An all-new STANDALONE from New York Times bestselling author Julia KentIt all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term … problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term.
Until it was too late.
The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!
Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.
They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.
The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.
Oh, man…
And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.
By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.
My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined?
Having all my dreams come true.

The beginning mix up was hilarious. This audiobook seemed to carry lots of emotions. I believe so many of us relate to her thoughts and feelings about her reunion but I think it played to big of a part of the heroine’s story. I want more scenes like the beginning and the 3rd date. The author did an amazing job at making the characters real. I enjoyed the story and the HEA. Can’t wait to listen to Perky’s story! The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.

Fluffy Book One.
Mallory is on the hunt for a job because her bank balance is in the negatives, so when she finds a listing for a Fluffer, she jumps at the chance. She hasn’t seen that term used for a house stager in awhile, but maybe they’re just old school. When she shows up, she begins to work on the living room. However, after several weird interactions with her boss and the rest of the crew, she realizes this might not be the job she originally imagined. When her old high school flame, Will, crashes into the room threatening to have them all arrested, she knows her day has gotten even worse. After Spatula posts a photo of Mallory, Will and the actor from the set in a visually compromising position, Mal knows her life is over.
If you’re looking for a funny story with suggestive insinuations, childhood dreams and everlasting friends, this is the book for you!

What an entertaining story! I admit, I was just as naïve as Mallory — as I didn’t know what a Fluffer was either, and boy did I have a LAUGH as I discovered the meaning through her experience. OH my!! The whole opening scene sets the stage for this hilarious tale. Mallory becomes reunited with her high school crush and through a series of embarrassing moments, witty banter and misconceptions revealed, Mallory gets the happily ever after that she always daydreamed about. The supporting cast of characters are such a hoot, adding to the comedic fun and in turn, we’ll hopefully soon discover their stories as well.
Listened to on audio, Erin Mallon was THE perfect choice as narrator. She brought such life to these characters and story, elevating it to a whole other level of funny!
This was my first Julia Kent book and I LOVED IT. I almost died of second hand embarrassment within the first five chapters. I could not stop laughing for the rest of it. Insta-buy author!
Romantic & Amusing But The Constant Internal Waffle Was Too Much For Me!! 3.5 Stars
A decent read. Some real laugh out loud moments I loved Will, Perky & Fiona so much Mallory was a riot but I just got so cheesed off with all of the internal jibberish, it really drove me nuts!
I loved the storyline itself & the interactions between the characters though!!
I WILL be reading ‘Perky’ because she’s crazy

I was excited to read this book after reading the prequel.
Mallory and Will meet again after 10 years under unusual circumstances. (And for those who say she should have known what a fluffer was I had no clue either lol) Will has decided that he isn’t going to let Mallory get away this time. These two were a fun couple. There were times however that I felt Mallory should have picked up on things.
Overall this was a good read and I’ll be reading the next one soon.
What a Fluffy, Feisty and Perky ride.
Laugh out loud funny and a second chance romance? Yes please!
This book has a blend of sassy banter and sexy making it reading perfection.
When Mal misinterprets a job vacancy the shenanigans begin. Will is the owner of the house and Mal used to have a serious crush on him in high school. No spoilers; this is one of those stories which just needs to be read is you are a romcom fan! This is a well written hilarious story which is fun, entertaining, and with witty banter and laugh-out-loud moments throughout. I was completely captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and cannot wait to read more from this extremely talented author.
This is one of those reads that is just an honestly good time.
I don’t know how many times my son gave me “the look” because I broke out in laughter.
Mal is highly intelligent but a bit socially inept. Blessed with book smarts yet lacking in street smarts. For her, it is the everyday things that at times are a bit harder to comprehend. The innuendos, the facades.. why not just say what you mean and mean what you say? Like life hadn’t given her enough hurdles to maneuver. Mal is not really comfortable outside of her box. She seems to prefer being the wallflower. Her straight forward interpretation of life leads to one comical event after another.
Mal ends up reconnecting with her high school crush under the most embarrassing of circumstances. She was supposed to fluffing a home, something she is more than skilled at.
Turns out her lack of slang knowledge may just put her in the pokey.
Will was her high school fantasy. The popular jock who, back then, somehow balanced sexy and smart making it look easy.
Having him suddenly appear back in her life is definitely messing with her Feng Shui. Torn between the need to eat and the ingrained instinct to retreat Mal finds herself in uncharted territory.
Will, on the other hand, sees a second chance. A chance to grasp the one thing he let slip through his fingers.
I really enjoyed how this played out. Lots of comedic relief blended with a very sweet journey of self-acceptance and understanding.
Let us not overlook the dessert menu!
Will is practically the perfect book boyfriend. He has his flaws but for me, they only made him more endearing.
The story line plays a bit into fantasy land but it worked well with the cast and their personalities.
There were a few scenes that had my hackles up(Mal’s behavior at the reunion) and at times I wished I could deliver some attitude adjustments to some of the characters.
But overall?
A great read that had me laughing
It’s laugh out loud funny
This is my first and definitely not my last book from Julia Kent, it was hilarious and I enjoyed it so very much. Fluffy is based on a struggling designer that stages houses professionally until she took a job online that was not what she thought it was at all. Once she found out, her embarrassment didn’t end there, oh no, it got worse when her high school crush showed up and added to the humiliation. Good thing for Mallory, Will had also thought that she may have been the one he was crushing on in high school as well. I did love the humour and there were so many moments I laughed so hard I nearly cried but at one point I wanted to shake Mallory for constantly crying over her former classmates and their behaviour and treatment of her. Just once I wanted her to stand up for herself and tell those useless former classmates just where to go!!! Overall thought the story was wonderful, the characters amazing and the narration by Erin Mallon bang on. She really got the humour across and the dramatic moments. A must read/listen for sure.
4 1/2 stars
Mallory Monahan had a crush on Will Lotham for four years in high school. Now ten years later he has returned home to find her in a porn film setting? You just have to read this to believe what happened.
This romantic comedy is chock-a-block filled with great humour. Fun banter and wonderful expressions, as well as hilarious situations, are literally all the way through the book. There is a serious side of course and that is not swept under the rug either. However the comedic quality is so good I had to give it an extra half a star, there were so many times I found myself in tears from laughing so hard.
This is a fast paced story that is extremely easy to read because not only is it a laugh a minute, but it has a solid storyline as well. Great characters that are really interesting and make you want to know them more as the tale progresses.
I am already looking forward to reading Perky, the next book in this series.
Another super hilariously fun book. So many funny bits, talking about the search terms used to find out about what happened and see pictures on line. And then when the main character calls someone Hagrid’s porn twin, I just about died laughing! Listening to this on my drive home from Branson and it made the drive fly by. I did get mad at the main character at one point when she was mad at her love interest for no reason, but as you’ve heard me say in past reviews, I know that is just how authors add the drama! So much I loved about this story, and let me tell you what, while it wasn’t a cliffhanger per se for how this ended, it definitely left me needing book two, Perky.
An absolutely gut busting rom-com! Mallory and Will are the perfect duo to battle it out in this story about a high school valedictorian and star football player who find themselves bumping into each other back in their home town under the most awkward and hilarious circumstances.
Mallory was so quick witted but also comically naive. Her employment snaffoo had me laughing so hard! One of the best story lines I’ve ever encountered! Throughout the story, she seemed to have to fight for her decision to stay close to home after high school while everyone else moved on.
Will, the swoony high school crush of Mallory is all grown up and even more delicious 10 years later! He became a successful businessman but still holds some of that high school hierarchy nostalgia. It comes back to bite him in the butt when he neglects to stand up for Mallory after he asked her to their 10 year high school reunion. Then there’s groveling, lots of groveling!
This couple an instant ‘ship for me! I wanted Mallory and Will to figure out their feelings and admit them out loud! But the slow burn was certainly delectable! I loved the ending and the epilogue and can’t wait for Perky’s story!
Julia Kent can do comedy! She firmly plants herself near the top of my go-to rom-com authors after reading this!
If you’re in need of a laugh and a book filled with a seriously unfortunate set of events, this is for you.

Mallory is down on her luck in the job department. After coming to the conclusion that she might have to move back in with her parents, she answers a job add looking for a Fluffer. Of course, she assumes they are looking for her expertise in staging houses. That couldn’t have been any farther from the truth. Who is there to save the day? None other than her high school crush!
Will can’t believe what he sees when he gets to his vacation rental. But, he makes the decision to save Mallory for being arrested. What happened to little Miss Perfect from high school?
Fluffy is a rom com that will have you laughing out loud! Erin Mallon did a fantastic brining Will and Mallory to life!
If you are looking for a funny second chance love story then look no further as this one is perfect for you! You will find yourself giggling in public to the point where people will want to know if your crazy because you just can’t stop! Can’t wait for the next in this series!
Fluffy was a hilarious, entertaining romantic comedy that had me in stitches from beginning to end. I could not stop laughing and I could not put it down. After reading the prequel “Little Miss Perfect” I could not wait to see what was in store for us with this book and I was not disappointed. The main characters Mallory and Will had great chemistry together however it was their witty back and fort banter that really had me amused. Mallory’s best friends provided additional hilarity to the story and all together they made this a fun, easy read.
I listened to the audible version of this novel. It was narrated by Erin Mallon who was a great choice for this story. She voiced the characters perfectly and brought the story to life with her timing and delivery. I loved her voice and enjoyed listening to her narration.
Fluffy was a refreshing second chance novel and I would highly recommend it to everyone looking for a fun light read.

I love this story! This is a sweet and hilarious second chance to love and slow burn story. I love Will and Mallory. They are both great characters. If you like Rom-Com, you should love this one. Erin Mallon did an amazing job with the narration. This is a great team author/narrator. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. #AudiobookObsession

OMG with this book! I was cracking up the entire time and loved it.
In continuation to the prequel “Little Miss Perfect” we again meet Mallory and Will but ten years in the future since their failed relationship start in the prequel. Mallory is nerdy and ridiculous in the best of ways. Her naivety makes you wanna face palm but can’t stop you from laughing out loud.
Will had grown to a sexy man.
Will this time work out for both of them or will they miss their opportunity again?
I highly recommend this series and can not wait for Perky’s book coming soon!
