An all-new STANDALONE from New York Times bestselling author Julia KentIt all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term … problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term.
Until it was too late.
The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!
Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.
They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.
The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.
Oh, man…
And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.
By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.
My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined?
Having all my dreams come true.

This book was the best kind of train wreck. Parts were so painfully awkward it was hard to read but so damn funny that I couldn’t help myself.
Funny! Fast pace
Fun book to read, with outrageous characters with quirky personalities.
A really cute and funny book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The repartee was excellent and so was the humor.
Cute, a little baby step into the porn world Entertaining.
This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and is book #1 in this series
Do – Over #1. This book is a real romance and a real rom com book that will have you laughing along with the characters. I loved this story line quite light and fluffy like the title suggest, I really enjoyed reading it.
Book #1 Fluffy
Book #2 Perky
Book #3 Feisty
Malloy is a very lively kind of person and actually makes me laugh a lot even her friends are hilarious too. When she needs a new job and start looking she’ll have you laughing at what her actual job title is. When she answers an add for a professional fluffer she jumps at it, only some things are not as they seem.
Will is a businessman and is all grown up. He is a real caring and loving person and really holds a candle for Malloy.
This author has written these characters so beautiful and so easy to read that you cant get enough of them. I really liked who they are and watching there real slow burn romance develop. I was really rooting along for them and hoped they would pull there finger out and admit there feelings to each other.
This book will have you laughing out loud wile feeling a lot of emotion at the same time and makes you really feel for the characters in the story. This romantic comedy is a real second chance love stories which I always love and I always love books that have epilogues because I feel it always adds something extra special to the books.
Thank you to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read a copy of this book.

5 Super Cranky Stars
Have you ever started reading a book then totally dissapeared into the pages? Lights, sounds and feels, oh all the feels? This is what happened when I started reading Julia Kent’s book. It was a jump in time and place and I really don’t want to leave.
Mallory has had a crush on Will since she was 14. All through high school she day dreamed about him and was left with unrequited feelings. Now ten years later she runs into him, literally, on a Porn set. Could the embarrassment get worse?
Will is shocked to find Mallory on the set of a porn flick being filmed in his parents rental. Having stormed in to shut things down he saves her from being arrested and offers her a job.
They’ve both grown up and the feelings explode along with tons of embarrassing moments and lot of classic Julia Kent comedy. This is a book I will definitely read again and again.
I loved every single minute of it. This book was so fantastic, hilarious, just perfect, it had me laughing and had to pause it many times just so I could keep on laughing because of all the crazy things happening.
The characters are amazing, Mallory is just so funny, she speaks her mind and doesn’t have any filter, and made me laugh many many times. And Will he’s just great. And come on, Mallory’s parents “perfect” timing LOL and their conversations with her, I just couldn’t contain my laughter.
Erin Mallon got to narrate this book, and it was perfect, her comedy timing, voice, everything was great, but that’s obvious when she’s narrating.
Overall it was a pretty amazing book, that will have you in stitches all the time and if you’re looking for a book that will brighten your day and keep you grinning, this is it.
AUDIOBOOK OBSESSION
I really enjoyed this book. I did not want to put it down.
This is my first read by Julia and oh my goodness, I haven’t laughed this hard while reading in awhile.
Mal is a house fluffer – but when she answers a craigslist ad for a so-called fluffer, she learns the other meaning for it. When her old high school crush, Will, shows up the hilarity unfolds. He saves her from getting arrested and doesn’t let her forget her “dog toy”. When he offers her a job as a designer (“house fluffer”) to help prep his parents’ house for sale, they grow closer. As the sexual tension threatens to boil over between Will and Mal, hilarious banter and a wifi speaker hookup fail (that had me dying laughing) with Mal and her friends (Perky and Fiona), and a dreaded high school reunion looming closer – will Mal and Will actually get together and make all of her long lost dreams come true?
I loved Julia’s light-hearted writing with this one. Yeah, it’s a little over the top – but the humor is spot on. I enjoyed the nativity and little bit neurotic Mal so much (I didn’t know the OTHER meaning of “fluffer” either, so thanks Julia!) and Will was so darn sweet and such a gentleman. There is little to no angst and when the sexual tension between these two erupts – boy, I had to fan myself. Perky and Fiona are just as entertaining and I can’t wait to read their stories. I have feeling they will be just as entertaining!
I had no idea what fluff was. OH BOY was I as shocked as Mallory when I found out. This is a laugh out loud story that I could not stop listening to. Mallory has such a wit about her. I loved her quick responses and complete attitude towards her “new job”. But the broadcast in the coffee shop had me in stitches. It is something I could totally see myself doing! Perky is introduced in this story and I could not wait to listen to her story as well. Julia Kent writes such fun romances, I cannot wait to read more.
Erin Mallon narrated this story with so much personality. Ms. Mallon brought out the great wit for Mallory. I enjoy listening to anything Ms. Mallon narrates. She has a great voice and narrates at a perfect pace. The overall experience of this story was enhanced by the narration.
3.5 stars
The setup is cute, naive Mallory answers an ad in Craigslist for a “fluffer.” She thinks it is for a person who stages houses for sale (it was a term used in that industry), but of course, it is for a job on the set of a porn movie. When the Will, the son of the owner of the house shows up with the police, Mallory is just starting to realize they don’t want her for decorating skills. Of course, Will was her crush from High School, and not only does he convince the police not to arrest her, he hires her at the family real-estate business. The book was pretty funny, but there were times that Mallory’s friends’ witty banter was more snarky than funny. Also, while Will was the perfect book boyfriend, Mallory was a little harder to warm up to. Mallory was not only naive, she seemed to be stuck at the emotional level of a fourteen year old. Overall, a flawed, but enjoyable read.
House stager Mallory is desperate for a job. She sees an ad in Craigslist for a “fluffer,” and answers immediately. She naively finds herself walking into a porn set and ends up almost gets arrested. To make matters worse, it turns out that the house they were shooting in was owned by Will—whom Mallory had a HUGE crush on in high school!
I laughed so hard while listening to this book! As someone who’s NEVER seen porn (don’t judge!) I found Mallory’s character relatable. I probably would make the same mistakes she did! I honestly didn’t know some of the terms used and had to find out what they meant!
The only thing that I didn’t like -and the reason why I didn’t give this a five-star rating- was how annoyingly intrusive Mallory’s parents were. That, to me, would have been reason enough to move out of town!
Feisty is a slow burn contemporary romantic comedy written in first-person narrative It’s a low-angst standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
This was hilarious!
I hadn’t read Julia Kent before this book, but I’ll definitely be looking for more after this.
The humor was great, the story was good, and the characters were awesome.
Totally recommend.
I laughed out loud so many times!! I don’t think I have laughed that much in awhile! This was not the first book I have read from Julia, but so far it was my favorite! Really, I had tears from laughter!! Fluffy was just plain amazing!
Mallory had moved back home after loosing her amazing job. She was in desperate need for something…anything… so she answered a Craig’s list ad for a “fluffer”…as in one that staged homes. Boy, was she surprised when she showed up on set!! Could her life get any worse??
Of course it could!!
In walked the cops and Will, her high school crush. He owned the house they were filming at. Of course he did! Luckily, Will came to her rescue so she didn’t go to jail but how would she be able to face him again?
I finished reading pretty late so I only jotted down some notes to write my review later. I was still laughing when I woke up. I am glad Will got his brain in line with his heart! Their love and laughter made them shine. Can’t wait to continue this series!!
Loved it!
Mallory is an out of work home stager aka fluffer. One Craigslist Help Wanted Ad for a Professional Fluffer and she is on her way. Will is her high school crush and the owner of the house being used for filming, illegally. Will a little porn keep Mallory and Will from connecting after all these years?
This is my first Julia Kent book and loved that it kept me laughing. Mallory entertained me with her goofiness. She is super smart but lacks common sense so you can’t help but laugh at her antics. Will seems like a basically nice guy who gets tangled up in all the crazy. Loved Perky and Fi and how much they love Mal and are loyal no matter what. Left me anxious to start Perky’s book!
Fluffy is a smart and fun story with lots of silly antics.
Mallory “Fluffy” Monahan is intelligent but quite a bit ditzy. She gets herself in some crazy situations like ‘accidentally’ taking a job on a porn set where she bumps into her high school crush, Will Lotham.
“Crush. What a word. It’s perfect, really, because the emotions all crush you from the inside out.”
The story is a sweet second chance romance with a guy who does the work to get his girl.
-4 Stars!-
A quirky, witty, and wildly entertaining story. Mallory’s “misunderstanding” opens a new chapter in her life; one that she has tried to push out of her memory for 10 years. There are many laugh out loud moments, and the author kept me intrigued during the whole book.
Fluffy is a fast-paced Rom-com full of witty comments, embarrassing situations, quirky characters and laugh out loud moments.
My first read by Julia Kent but not my last. Fluffy is hilarious from the very beginning and you quickly realise Mal is the type of girl who is ditsy, a little sheltered and her head is in her own little world most of the time.
When Mallory answers a job add for a fluffer thinking it’s along the lines of staging homes and making them look good to sell but when arriving then finds herself on a porn set, the whole situation although embarrassing for Mal is hilarious.
When she then discovers the house is wrongly being used and the owner turns up during an even more embarrassing moment and that person just so happens to be her high-school crush the hot star quarterback Will Lotham then the laughter only increases.
Fluffy is a fantastic Rom-com that would brighten anyone’s reading shelf.
A second chance romance with lots of banter, witty dialogue, brilliantly written with great characters and it all leads to swoon-worthy sexy moments and a hea.
I loved Mal’s friends and I will definitely be looking forward to Perky’s story.
Told in first person.
