A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. A clean romance about Ruby and her dog Red. An adventure Ruby takes to help out the older community Shady Grove Place. This is book five but an easy to follow along on and a standalone read.
When I pick up one of Debbie White’s Romance Across State Lines books, I know I am going to get a wonderful story. Florida Fling was no exception. Well developed characters like Ruby, an author who visits the local retirement community of Shady Grove with her Irish Setter, Red. She meets Drake who is anxious to move his father out of Shady Grove due to the conditions. Ruby convinces him to help her raise the funds to save it. They join together with many ideas and a short amount of time to accomplish their goal. A fun and entertaining story.
Florida Fling is a clean romance written by Debbie White and is book 5 in the Romance Across State Lines series. This book is about Ruby, an author living near the Shady Grove Place, an apartment-style home for the older community where she and her Irish setter Red visit the residents on a regular basis. Ruby learns that Joel, one of her favorite residents, is being moved by his son. She also discovers that the reason is due to the poor condition of the home. Ruby gets involved by planning fundraising events to assist the owner and her older friends. She gets Joel’s son Drake and the owner on board with her ideas to save Shady Grove Place from bankruptcy. Ruby and Drake team up to meet this goal and soon feelings become involved.
Debbie White writes well, incorporating a strong plot and full character development to bring about a sweet romance. 4 1/2 stars.
Florida Fling is a sweet, clean, fun romance. Ruby, an author with a rescue pet, devotes time and dog to a retirement community that is going to close. Drake is an attorney whose dad lives in this community. Ruby starts planning fundraisers to save the home and enlists Drake to run a gold charity event. Both these busy people have trust issues. The characters and plot are well-written. It was fun to see Ruby and Drake learn to trust and the book has a very satisfying conclusion. I enjoyed my stay in Florida!
enjoyed this sweet story set in Shady Grove, Florida. Ruby Bennett is such a sweet person, who along with her dog, Red visits the people living in Shady Grove Place. I also liked that she was a romance writer.
Throw in Joel Carrolton and his son, Drake and the news that the retirement home will be closing at the end of the year and the fun begins. It was interesting to see all of the ideas Ruby had to raise money for Shady Grove Place. I also liked how everyone in the community came together to help. Add to all of that the chemistry and sparks flying between Ruby and Drake and romance begins and so does the fun. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
FLORIDA. FLING. Debbie White
Delightful to read, it’s opening has you at the shoreline playing with Red.A rescue dog full of energy, and loves people. For her she writes romance, with odd hours, and seems a relationship is not to be. Highlight is for the two to visit the seniors. Now to hear there is problem, the repairs are long overdue, as well as taxes. WithDrake would that be the answer for her and this place. Her grandmother always said, the special one hadn’t come yet. . Nice flowing story that draws you with good detail of the setting and people. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
Florida Fling is a sweet contemporary stand-alone romance with a HEA. Ruby and Drake are very different but have to learn to trust each other if they are to work together. Saving Shady Grove Place is their common goal. The characters are likeable enough and Red is adorable. This is slightly on the short side but overall it is a good read.
A sweet contemporary romance, one that brings out that when people work together for a common cause, great things can be accomplished. Ruby, Red, and Drake didn’t start out too well but as Ruby broke through Drake’s reserve, she found that under his professional facade there was a man with a heart that cared for his Dad and was up for a challenge. Set in a small sea-side town with long walks on the beach and a dog to bring a smile to one’s face, this romance is clean, well written and comes to a heart-warming close. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
It’s the ultimate road trip. Courtesy of author Debbie White. Florida is the perfect destination for a bit of fun in the sun and a whole new outlook on that crazy little thing call love. When you lead with your heart, the possibilities are endless. For Ruby and Drake, lending a helping hand, helped them find the missing pieces of their daily lives. Florida Fling flirts with heartache and imparts a bit of wisdom. Fresh and fun equal fabulous.
“Florida Fling” by Debbie White
This was a fun, easy, sweet, clean, contemporary, romance with our required HEA ending. So come along and witness two adults with relationship issues learn to trust maybe for the first time. I would call it a short story or novella, just the right size to tell you the story you want to read. I was gifted an ARC of this story and I am pleased to share this review you.
