He can’t stand her, and best believe, the feeling is mutual. Her life is the complete opposite of what he desires. So, why can’t they keep their hands off each other?Forrest Nash is a smug know-it-all. With his brains, ridiculous good looks and penchant for disobeying the laws of both the police and the dark web, Fawn Hill’s resident genius is cockier than any man Penelope Briggs has ever … has ever encountered. It doesn’t help that their six-year age difference makes him completely ineligible in her eyes. Add in the fact that he doesn’t want marriage or babies, and that should eliminate him from the dating pool forever. But it doesn’t mean she can’t sleep with him. Once. Or twice. Or ten times. Against all logic, though, Forrest seems to be sneaking into her heart at the same time he’s sneaking into her bed.
Penelope Briggs is one bossy, obnoxious woman. With three young children, a calendar full of school drop-offs and sports, and enough emotional baggage to fill an airplane, this widow is definitely not what Forrest Nash is looking for. And yet, he can’t get enough of the maddening bombshell. But as their hook-ups become a constant, so does his involvement in Penelope’s life. The things he swore he never wanted, love and kids, seem to be the only things on his mind. And when an attack from his part of the cyber world threatens her safety, he’ll have to admit his feelings for the woman he’d do anything to protect.
What started as a convenient friends-with-benefits situation is quickly growing wings. Even if both parties are trying hard to ignore the flutter.

This is the third book in the Nash Brothers series and it feature Forrest and Penelope. Forrest is this genius hacker that gets hired by the police to work for them after he hacks their security system. He has this cocky, arrogant way about him but yet he is socially awkward and so confident that he doesn’t really know how to relate to others or sympathize with them. Forrest has loved Penelope almost all his life but she is 6 years older and married her high school sweetheart but he passed away fighting for his country. Penelope is a hard working widow and single mom, she works hard for her kids takes care of them non stop but has a great support system. This two are total opposites, they fight and argue but their banter is funny and their chemistry is undeniable. I absolutely loved this book because we see the computer geek soften up to get his girl and we see a hardworking mom let go and give love another chance. This story is full of ups and downs, suspense, and overall I fell in love with Forrest. I can’t wait to see what happens in Fletcher’s story
Flutter is the third book in the Nash Brothers series by Carrie Aarons and each book is about one of the Nash Brothers and it takes place in a small town. This one is about Penelope and Forrest.
.
Penelope is the mother of three lovely boys and she gives her best to raise them and give them the best possible life after her husband died as a soldier. This obviously leaves little room for her own privacy and she enjoys some girl time with the protagonists from the other books in the series and I loved that. Furthermore, she is the school’s nurse and a strong woman.
.
Forrest is an IT specialist and hacker who occasionally works with the police and his job was really interesting. He is a nerd with a photographic mind and at the same very charming and a really good lover.
.
Their relationship starts off with them being familiar and being in the same friend group. Forrest always had a crush on her, but since she was a little older and married this was never an option. But now it is and the two grew closer. They start a relationship with benefits and the scenes with the two of them together are just epic and I loved to follow their story.
.
Overall, Penelope and Forrest‘s story is an amazing romance that is about taking chances and family and has some amazing steamy scenes. 4,5 stars.

I love this series! Penelope and Forrest are fantastic characters. They face some ups and downs. Older woman with younger man just to name one. This is the third in the series and I have already started on the fourth.
Forrest and Penelope are definitely two people who get on each other’s nerves. Forest is cocky and too smart for his own good and Penelope is a strong sarcastic kick ass mother of 3 boys. One night of drunken passion keeps happening until the decide to be hook up buddies. Well they both start to feel too much. Can they be together or will two strong willed people keep themselves apart ? Love these characters.

… the two of them are so happy, it’s almost like looking at the sun. Honestly, it kind of hurts, but it’s also pretty sweet.
My Review:
This was a quick and entertaining read full of steam and humor, but I was initially hesitant to pick it up as I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to enjoy a story featuring the insufferable Forrest, as his personality didn’t come off well in the previous books. I thought Forrest was undeniably arrogant, obnoxious, and distant, and had enabled his addicted twin brother. Silly me, I ended up enjoying and caring more for Forrest than I did for Penelope, as he was really the sweeter and deeper of the two. The storylines were well balanced between angst, levity, and scorching hot sensual scenes – this couple was combustible.
Carrie has a knack for making you feel all the things when you read and Flutter is just another example of that. The drama in Flutter is true to real life, touching on dating after the loss of a partner, being a single mom, family arguments, age gap, and your usual small town gossip. Forrest Nash is the genius of the Nash brothers, his tendencies to be socially awkward have landed him the spot of being the one most oft picked on, the one they don’t take serious, the one they don’t see settling down. He may be a cop, one everyone trusts, but he’s always been the younger guy. His feelings have been bottled up for too long though and a friends-with-benefits situation puts him in the position of falling for the woman least available. Penelope is the do-it-all single mom, she doesn’t let anything hold her back, even when her heart just wants to mourn the loss of her husband. She doesn’t have time for feelings, especially not for the handsome as sin, sarcastic Forrest, but he keeps doing the unexpected. What starts as quickies when they can soon turns into this gray area of dating, but when Forrest is put on a sensitive security job it’s no surprise that the genius in everything but feelings let’s things explode.
I wasn’t sure I’d like Forrest, he is so cocky and always sarcastic, but like always Carrie shows us the heart within the characters. He’s a good guy, really a teddy-bear, he’s just been stomped on so often. I felt for him and, like everyone, I cheered when Penelope finally gave him a chance. Penelope presents herself as strong all the time, rarely letting anyone in, so it makes for really entertaining reading when it’s the awkward Forrest who finally sees the real her. These two run hot and cold, their arguments as epic as their lust-filled encounters. That means the first 60% or so of the book is just us really getting to know the characters and I must admit, I enjoyed that. There’s no insta-love, these two have known each other forever, but there is chemistry that gets built upon until there’s no denying that the two belong together.
A classic small-town romance, Flutter has just the right amount of contemporary drama to make it a winner for me. I loved the mix of sexy and sweet that Carrie Aarons blends together, it kept me engaged and just like Penelope did, I fell for Forrest too. The Nash Brothers series has been such a nice escape for me, these books make you feel just enough and they make you believe in sweet fairy tale romance. I highly recommend this series, and Flutter especially, if you’re looking for romance and characters with a lot of heart.

While they seem like complete opposites, underneath it all they are both the same. Never thought they would find love and covered their hurt with sarcastic comments. Forrest turned out to be the sweetest Nash brother thus far when you chipped away the sarcasm and Penelope, whether she wanted to or not fell for him more quickly than what she admitted. Cute, small-town family story in this series.
Penelope Briggs is a hard working single mom of 3 boys widowed by her soldier husband who she’s been with since high school. But she needs something, a couple of drunk encounters with Forest Nash have provided them both relief and the rest of the time they cannot stand each other. They strike up a bargain just sex no attachments. Love the Nash brothers and Penny’s friends and the boys are great. Love this book
Flutter by Carrie Aarons is the third book in her Nash Brothers series. Told in dual POV between Forrest Nash, the genius hacker and one half of the Nash twins, and Penelope Briggs, the widowed mother of 3 boys that Forrest has crushed on since he was 12 and she was 17. The push and pull between Forrest’s introverted and egotistical behavior and Penelope’s bold, take no crap attitude to life is titillating. She is self-conscious of the fact that he is younger than her and allows that to create a barrier. She also doesn’t want anyone to know they are sleeping together. Forrest, on the other hand, is starting to realize that while he may have been aloof and distant and uncaring with women in the past, it was less a reflection on him and more a reflection on the fact they weren’t Penelope. Well-written and well-paced I am so completely invested in this series, the town of Fawn Hill and the Nash brothers, their significant others and extended family and friends. I am very excited to read the next book in this series, Falter, which releases July 25, 2019. Enjoy!
I’ve found that every Nash brother is unique,
but so are their counterparts. This one though,
is my favorite. Forrest is cocky, nerdy, with the
biggest case of self confidence. Love that Penelope
gave him “a run for his money” though. I was glad
when she gave him a shot. Once she did, she realized
that she had misunderstood him all along, and began to
see what kind of person he really was. “Flutter” has all the
right amount of angst, chemistry, a dash of suspense, and
of course everything you need in an enemies-to-lovers book.
Carrie Aaron’s has become one of my favourite romance writers, and I absolutely adored ‘Flutter’. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but it is also a part of the ‘Nash Brothers Series’.
The book is about Penelope, a struggling single mum who is juggling being dad, nurse, widow and full time mum to three young energetic boys. After the tragic passing of her husband, Penelope has tried her hardest to keep herself together, always being the rock for her family and putting her sons first.
So when she ends up spending an evening with Forrest Nash, a man she can only describe as her polar opposite, she can’t help but question what she is doing. He is younger, selfish and only focused on himself and his job, and he couldn’t possibly understand what it’s like to have people dependent on him, but she cannot deny the way he make her stomach flutter whilst provoking her.
They are as argumentative as they are passionate, and Penelope is the woman Forrest has always wanted to be with. He has crushed on her from being a boy, often suffering her put downs and brash humour. But when they connect after his brother’s wedding, Forrest is determined not to let her slip through his fingers, offering her a deal he hopes she won’t refuse.
This book is sweet, passionate and addictive. I can’t get enough of the Nash family and can’t wait to see who Fletcher settles down with.
This book is ideal for all romance readers and people who love to immerse themselves in a series. Amazingly well written and a total page turner.
Forrest and Penelope are the enemies movies are made of. Forrest is the law-breaking, footloose and fancy free playboy and Penelope is the widowed mother of 3. In theory, they shouldn’t make sense. Penelope is not looking for anyone like Forrest and he is definitely not looking for anything like Penelope, her kids and commitment.
But there’s no taking into account how hot they are for each other. And boy is it HOT!! Yes this is book 3 in the Nash Brothers series but you don’t have to read the other 2 books but it’s a good idea. You meet all the Nashs’ and the crazy of their family. But oh how I love reading them!
I really enjoyed this book it is fun and enjoyable to read I love carries books they never disappoint it’s always entertaining to read
WOW. So the Nash Brothers series has quickly become one of my favorites, and with each book I’m convinced that that brother is the best….but honestly, I seriously loved Forrest. He was such a butthead at the start of the book that you could totally see how Penny wanted to not admit her attraction. However, by the end you see him finally find the person who just gets him. Totally redeemed himself! I loved how strong Penny is. She’s such a rock for her kids, and her friends.
I can’t WAIT to read Fletchers book! I’m sure Carrie will make him my newest new favorite Nash brother!!!
Read in one sitting…Forrest and Penelope will capture your heart!
I read this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. Forrest is the egotistical jerk because he is hiding his own insecurities. Penelope is hiding behind her personality because she has experienced the worst heartbreak in the world. They use hateful words and biting wit to hide the chemistry they feel for one another. It was a pure pleasure to watch their love story unfold. I can’t wait for Fletcher’s story!
Nash is arrogant and think he can have any women he wants but not Penelope he has been in love with her since he was young but when her husband has been dead for 3 years they start a friend’s with benefits arrangement but Nash to his astonishment wants more. This is the first book by this author but won’t be my last I really enjoyed it. This is the 4th in the series but it stands alone. I would recommend.
I was given a copy for a honest review.
When the nerd gets the hot older woman, it makes for a great read! Fletcher is the third Nash brother, and one of the most intense. Penny wants his heat, but not his heart. She feels he is too immature for her, and he has wanted her since he was a teenager. Their story is fun and intense. A great read from author Carrie Aarons.
Best Love-Hate relationship ever! Forrest was the exact Nash brother I wanted. He’s arrogant, cocky and absolutely breath taking. He’s the Clark Kent of the group. He’s so nerdy that’s he’s handsome. Penelope has suffered the loss of her husband to war and is now raising their three boys alone. Everything in her life is fast paced so a relationship is not an option for her. But maybe a friends with benefits is exactly what she needs and who would expect it to be with the one man who can take her and give it right back.
There is so much to Fluttering. There’s drama, suspense, hope, love and lots of family interfering. I love these Nash men and the women they love. Awesome story for the summer or even just to escape to this small town of busy bodies.
I love Carrie Aarons. Her writing sucks me in. So I thought nothing could get better than Keaton. But then she gave me Bowen (hello brooding guy with a heart of gold!). But then she had to devastate me with the introduction Forrest, one of the dynamite twins. In the first two books, we only get glimpses of these two men – superficial introductions. But in Flutter, we get to jump into the crazy intelligent madness that makes Forrest so amazing. His loyalty, arrogant facade, and love for his family made me want more. And his unabashed pursuit of Penelope through the decades made me love him so much.
She is quite the match to him. A total ballbuster who challenges him to be the best version of himself. I find myself wanting more of their story, but I think Aarons got in what we needed to know who they are and left us knowing that everything was sorted the way it was supposed to – in their own way and on their own timeline.
In short, it was a wonderfully fun and lovely story. You can’t go wrong by reading this story!
Carrie is quickly moving up on my favorite authors list. I loved everything about this book. I love a book that when you open it, you just jump right into their world. This book does just that. You will everything in this book. Another phenomenal read.
