An all-new STANDALONE from New York Times bestselling author Julia KentIt all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term … problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term.
Until it was too late.
The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!
Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.
They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.
The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.
Oh, man…
And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.
By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.
My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined?
Having all my dreams come true.

A funny fast read romance.
Great book!!
Not as funny s I expected, but an entertaining read.
The hero was too much of a player. She deserved better.
Twelve pages was all I could stand. Would not recommend and deleted it from my nook.
This is such a great book. I was laughing so hard on some parts, I had to read it to co-workers because of the looks. Do you know how hard it is to read aloud when you have tears streaming down your face and you can’t breathe your laughing so hard?
I really enjoyed this story! It is filled with so much fun. The antics of the characters made me chuckle more than once. What happened to Mallory at the beginning?? I couldn’t stop laughing. Talk about bad timing. The characters are just plain fun. Will and Mallory have so many crazy moments that turn into great memories or snippets for them. The author did a nice job drawing me into their lives and slowly unpealing her plans for them. As secondary characters Fiona and Persephone are the best friends a gal could have. They add a lot to the story and I can’t wait to hear what happens with them.
I did listen to this on audio and Erin Mallon does an amazing job as always!
Fluffy (Do-Over #1) was a great read by Julia Kent. Mallory is a professional fluffier, she stages homes for a living. She is in dire need of a new job and responds to an ad on Craigslist looking for a “professional fluffier”. But it isn’t what she thought it was and finds herself in an uncomfortable position. Which just gets more uncomfortable when Will, her high school crush and owner of the home, shows up. They were filming illegally and the cops show up. Will decides to rescue her from being arrested. I really enjoyed this funny read and can’t wait to read more by Julia Kent. I loved reading Mallory and Will’s story.
I have had this book on my reader forever, but with work and blogging, I have not had as much time to read for myself as I would like.
What a surprise Fluffy is. After readingsome darker, serial killer type stories, I needed something light and “fluffy”
I was groaning “oh noooo, don’t do it” as Mallory takes the Craigslist job. I mean seriously, who equates “fluffer” with house staging? Yeah, me neither.
And we have all dealt with bullies/mean girls at some stage. Most of us grow up. Some stay the horrible people they were in high school forever.
I wanted to love Mallory and Will, and at times I did. But a lot of the time they frustrated the heck out of me.
There were times I just wanted to crawl into the book and give them a piece of my mind. They just really didn’t have much depth most of the time. And I don’t know whether I would call most of the people around their friends. I could kind of sort of deal with Mallory’s friends but those Will surrounds himself with, nuh uh.
This might just be me though, as it seems everyone else really liked them.
Do I like it enough to read the next 2 books? Maybe. Time will tell
Fluffy is in a second chance romance in a roundabout way as Will and Mallery are finally getting their chance at their happily ever after. The banter between the characters and the OMG mishap moments will have you laughing so hard you will have tears in your eyes. I felt sorry for Will and Mallery that every time they got closer her parents would interrupt. This story is told strictly from the heroine’s perspective. I am looking forward to the next story in the Do-Over series, Perky. Again, Erin Mallon did a great job narrating this book.

I listened to the audio version of this quite hilarious book. I love books that are so funny that I can’t keep from laughing out loud and Fluffy is certainly one of those! Funniest thing I’ve read for a long time.
Other reviewers keep knocking Mallory because she’s supposed to be so smart, but is clueless at times and can’t keep her phone charged. Let me tell you—there are a lot of book smart people that don’t have any common sense at all. And one thing they aren’t mentioning is how “smart” and snarky her verbal come backs are. I loved her and I really loved her with Will. I especially loved it when her text that involved an eggplant went to Will instead of to her best friend. Wow! Try to talk your way out of that one!
Will was also a great character. I’m kind of in love with him myself. The book was hilariously and excellently narrated by Erin Mallon. It was great!
This was a laugh out loud, hilarious second chance/contemporary romance with a HEA.
This story involves a hilarious and unusual misunderstanding that ends up bringing two former schoolmates together. It is full of sexual innuendos, misunderstandings, sexual tension, marshmallow Fluff, and a lot of hilarious moments. Mallory “Mal” “Fluffy” is a fluffer/house stager. She is down on her luck with finding jobs. She is about to lose her apartment and may have to move back in with her parents if she doesn’t find a job soon. Will was the popular guy, the high school quarterback every girl swooned over. He also happened to be Mallory’s lab partner when they were in school. Mal crushed hard on him for years while in high school but the love was unrequited. Several years down the road, he has moved back home and taken over his parents’ real estate company. Their reconnection is unconventional, to say the least. Will ends up offering Mallory a job. She doesn’t know if she can handle working with him and stay unattached. Mal thought she was over him but her traitorous heart says otherwise, and she can’t take getting her heart getting broken again by Will.
This was such a quick, fun, and flirty read. I enjoyed every minute of it. It was so funny but there were also emotional and super-steamy moments. The plot was very well-written. There were many wonderful characters. Mal’s inner dialogue was entertaining and beyond side-splitting hilarious. Will was hot and swoony. I will never forget Beastman. Mal’s two best friends, Fiona aka “Feisty” and Persephone aka “Perky”, added so much depth and fun to the story. They were so supportive and ready to do anything for one another. These are the kind of friends everyone should have. My only problem is that I didn’t read this sooner! Julia Kent has climbed to the top of my list as a favorite rom-com author. If you love to laugh and swoon, this is the perfect read for you. I highly recommend reading it. I am jumping into Persephone’s book right now! I can’t wait!

A start to a brand-new series
And what a start it is. This made me laugh out loud so many times I got hiccups. It was cute, pretty low on the angst, and so sweet it gave me a cavity. Mallory and Will went to school together and she had a massive crush on him. Ten years later they’re reconnecting.
This had some cracking one liners and I can’t wait to hear the stories with the amazing friend group. You don’t have to but you should totally read Little Miss Perfect which is the prequel to fluffy and fills in those gaps about high school Mal and Will.
I thought the story line was terrible and stopped reading after about 5 chapters.
Dragged at the beginning but had a great ending!
A fun read that makes you laugh out loud at times. I enjoyed this story.
This book is a fun, funny, and easy to read romance with second chances all over it!
LOVED it!
A fun and quick read. It actually has characters I’ve known in my life. The steamy moments just added to the intensity of their relationship. If you don’t like steam, I advise you don’t read this book.
didn’t finish it- just too stupid
