When first impressions happen twice.
Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other’s backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Atlas’s story …
Single Dad of Seattle, Atlas Stark is in over his head. A widower, he’s been left to raise his … head. A widower, he’s been left to raise his daughter, and his infant cousin alone, while also trying to make partner at his law firm. If things at work weren’t stressful enough, his home life is getting hairy too. His daughter’s acting out, eager for her father’s attention, and she’s taking it out on the baby. Already stretched too thin, he’s one frayed strand away from snapping. Desperate for help, he takes her to see a therapist. What he doesn’t count on is her being a tall, blonde knock-out with sapphire eyes and penchant for motorcycles. Too bad she annoys the crap out of him.
Tessa Copeland’s life has never been easy. With a chronically ill mother, she was forced to grow up quicker than most. A successful art therapist, she’s determined not to let her baggage set her back. Until her fiancé cheats on her and takes her dog. She’s never brought her personal life to work, but she can’t stop thinking about the father of one of her clients, or the fact that he’s an assuming jerk with a smolder that gets her engine running. But things grow blurry when she finds herself seeking legal counsel from the broody Atlas, and even though the two continue to butt heads, their chemistry is undeniable.
Will flirting with the single dad lead Tessa down a dangerous road riddled with potholes and blind turns? Or will it be exactly what they both needed to finally feel whole again?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

Fantastic read, this series is amazing! Fell into this so easily and for sure a page turner! Characters you feel you know all to well, and a brilliantly written story line.
Didn’t want this to end, had me hooked from the beginning
I think Atlas is my new favorite single dad. I was so engrossed into this story that I almost forgot to feed my kids dinner lol. Atlas was the broody, grumpy dad of the group but losing your spouse will do that to a person. On top of dealing with his grief and work, he is raising two young daughters on his own. Tessa is dealing with so much in her own life and when the two meet the sparks start flying. Their story is so full of emotion, loads of drama, humor, plenty of steam, and fabulous characters that I did not want it to end. Another fantastic book in this already amazing series.
The book is a good romantic comedy read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable funny romance read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have to be totally honest here. As much as I loved Atlas and wanted him to get his happy ending, I was worried. He is a moody guy at best and a downright grump at worst so I was concerned that he wouldn’t embrace falling in love again. But this is Whitley Cox, she has never let me down, ever. I totally and completely loved Atlas and Tessa’s story! It consumed my attention, it was sooo romantic and sweet, heartbreaking and real. The passion and admiration that develops between two people who have been taken some hits from the universe, it is all the more touching that they deserve to be happy and whole. Phenomenal read!
I received an advanced reader copy. I am voluntarily leaving a review. Atlas is a quiet, grumpy man. His wife died a year and a half ago, leaving him to raise their then 2 year old daughter on his own. He then ends up caring for his cousin’s infant daughter after an explosion kills the baby’s father and puts the mother in the hospital, all while he is working towards becoming a named partner at his law firm. His daughter starts acting out and he brings her to see Tessa, an art therapist, who is working on her Doctoral dissertation and whose fiancee just ran off with another woman and stealing her dog. Sparks fly on this opposites attract romance. There are laughs, there are tears and there is plenty of steam in this newest addition to the Single Dads of Seattle series.
I have been waiting a very long time to read Atlas’s story from the beginning of the series and Whitley did not disappoint! If you have read Single Dads of Seattle from the beginning, you know what we were first introduced to Atlas in book one. He was a recent widower and very broody. Throughout the series, you find out not only does he have his daughter Aria, but then takes custody of his cousin’s daughter.
In the beginning, we learn why Atlas has custody of his cousin’s daughter and life is chaos for Atlas’s little family. That chaos is what leads him to meeting Tessa, a very strong, fiery woman. There is also a misdialed text connection at work during the beginning, as well as a stolen dog, that brings about an interesting twist. When Atlas and Tessa finally come together, it is a beautiful explosion of emotions.
The range of emotions that are displayed throughout had me laughing, raging and crying. Atlas and Tessa’s love story is truly a beautiful one. It was well worth the wait to see Atlas get a happy ending.
I couldn’t wait to read Flirting with the Single Dad. Grumpy Atlas of the single dads group has finally met his match. I love Tessa. She’s so strong. This book was so emotional. It hit me on many levels. Just like the rest of the series, I loved it. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a great read. I received this ARC in return for an honest review.
OMG the newest book in Single Dads of Seattle is here Flirting With The Single Dad. This book is about Atlas and Tessa. All through the other books we’ve heard about Atlas and now here is is in my hands and what a story it has been. Atlas is mood, has no zest for life or nonsense he’s a single dad who isn’t coping well. Tessa is a art therapist and when Atlas and Tessa meet it doesn’t go well but there is something either of them realize they are talking anonymously on there phones. Can these two people who are so different be the happy for each other. Only time and patience will tell. Whitley Cox has had us delve into a brilliant world of single dads where we’ve laughed, cried, hoped and now we are anticipating the best book yet to come LIAM I so can’t wait to read his story. 5 STARS Series
Atlas and Tessa will have you all in and cheering them towards a deserving happily ever after. When Tessa comes across pictures that suggest her fiancé is cheating she gets rid of him but not before he takes her dog. Now she is texting strangers thinking it’s her ex but in reality it’s Atlas. Their connection will come to fruition when Tess is the Art Therapist who is suggested to work with his daughter. Talk about coincidences! This nonstop drama will have you tied up from start to finish! I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Wow just wow!!! This series is amazing and gets more amazing with each story. This story was wonderfully written with awesome characters. Loved the characters and their attraction. This story grabbed me from the beginning so much so I couldn’t put it down. I loved seeing how Atlas and Tessa worked through their hurt and overcame their tendency to close out others. Definitely a must-read.
Very Good Read
It was fun and at the same time angsty. Not quite a traditional single dad story, as this time is not a nanny but the therapist. I really did enjoy Tessa and Atlas, even the kids. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
5 star review Flirting With The Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #9) by Whitley Cox
I feel like a bit of a broken record with this series. I find myself with a new favourite whenever I read a new book in this series. There is just something about a series based around ten single dads that one by one find love and happiness that really resonates with me.
I couldn’t wait to dive in to Atlas Stark and Tessa Copland’s story and it was everything I was hoping it would be. Yet I also didn’t want to finish this book knowing that this is the second to last book in the series. The Single Dads of Seattle have fast become one of my favourite series. They love their families and the friends who have become brothers as they meet each Saturday for their poker night.
Atlas is a widower struggling to raise his three and a half year old daughter Aria as well as his cousin’s baby daughter Cecily. Aria is having issues and acting out, particularly against Cecily and Atlas is struggling. When a fellow single dad suggests he take Aria to an art therapist he is sceptical but desperate so signs her up. Initially there is something about Tessa that aggravates him, perhaps it is the attraction that he is doing his best to ignore.
There is also another connection that I will not mention, it was one of the things I really enjoyed about their relationship. There were times that my heart broke for all of the main characters.
One of the things I love with this series is that we often see other members of the club pop up throughout the story; the camaraderie and friendships amongst the men and the women they fall in love with is something that I love to catch up on. Truthfully I will really miss these people when the series ends.
My heart just about broke for Aria as she struggled to come to terms with her mother’s death and the sudden arrival of Cecily in their house. There were times when I laughed and times where I wanted to cry but I was riveted from the first to the last chapter.
There was something special about the relationship that developed between Atlas and Tessa; the chemistry between Atlas and Tessa is intense but oh so hot and steamy.
Perhaps it was the connection that was obvious between them, or the fact that their relationship developed with care and consideration of one another’s pasts, l’m not sure, but this story really got to me on a number of levels.
Flirting With The Single Dad was an entertaining book with amazing characters who you cannot help but become invested in.
I was so engaged from the very first page with the great storyline and characters that were so well created that as the pages were turned Atlas and Tessa kept me totally glued to my kindle until the turn of the very last page!
Atlas Stark is a moody, grumpy widower grieving the death of his ‘one and only’ love, his wife and mother of his 3 1/2-year-old daughter. For the last year, he has attended Saturday night poker with the Single Dads of Seattle at his boss’ home, where he received a recommendation for an art therapist for his daughter who is striking out against his infant cousin he is also caring for. Now after a couple visits, Atlas finds himself taken with two women. One, he has contact only via text, does not know many details about her, but he really enjoys flirting with her and advising her on redeeming her beloved dog from her ex-fiance. The second is an unexplainable urge toward the hippie, scooter riding therapist he has no confidence in. You will love reading how he becomes deeply involved with both women. Your heart will ache for Tessa, as she cares for her early-onset-Alzheimer mom and worries about having the gene herself. Cox’s Single Dads series just get better and better!
Atlas is a single dad with the weight of the world on his shoulders. He wife passed from a common illness. The timing could not have been more on the nose for this story. His daughter Aria is having trouble coping with the loss as well, so she is seeing as therapist. That’s where Tessa comes in.
Tessa hass her own baggage her long time boyfriend has a chicky on the side, if that’s not bad enough he stole her dog. What a creep.
So Tessa decided to let his new girlfriend know just what a dog he is. Oops she texted the wrong number, darn that was good too.
So anonymously Atlas and Tessa becomes texting buddies with Atlas (anonymously). In real life Tessa does not think highly of Atlas. But peel those layers back unknowingly and you get a guy who is trying to doggy paddle in the middle of a raging ocean.
We do have some laughs
Some emotional break throughs
A little bit of good news
Some hanky panky
A family born from the ashes of pain, sorrow, illness and death .
This was another great read in the single dad series.
This is book 9 in the series, can be read as a stand-alone but why would you want to. This series is centered around a group of single dads who navigate how to be and sure, finding the right one. This one is a little different since Atlas is not divorced, he is a widower. His single dad status is not by choice but by fate. He is super growly in every book leading up to this one and i admit, even in this one. He has a reason to be. He is desperately trying to raise his 3 year old daughter along with his cousin’s baby while working toward a name partner in his law firm. His head is barely above water when his oldest daughter starts lashing out at the baby. Therapists are not his thing, at all.
Tessa is a joy. She too has too many things on her plate, including her PhD in child therapy . I wont go into too much detail since part of it has to do with how they meet. I adored this meeting and how their relationship developed from it. Tessa has my upmost respect for handling things the way she did. I dont know how calm i would have been.
I so enjoyed Altas and Tessa’s story. I didnt know how Ms. Cox was going to get Altas his HEA, i just couldnt see it. I’m so glad how this turned out and now i must say Atlas has taken a super high spot on my favorite of this series.
Another ten out of ten!
Atlas is struggling – looking after his daughter and taking in his baby neice, working towards making partner in Liam’s law firm he looks like he’s got everything under control but he’s reaching the end of his sanity. Then his daughter starts acting up so he takes her to art therapy which works wonders. Tessa, the therapist, has problems of her own. Dumped by her fiance who also took the dog, she misdials and ends up texting a stranger who gives her some legal advice.
While she and Atlas didn’t hit it off at the therapy sessions, it’s a different matter over text messages and it’s not long before the two are flirting.
A great read which gives us the background to Atlas and why he was so grumpy in the other dads’ books. We also get a glimpse into Liam’s life, whetting the appetite for book ten!
Where do I begin? Wow, Atlas is complicated, angry, hurt, grieving for the love of his life, holding onto the last thread he has all while trying to raise his daughter Aria and his cousin’s baby, Cecily. His hands are full with work, the kids and keeping his life and family together, well trying to. Tessa is amazing, she’s smart, sassy, fun and a strong woman, that is until her jerk of an ex takes something from her that means the world and won’t give it back and she goes into a tailspin, texting who she thinks is her ex’s new girlfriend only to find out it isn’t.
When Atlas receives a text meant for someone else, he’s amused at first, reading her rants, and then letting this person know, hey you’ve got the wrong person. Something that starts out as a mistake turns into something Atlas looks forward to every day. Tessa has so much on her plate and doing what she loves is what will get her through all of this and when her newest client shows up with his daughter for art therapy to help with her acting out, neither of them saw what was coming. Their story was so touching, emotional for both characters, the attraction was explosive and for Atlas, the thought of loving someone other than his wife was unheard of, that is until he met Tessa. Amazing read, couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for Liam’s book!
This story in the single dads of Seattle series is just wonderful. It has a great storyline and fabulous characters. It has good and fun plots, twists and turns and of course the always popular HEA is there as well. Overall so very deserving of the four and a half stars I am giving it here.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Again this Author did not disappoint. Love how these two started things. I don’t want to leave spoilers but I think atlas will be my number 2 in the single dad’s of Seattle series. I have a huge feeling Liam will be taking number 1. But man this story was perfect. Thank you Whitley for another unputdownable book. Why yes i made up my own word… dont judge. It was that good.
