another MUST READ from this amazing author!!
I loved it!!! best book of the series!!
I absolutely fell in love with Forrest and Penelope’s story! Yeah, Forrest was rather cocksure and Penelope was a tough cookie, but these two definitely had more going on behind those masks of theirs. Penelope was the widow who lost the love of her life too soon, leaving her to raise all three of their sons on her own, and Forrest was the Nash brother who was different from his three siblings, like the one who didn’t quite belong no matter how much he knew his family loved him. My heart broke for Forrest because even though the guy was already in his mid-twenties, he couldn’t help but still feel like the boy who was crushing on the older girl–aka Penelope–who never saw him as viable when it came to love and romance. Sigh. So while Forrest may rub a lot of people the wrong way, and he doesn’t exactly come off as all warm and cuddly in the beginning, the more you get to know him in this book, the more you’ll see that he truly is a great guy who loves his family mightily, protects his community, and is devoted to the first and only girl he’s ever had feelings for. Does it sound like he’s my favorite Nash brother? Abso-freaking-lutely, and while Penelope took a bit longer for me to like, once I got over those hurdles, I definitely loved her spirit and dedication to everything that mattered to her. Carrie Aarons so won me over with Flutter. Five stars!
Flutter by Carrie Aarons is the third book in her Nash Brothers series. This one is Forest’s story and will have you captivated from start to finish! It was such a sweet and charming story. Forest has finally found his match in the woman he has always wanted! Forest is smart, sexy and cocky and he knows he does not want a relationship or anything that comes with it. Penelope is a widow and a single mom finding her way. I loved her so much. Though some days being a single mom are hard, she was strong, confident and sassy. Though they had insane chemistry, but what started as friends with benefits quickly became more complicated. They had so much to work through. One being the age difference and that small fact of what Forest wants, right? I fell into this story and kept on reading it.
4.5-stars. Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
This is the 3rd book in this phenomenal series, and is Forrest and Penelope’s turn. Forrest comes across as the cocky, sarcastic bother, but underneath he feels deeply for the ones close to him. Penelope is a widow and single mom, who is sassy and feisty, and Forrest has had a crush on her since school days, despite being 6 years younger. Can he convince her to take a chance on them moving on from them being frenemies? This is a beautifully written story which is filled with suspense, mystery, emotion, thrills, witty banter, and is an all round entertaining and humorous read. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this gifted author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
