An all-new STANDALONE from New York Times bestselling author Julia KentIt all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term … problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term.
Until it was too late.
The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!
Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.
They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.
The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.
Oh, man…
And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.
By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.
My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined?
Having all my dreams come true.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
It was a great book !
Mallory is a professional Fluffer.
She stages houses for sale.
How was she to know that Fluffer also mean something else.
Will could not believe that he would find his high school classmate on a porn movie set.
What was Mallory thinking?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
One of the most wickedly funny books I’ve read in a long time. And so sexy too!
I enjoyed this book so much! After reading Little Miss Perfect I HAD to know how the story of Will and Mallory went!!!! I loved their “mis-connection” in high school and it left me with soooo many questions!!!
Mallory is so much like me it’s scary! We are both way naive, smart, work in interior design and are plus size. Her little mishap in the beginning made me laugh sooo hard because I had NO CLUE what a fluffer was! I adored her character so much because we are similar, but I think that Julia wrote her character so that you couldn’t help but fall in love with her. She is such a smart person, she’s funny without meaning to be and she’s so straight forward. She’s such an amazing lead female!!! Bringing Will back in the picture was equally entertaining with how he was brought in. I loved that she fell over her own feet because of him. Having a female lead who is not perfect is my favorite! Mallory and Will have the most amazing second chance romance, even if they didn’t realize it was “second chance.” I also loved how Mallory was so afraid to get hurt, but everything in her life was pointing her back at Will.
Now Will, I was pretty mad at him in Little Miss Perfect, because he didn’t strike when he could have and he didn’t really try hard to fix it. I was SUPER excited to see him redeem himself though!!! I loved his character in this. Between him being funny, trying to help Mallory and trying to woo her at the same time, he was pretty darn perfect. He was so determined to win her over and make her see herself as she really is, that you couldn’t help but fall in love with him too! Then we have the parents trying to do things on the sly, the dancing fiasco and so many other moments. It was just really funny to watch these two! Speaking of funny, holy crap was this book funny! I was laughing from beginning to end!!
And of course we have to talk about the secondary characters. Fiona and Perky WERE PERFECT!! These two were the best friends a girl could ask for! Their characters were the best with their support and their comedy. Add in all of this to a high school reunion, MAGIC! All of the pieces to this beautiful puzzle were complete because of them.
I can’t wait to see what Julia has lined up next with Perky!
This book had me laughing so much!! I loved it!! I loved the storyline the characters, and everything about it!
Mal goes to a Craigslist job posting and finds out it’s not a HOME FLUFFER, but a different kind of fluffer LOL!! Little does she know that the house that she’s going to belongs to Will. Her old high school crush!
Mal is the good girl from school, and didn’t know that Fluffer had another term, and she found out the hard way. I was laughing throughout this entire book.
Will owns his own company and wants Mal to come work for him as their house decorator for his parents house he’s trying to sell. They have a bet going too. Who wins? Well, that’s for you to find out, by reading this hilarious book!
I loved that Will didn’t give up on Mal, and kept pursuing it, but not in a creepy way! I also loved when her friends asked if they were together and Mal said no, but she didn’t know Will was close by and he walks up behind and says YES. I LOVED IT!!!!
I did find that the story did kinda drag about halfway through, that’s why it’s only 4 Stars. But overall this book was so funny! It’s a must read!
My fave quotes from the book:
1. I’m the cream pie specialist. Oh! A cooking show! – Oh Mal LOL!!!
2. Why I am lying on the floor, my leg cocked like a cricket, arguing with Beastman’s right to flog his meat is beyond me. – I died laughing cause I could picture it!
Julia Kent has done it again, there is a tiny prequel book that will help to read first, but this is a great start to a new series of a very talented writer/story teller. Mallory and Will are great characters with a fantastic supporting cast of characters that I feel like we’re going to know more about very soon. Hilarious, easy-to-read and a ton of laughs make Fluffy a great read.
What a wonderful read. I truly enjoyed this story. It had me laughing and it was was wonderful well written. The characters were wonderful. It a great storyline. I enjoyed Will and Mallory. It was a page turner.
When you start to read this book be prepared of lots of laughter. I literally cried laughing at some of the embarrassing situations. This book was a fast paced RomCom with intriguing quirky characters that draw you in and keep you hooked.
Fluffy is hilarious from the beginning and soon as you meet Mallory you are thoroughly amused and completely cringing at her naïve innocence. She’s smart and sassy but completely lives in her own quirky world.
Mallory works in house sales, she stages them for selling and when she answers an ad for a Fluffer she is expecting to stage a house for a tv cooking show. When she arrives on a porn set her reaction honestly made me laugh out loud. Whilst totally mortifying for her its amusing for us and had me reaching for the popcorn.
She thinks her mortification can’t go any lower that is until she finds out who owns the house…..her high school crush Will Lotham!
I loved the dynamics between Will and Mallory. He seemed so intrigued and amused by her and the sexual tension was palpable between them even if Mallory couldn’t see it.
I really enjoyed all the secondary characters too like Perky and Fiona and im looking forward to Perky story which is coming up.
ARC received in exchange for an honest review from the author and Give me Books
I needed this story. All the parts of it – quirky Mallory, truly good guy Will – it’s just so well done – high school crush, classic hilarious totally embarrassing misunderstanding and all kinds of fantastic characters, dialogue and the best kind of fictional life depiction.
When you hear the term ‘fluffer’, what do you think? Well, yeah. As a property stager, Mallory has used that term in her industry forever but when she accepts a job she realizes that it’s NOT for that! Enter Will, her childhood crush and the owner of the property where filming is going down without permission. Yeah. It gets messy, and funny and I just couldn’t stop reading!
Highly recommend this sweet, hilarious romance!
This is Fluffy written by Julia Kent. This one will give you “all the feels”. From mistaken job opportunities, to high school hazing and finally getting the chance with the hot jock from high school. For those of us who are scarred from a less than joyful time in high school, this one will ring your bells! Ms Kent always supplies us with plenty of laugh out loud jokes and and some fun mishaps. What happens when you show up all decked out for the chance at reviving your career….BUTTTT. It’s in the wrong industry? KMSL! Don’t miss this one! I can’t wait to read stories about some of the other high school friends!
This book is light and fluffy as air! 3 stars
I liked this book, but I didn’t love it. That is why I gave it 3 stars; 3 stars for me means average. Mallory had a crush on Will in high school, but what I wanted to read – them getting to know each other as adults and falling in love – was not in the book. I did love Will, because he was sweet and a nice guy. I liked that Mallory was book smart and unique, but she was very naive at the beginning of the book which annoyed me. Her inner monologues were verbose and that also started to annoy me. I like a book that has a lot of sexy times, but Will and Mallory didn’t even have their first kiss until towards the end of the book! I did laugh out loud a lot, so that was good! Like I said, I liked this book but didn’t love it, and I am not sure I would recommend it.
Warning: Do not read while eating, drinking or in front of others. I laughed SO hard during this book, my cheeks still hurt! Such a hilarious tale of wrong person at the wrong place. Mallory is definitely a woman after my own heart. Her innocent take on the world leaves her in such an awkward situation, that even the aftermath is just as embarrassing. This was a delightful tale of coming into your own, while not making snap judgements about others. I loved all the characters and the storyline keeps you captivated til the last page.
This book came at the perfect time for me to read it. I needed a good laugh and this book is so full of them but tells a good story that is totally relatable! I laughed enough throughout this book to make my sides hurt and my cat look at me funny.
Mal’s story with Will is so on point to any person who suffered in high school and had a crush on a guy that seemed unattainable. What we find out in this humorous tale is that crazy things happen in life and sometimes because we are being put through so much we don’t see outside of that to how other people feel about us as well.
Will is a sweetheart but he too had blinders on in high school to other people. Their love is epic and just filled with support, enlightenment and a whole lot of funny!
OMG this book is HI-LAR-I-OUS. It has that sarcastic, irreverent, a tad dirty flavor that I love so much. This book came out the gate hitting hard in the funny. I really thought I was going to wet myself at one point. Yes, you are welcome on the overshare there. I am nice that way.
Mallory has to be one of the most naive (at least in anything related to the porn industry haha) but highly intelligent characters I have ever read. I can hardly write this cause I am laughing so hard just thinking about her and the beginning of this book. My mind is actually stuttering trying to articulate this read. Plan for more than humor though. You get to see that how the wounds and negative scripts of your teen years can follow you. I did love that Mallory stayed true to herself and lived her life to the beat of her own drum. SO GOOD.
UMMM let me tell you about Will. (Pause, deep breath). He is so nummy! I love that he gets to go on a crazy journey as he reconnects and experiences Mallory again. He didn’t always understand how who he was in high school affected Mallory. His AAHA moments where beautifully done. The end of this story REALLY brings on the sexy (wink wink). Ok no more or I will start giving spoilers. Eek. Something I work hard at not doing.
This story is worth all five stars. Happy Reading!
This story definitely put the comedy in Romantic Comedy! I was reading until WAY late last night and laughing hysterically out loud while in bed. The last time I’ve truly laughed like that has been a bit.
Mallory is a lovable, book smart, naive goofball. I loved her character so much!! And she was so dead on. I could definitely see her as a slightly bigger, sweet but sassy, formerly bullied adult. I can definitely feel for her and her crush on Will. And seriously, she is so dang cute! Walking into a job as a “fluffer” not knowing that it’s not what she expected.
And Will, thank you for being the updated adorable Jake Ryan any Sixteen Candles fan was begging for. Although how he didn’t know who John Hughes was, definitely is a strike against him. He is definitely the updated Jake Ryan for every girl who absolutely loved him and wanted one for her own.
I can’t wait for Perky’s story!!
I’ve found my new favorite rom com of 2019 and a new author to love all over to boot! You guys, Fluffy was freaking hilarious. I honestly can’t tell you the last time I laughed this hard while reading a book. And no, I’m talking about when you’re reading and you just kinda chuckle to yourself. I’m talking full-on literal laughing out loud. Uncontrollably. I wanted this book to last forever, but I also didn’t want to put it down. Mallory and Will’s story was fantastic.
I love a good unrequited love story, especially when it features two characters coming back in contact with each other after being separated for some amount of time. It gives the story an almost second chance type of vibe and you know how much I love those. In Fluffy, Mallory was reunited with her high school crush in ONE OF THE MOST AWKWARD SCENES I have ever read in my life. Oh my god, I wanted to die on her behalf. I wanted to crawl under my couch and read it between my fingers. I didn’t even want to look directly at my iPad. But, I also did because I was living for ALL of the awkward. Innuendo and overall awkwardness make up most of my favorite comedies. Probably because of all of the awkward situations I’ve been in throughout my life.
Mallory was such a fantastically relatable heroine. Will was a super swoony hero. I couldn’t get enough of these two together. Their banter and chemistry was A+ and the slow burn of things between them had me fearing for the life of my iPad. Mallory’s bestie Perky might be one of my new favorite book friends and I think I need to be besties with her, too. (Side note: I CANNOT WAIT for her story. It’s gonna be a doozy.)
If you’re looking for a rom com to make you laugh until you almost cry, look no further. You need some Mallory and Will in your life. Oh, and let’s be very clear — the funny doesn’t stop with the initial “not THAT kind of fluffer” scene. There’s so much awkward, cringe-tastic goodness in Fluffy. Girlfriend needs to learn to look at her text window before hitting send. That’s all I’m gonna say. Well, that and… GO BUY THIS BOOK.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

A laugh-out-loud new standalone from New York Times bestselling author Julia Kent! Fluffy is about a fluffer…but not THAT kind. Or is it? Haha.

A start to a brand-new series
I can’t be the only one thinking… “It’s so fluffy I’m going to die” everytime I read this title, right? I know I’ve totally just outted myself as a mom but really I think anyone with a sense of humor would love Despicable Me. Which that has nothing to do with this book besides sharing the name Fluffy with one of my favorite lines in the movie. However, this book could have totally made me die… with laughter! This is one of Julia Kent’s funniest books that I have read. Ok, so I’ve only read a handful of her books but this one was through the roof funny! She slayed this story!
I feel as though I laughed from the first word until the last word. Julia Kent is such a fun writer… I’d been in a bit of a rut lately. Everything feels like the same… but with Fluffy, nothing was what I expected! Mal makes this story. She’s just so darn likable. Plus it doesn’t hurt that pretty much every book nerd that I know, such as myself, has dealt with a crush on the most popular boy in school before. Don’t we all wish to be seen? Speaking of the high school days, if you haven’t read the prequel Little Miss Perfect, than you just have to stop and grab it for free on Amazon. It’s a hoot and sets up Fluffy perfectly. You’ll get to know Mallory and Will a bit before they bump into each other in a hilarious way!
Mal’s friends were just too insane not to love! Everyone needs some besties to push them out of their comfort zones and that is just what Perky and Fiona do! Well that and seriously pick on her when she deserves it. I adored their dynamics. They were there for each other and supported each other. They were the best of friends. I’m beside myself with excitement that Perky’s story will be next. Kent’s writing and storytelling is just the best! You won’t be able to help yourself falling for this story, these characters!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Hilarious, full of sexual innuendos, great girlfriends, and a high school crush make Fluffy one of the best books I’ve read this year! I have never, in my life, laughed as hard as I did reading Fluffy. Mallory and Will, the nerd and the jock back in high school, meet once again in the most awkward of situations. Will and Mallory embark on a friendship where they come to terms with growing up, putting the past behind them and admitting their feelings for one another. Easier said than done, right?
The cast of characters, from Will and Mallory, to their friends, to Mallory’s family, made this book one of my favorites. Julia Kent truly writes the BEST rom-coms that also have heart! I loved Will and Mallory and their journey to find love! I highly suggest this book!
I’ve been a Julia Kent fan since I stumbled across her Obedient series several years ago & I’ve anxiously awaited each new release since. That said, “Fluffy” did not disappoint. It was laugh-out-loud funny from the start!
Down on her luck Mallory meets Will again, a decade after graduating from the same high school, in the most embarrassing way possible. I mean, who takes a job as a fluffer thinking it’s right up her alley as a home stager? Mallory, that’s who. But from that cringe-worthy, comedy of errors moment on, you’re rooting for Mal to get the guy she crushed on for so many years in school. Along the way, you come to really know Will, Mal & the rest of the characters who inhabit their world & they are a group worth knowing.
Julia Kent has a rich imagination & the ability to vividly draw you a picture of her characters & their lives with her well-chosen words. She makes you care about her characters & what happens to them. Though you have a general idea where they’re going, she makes you really enjoy the journey because it’s never a straight shot and you’re laughing at every unexpected turn along the way.
This is a really light hearted rom com type story. The blurb give you an awesome feel on what the story is, and while they romance is there, it was more comedy to me then romance. it was there, but I didn’t really feel it. The romance aspect seemed really rushed, or maybe too slow burn and then rush to the ending. I’m not sure how to explain it with out spoilers.
I loved all the banter between the characters and loved seeing Mal kinda come into her own through out the story. There was an extra epilogue of sorts and it gives us what the next book will be I can’t wait. This was my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. It was laugh out loud funny and a perfect weekend read when you want something light and fluffy, pun intended. Lol. 4 stars #2OCCJD
