Maybe ever.” — Adriana Locke, USA Today Bestseller“Ryan continues her streak of amazingly … continues her streak of amazingly accessible and authentic romantic fiction. Grip is a bold and unapologetic look at interracial romance and does not shy away from any of the ideals and prejudices that most of us are too polite to acknowledge – head on- amidst one of the sexiest, and provocative true love romances Ryan has penned to date. Break out the fans folks, Grip is aptly titled and sure to make you need a grip! — Sheena, Smexy Books

REVIEW: 6 MAGNIFICENT STARS
“Her body is honest with me even when she hides the truth. I want her truth. I have to know.”
IF I EVER CONVINCE YOU TO PICK UP A BOOK THIS YEAR, PLEASE LET THIS DUO BE THE ONE. PLEASE.
Having said that, I can only shake my head. If you have been reading my reviews for any amount of time, you know that’s a sign of awe….of wonderment, something I know I won’t be able to properly convey how good it was. I know authors constantly say that they hope to be able to bring a book to their readers that is amazing. After reading this book, I can only hope as a blogger that I can do this book justice with my review. That is my blogger confession right now.
“I’ve had some pretty wild dreams about Bristol Gray. But in my wildest dreams, I couldn’t imagine that, not the nakedness of her body, but the nakedness of her soul, would be the thing that tempted me the most.”
The words in this book emote more than anything I can describe and this love story will haunt me for a long time. The meaning behind the words, the depth of Grip’s soul and the fear behind Bristol’s heart, they are what drive this book. The feelings seep off the pages and you can’t help but be moved by the way Kennedy Ryan writes this one. This book truly moved me….the beauty in her words is indescribable.
It’s books like this that I question WHY I am so willing to give my heart to authors. It’s like they don’t care. I feel like Ryan said, “Let’s see how many ways I can break her heart before I can put it back together. Hopefully I use all the pieces.” I feel like I was put through the wringer with this one. *sigh* So amazing. You won’t walk away unscathed with this one.
Grip’s need for Bristol is so visceral, so deep, so real…but also, know that his mind is what drives him. His soul is what feeds him. My gosh, I FEEL his need. The craving? The want? The desire? He knows she is “it” for him and that he needs to have her. There is a constant thrum of sexual energy you just can’t deny and their chemistry is undeniably off the charts!
“I look at her, cataloging her features one by one and realizing the most fascinating thing about this girl isn’t visible to the naked eye.”
If you were sitting in front of me, I’m sure I would have wide eyes and my arms flailing around as I tried to explain just how much this book affected me. Just how much this book is a MUST READ. Just how much I think everyone should read this. You will be a changed person after reading it. It opened my eyes to some things, hurt my heart with others. I am in awe of her storytelling. She is so visual and descriptive. I think your soul will sigh….I know mine did.
I will never be able to say enough, but this book is worth every minute of time you spend on it. My reaction alone will never convey accurately the perfection that is this book.
“And I know in this moment, I know that I’m lost to him.”

Flow is the introduction or the prequel of an epic story..
The beginning of Grip and Bristol
This book was a surprise for me it was the first book i read from Kennedy but i know her work..
i’m already reading Grip the second part of this beautiful story..
in flow we can se the beginning of the story of Grip and Bristol.. their dreams and hopes … the journey of their friendship and love. you can see and understand the chemistry between them..
Bristol, just got to California. trying to catch up with her brother Rhyson as they haven’t seen each other for awhile. Rhyson thinks she has come to mess up with his life, in someway or another .. he has alienated himself from her and his family for some past issues .. but Bristol doesn’t count that this trip will change her life forever, The last thing she expected was for Grip to turn her world upside down ..
“I look at her, cataloging her features one by one and realizing the most fascinating thing about this girl isn’t visible to the naked eye.”
Grip is a good friend of Bristols brother, Rhyson. he happens to be the one to meet her up at the airport, a meeting that will change the life of them forever.. he didn’t expect to see her, he didn’t expect to have feelings for her, not the little sister of his best friend.. Grip has dreams, he is an aspiring rapper artist. He likes to recite poetry, poetry that will keep Bristol and all of us swooning..
“If I could undo your kisses
If I could un-feel your touch
If I could unhook this heart from yours I would.
But I’m trapped in the memory of what we were
Stuck with the reality of what we are
Tempted with the promise of a future
Afraid of possibility
I don’t know how our story ends, but this—this is where it started.”
The love and the chemistry between Grip and Bristol will flow since the being .. there will be chemistry, and understanding .. It only took a few glances for Grip to fall for Bristol. but he cannot deny the attraction and his feelings. Will Bristol and Grip give their love a chance?
it is intense ride a very emotional but very worth it!! you are going to love these two!!!
FLOW is pure poetry. This book sets the tone and rhythm for an epic relationship between the most unlikely of characters. Bristol Gray and Marlon “Grip” James statistically should never even be in the same orbit. But neither of these two outstanding characters is a mere statistic. Each is more than the sum of their parts. Together, they are infinite.
Kennedy Ryan sets the foundation for a the assuredly unforgettable, extremely intelligent set characters. There are so many reasons they should never have connected, yet those unlikely reasons are the very things that attract them to each other and bind them.
This novella has me feenin’ to get ahold of GRIP, the character and the next installment in this series. These characters are so raw and real. Their physical and verbal interactions are interesting and enthralling. Their attraction is instant, intense, and magnetic. If this is just an appetizing taste of what is to come, I absolutely cannot wait for the whole meal.
“Oh, no. By no means.” Grip leans back, considering me from under heavy eyelids. “I don’t care what color a girl is. I like the color of smart, the shade of funny, and sexy is my favorite hue.”
“What color are you?” he repeats, his eyes never leaving my face. “You, Bristol, are a freaking prism.”
MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS BEFORE YOU READ GRIP!
(And you’re going to read Grip. You have to. I promise, you won’t regret it.)
I wasn’t sure about this story as it began, honestly. It took me a little while to settle into the characters and their surroundings, but once I did, I was totally fascinated by Grip. Never have I met a hip hop musician character who was well read, interesting, real, down to earth, and so obviously talented. Also, let’s not forget his “chocolate charm.”
When Bristol walks into Grip’s life, well really back into Rhyson’s life, they are greeted with a blossoming woman who is not what either of them expected. Grip has to try to tamp down his attraction, which only grows as he has several real & deep conversations with Bristol, while Rhyson has to figure out if he can trust his sister.
This gives a great insight into a bit of the backstory for the characters, and really sets us up for the emotional ride that Grip provides. After my nerves settled, this story really grabbed my heart.
Flow is prequel perfection. I absolutely loved getting to see how it all started for Bristol and Grip. Theirs was a relationship that burned so brightly right from the start, 2 incredible people that connected on such a deep and all encompassing level. Seeing Bristol in such a different light from what we know of her from the Soul series was such a revelation! And Grip, Grip is some kind of special.
As if I hadn’t wanted their full story before, after reading Flow I dove right into Grip!
