An all-new STANDALONE from New York Times bestselling author Julia KentIt all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term … problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term.
Until it was too late.
The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!
Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.
They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.
The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.
Oh, man…
And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.
By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.
My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined?
Having all my dreams come true.

What a book! This one took me back to high school with all the friend groups & pop culture. I really enjoyed getting to know Mallory & Will & the rest of the wonderful characters in this book.
Well just when you think Julia couldn’t possibly pull out another bunch of wacky and lovable characters she has does. You will absolutely love Will, Mallory and the bunch that comes with them.
It all started with a misinterpreted ad. Fluffer wanted. Mallory could not believe she had seen this listing on Craiglist. She was down on her bank account since she had lost her last job of staging houses (which her former employer always called it being a fluffer). The ad was asking for a professional Fluffer and that was what Mallory was. Or so she thought.
Mallory has no idea she is about to be caught up in a porn. Yes I said a porn. She believes she is there to help with the feng shui of the furniture and when she gets there she assumes it is a cooking show they are shooting there. Then she meets Beastman and this is where things goes crazy. When it is all said and done she ends up in a picture that will be on the internet forever and to top that all off the house they were using ends up belonging to the parents of the guy she ad crushed on all through high school.
Here enters Will. Her crush, that she thought she had outgrown. He has shown up to shut down production since he found out what this company was using his parents house for. He is shocked to see Mallory after all these years and can’t believe she is part of this whole thing.
Once all is straightened out Will offers Mallory to actually fluff his parents house to get it to finally sale. What happens when Mallory has her crush as a boss and he seems to actually be hinting that he likes her too? Of course in all this, their high school reunion is coming up and Will has asked Mallory to go with him. What will happen when the popular guy brings the smart nerdy valedictorian.
This is such a fun story and I loved it. I can’t wait till mallory’s friends gets their own story.
Fluffy, Julia Kent’s newest standalone book, tickled my funnybone & touched my heart with amazing & sweet characters, who have great chemistry. With so many zany plots & lines, it was a fast read! I loved this book!
What began as a comedy of errors, the development of Mallory & Will’s relationship was a great read. They’re a cute couple so maybe we’ll see them in future Julia Kent books!
This was so amazing. I had so much fun reading it it was sweet and sexy and so. damn. hilarious! I laughed throughout the entire book I loved Mallory, she was such a wonderful character and she had instant chemistry with Will
I highly recommend reading it. I promise you won’t be disappointed
Fluffy is everything you would expect from a Julia Kent novel. Mischievously funny. Irresistibly charming and hard to let go of in the end. I laughed my way to tears. Mal is a tad goofy, but all heart. When desperation lands her in an awkward situation is when the laugh out loud moments begin. What I love most about this author is that the imperfections are what make the story great. Ms. Kent finds gold in the awkward and that’s what appeals to the human in us all.
Julia Kent does it again! She makes dreams and wishes come true. If only every high school crush ended like this. Don’t plan on getting anything else done once you pick the book up to read. It is a definite page turner!
I laughed with Mallory. I cried with Mallory. I rooted for Mallory.
Chocolate brownies even fit in perfectly.
A must read for everyone!
