When first impressions happen twice.
Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other’s backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Atlas’s story …
Single Dad of Seattle, Atlas Stark is in over his head. A widower, he’s been left to raise his … head. A widower, he’s been left to raise his daughter, and his infant cousin alone, while also trying to make partner at his law firm. If things at work weren’t stressful enough, his home life is getting hairy too. His daughter’s acting out, eager for her father’s attention, and she’s taking it out on the baby. Already stretched too thin, he’s one frayed strand away from snapping. Desperate for help, he takes her to see a therapist. What he doesn’t count on is her being a tall, blonde knock-out with sapphire eyes and penchant for motorcycles. Too bad she annoys the crap out of him.
Tessa Copeland’s life has never been easy. With a chronically ill mother, she was forced to grow up quicker than most. A successful art therapist, she’s determined not to let her baggage set her back. Until her fiancé cheats on her and takes her dog. She’s never brought her personal life to work, but she can’t stop thinking about the father of one of her clients, or the fact that he’s an assuming jerk with a smolder that gets her engine running. But things grow blurry when she finds herself seeking legal counsel from the broody Atlas, and even though the two continue to butt heads, their chemistry is undeniable.
Will flirting with the single dad lead Tessa down a dangerous road riddled with potholes and blind turns? Or will it be exactly what they both needed to finally feel whole again?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

De-Café Review of Flirting with the Single Dad [The Single Dads of Seattle Book 9] by Whitley Cox
I read this as a stand alone in the series and will be making the effort to go back and read the previous offerings.
Atlas Stark- Overwhelmed Single Dad and lawyer. Lost his first love and wife to cancer. 3.5-year-old daughter and 10-month-old adopted daughter.
Tessa Copland- art therapist. Recently boke up with a dog stealing cheater of a fiancé.
This story is amazing! I loved wit and charm of Atlas & Tessa’s story. You can tell because of life Atlas is overwhelmed and closed off to most everything but his two daughters, Aria & the baby he adopted from his cousin baby CeCe.
Atlas’ daughter Aria who is 3 and half starts acting out against baby CeCe his fellow single dads recommend a child therapist and fate opens the door with Tessa. Tessa comes with her own baggage, an ex-fiancé who stole her dog. This story is fun and quirky right from page one and could not put it down. I always love instant attraction and chemistry between the characters. The banter between the characters is entertaining and really helps move the story. I really enjoyed the quirkiness of Tess played against Atlas’ Type A personality.
This was a great introduction for me to the world of Whitley Cox. I can not wait to see what she writes next. This was a 4/5 read for me. It was short and I got my HEA. Some of Tess’ quirks were a little hard for me to get past. I am not much of a healing crystal type of person, but it did play well with Atlas, just felt over the top.
An interesting and captivating fast pace book nine in the Single Dads of Seattle series! From start to finish I was captivated with the overall quality of this book, and became engrossed in the wonderful and emotionally deep story line. It is well developed with drama, humour, ups and downs, and lots of steam. The characters are strong and likeable; the chemistry between them is potent, undeniable, and just flew off the pages. An exciting, read and is strongly recommended! Looking forward to reading book 10!

This is the 9th book in this amazing series and is Atlas and Tessa’s story. Atlas is a single dad to his little daughter, as well as bring up his cousins’ baby, so it is not surprising that he portrays a grumpy alpha, as life has been tough for him. Tessa sends a text having a good old rant to the incorrect person and that is Atlas. This is a beautifully written story which is emotional, entertaining, and with vulnerable and loving character. I highly recommend for all readers.
This is really good series. Good storyline and great characters, very engaging and entertaining. Every book is standalone.
Ten single dads club. This book is nine in the series and sadly close to the end.
Atlas David and Tessa Maria meet under unusual circumstances. Wrong number ,right guy. And little girl who lost her Mommy.
While adults try to figure out their relationship, Aria is the girl who knows before them.
The romance has same drama thrown in and topped with humour.
Enjoy reading!

I loved Atlas and Tessa.
Now I know I may have said this before but this is my favourite book of the series so far. I loved every minute of Flirting with the Single Dad. I laughed, I cried and everything inbetween.
Atlas is a widower with two little girls to look after, when his oldest, 3 year old Aria needs a little more support he takes her to art therapy where he meets Tessa. It definitely isn’t love at first sight and Tessa is dealing with issues of her own but the more they get to know each other the more they could be just what each other need.
Another fantastic installment of the Single Dads of Seattle. Each of these books can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading them all in order to get the full enjoyment of the wonderful series.
The ninth book in the Single Dads of Seattle series and once again Ms. Cox has brought her A game.
Atlas has not had an easy time of things. He lost his wife and was left caring for his daughter. He is taking care of his cousin’s newborn and is looking at becoming a partner at his law firm. Having all of these demands is not an easy. Is it any wonder he is grumpy. Tessa is an independent woman but when the man, she spent the past five years with has ghosted her and taken the dog too. She looses it and sends a text to the new girl giving her a piece of her mind. The text goes Atlas instead.
Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading them in order, as the single dads make appearances in all of the books.
I love the family the single dad’s have formed and how they are there for the kids and each other.

Flirting with the Single Dad by Whitley Cox. This book is part of a series, and each story can be read as a standalone. Characters from other stories in this series are weaved into each story, some people may prefer to start from book one just to keep up with who is who. This is a great story with filled with drama, personal conflicts, hard choices, and passion. Atlas and Tessa make a great couple and I was really happy to finally get to read his story. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
I really enjoyed this story, it’s filled with plenty of drama and emotion, my heart ached for both Atlas and Tessa, both have a heartbreaking backstory. I enjoyed the interaction between them, the banter and bickering and the flirting was entertaining. I even liked the children and how Tessa connected with both Aria and Cecily.
Atlas is a man who is juggling a lot of balls in the air and he is beginning to feel like he is not handling any of them very well. Still dealing with the loss of his wife he is now a single father to their daughter and if that isn’t enough, he is looking after his cousin’s infant daughter as well. When you combine that with trying to not only put in the necessary hours at work but be considered for a promotion he doesn’t have the time or energy for anything else but receiving a text that wasn’t intended for him might just be the best thing that has ever happened to him.
Having her long term boyfriend leave her for another woman is bad enough but when he takes Tessa’s dog that is adding insult to injury. Sending a text to the wrong person leads to a fun and flirty relationship with someone she doesn’t know but when she finds out who he is and how they are connected things are about to get complicated.
This is an emotional story about two people who are trying to handle the hurdles that life continues to throw at them and they may just find the love and support that they both need in each other.
Such a Heartfelt Story.
I loved this storyline that held such rich emotions and characters, some new and some familiar. The author continues to bring a united cast of men who has each other’s back when the need arises. In this case it’s for Atlas, one of the attorneys who is a widower with a three year old daughter and an eighteen month year old girl(legal guardian of).
He meets child therapist, Tessa When his daughter acts out toward her cousin. They are attracted to each other. But, at the same time Tessa has met a man when she misdials and goes off into a rant when she discovers her ex fiancée has taken her dog.
So how will this all, play out? Will Atlas Come out of his grieving funk? Will Tessa get her dog back? Will there be an HEA?The odds are good but it’s a bumpy road so be prepared.
I’m wholeheartedly recommending this book for your reading enjoyment, pleasure and satisfaction. Peace.

I just loved this book. It was so well-written that it captured my mind and I was dragged along for the ride. Once I started reading I could not put it down until I read the last page.

This is the ninth book in the Single Dads of Seattle series and it is Atlas Stark’s story. Once again Ms. Cox has brought her A game with this one as readers come to know the man behind the grumpy exterior he portrays when in reality, like most people, he is just trying to get through the day. Atlas has not had an easy time of things. He lost his wife and was left caring for his daughter. He is taking care of his cousin’s newborn and is looking at becoming a partner at his law firm. Having all of these demands is not an easy juggle and to add icing to the cake, he is not easily able to find a nanny to help him. Is it any wonder he acts the way he does? Tessa is an independent woman but loses it when she realizes that the man, she spent the past five years with has another girlfriend on the side, took the dog, moved out of their apartment and has proceeded to ghost her. Not one to let things lie, when Tessa finds the girlfriends number, she decides to send a text to give her a piece of her mind. However, the text does not go to its intended recipient, instead it is sent accidentally to Atlas. Whitley Cox is a talented author with a panache for bringing out the human emotion and vulnerability in her characters that make reading her work a true pleasure. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading them in order as the single dads make appearances in all of the books. This is one outstanding read and I eagerly am awaiting the tenth book which is Liam’s story! I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.
Atlas is tall, broody and delicious who is doing his best to not only raise his daughter Aria and his cousins daughter Cecily while trying to make partner at his law firm and deal with the loss of his wife. Step in hippie skirt and bangle wearing Tessa who is going to help Aria work through the sometimes crazy acts (ie permanent jimmy jams) and attitude towards Cecily, oh but thats not all there is also David and Marie along with a kidnapped dog named Forest and what fun they bring to the mix after a miss dial text. I just love Atlas and Tessa, they have both been through a lot and neither feel worthy of love again but when sparks fly well its all on. Be ready for an emotional ride with heartache, cute kids, plenty of laughs, new friends, secrets revealed, falling in love and a kickass team of lawyers and muscle who are going to get Tessa’s beloved dog Forest back!
oh Atlas, how I thought you were just a grumpy pants, but did you ever prove me wrong! Atlas is strong, protective, closed off and doing everything he feels is right to keep moving after an incredible loss. He never thought something so random could bring him joy and I loved watching him open up and realize that loss doesn’t mean things will never be good again. Tessa just wanted to get her personal life back on track after her ex tore her world apart, and having an ill mother wasn’t helping either. I loved how the attraction between these two was pure and innocently sweet in one way and quite intense in another. They worked so well together, and I loved the way they each cared for and supported each other. The way they love is sweet, pure, hot and intense! I loved Atlas and his grumpy pants ways, and I loved Tessa even more for putting that grumpypants man in his place!
As always Whitley weaves a web, I always find myself happy to be caught in. Flirting with the Single Dad is the ninth in the series and boy it’s a crier. I have followed this series from book one, and I have been itching to get my hands-on Atlas’ book, it was so worth the wait!
Losing the love of his life made Atlas broken, in pain and grieving. Left with the task of raising not only his own daughter but his cousin’s baby as well, Atlas is lost, angry and holding on by the skin of his teeth. Grumpy, sad and filled with sorrow, the first light of happiness that reaches him from outside his children is a miss sent text message. One that makes him smile for the first time since his wife died.
Tessa is strong independent woman, kind, smart and loving, but one that is lost in her own way. After finding out that the man she was with for five years has another girlfriend, she snapped. In a haze of passion, Tessa finds her ex’s “girlfriends” number and decides to put her in her place. A rant to end all rants. However, this message isn’t sent to who she thinks, it ends up with the smoking hot Atlas.
A text that was never meant to being them together forms a friendship that then becomes something so much deeper.
The one thing I love the most about Whitley Cox is how real the emotion is in her books. These are real things that could happen to people, the pain of losing a loved one and the vulnerability of letting someone in again. The fact that these books revolve around Dads is also something I really enjoy, they are loving a caring and will do anything for their children. Now I do recommend that you read this series in order to get the full effect, they are on KU and you won’t be disappointed.
Ms. Cox has saved the best for last and I can not WAIT to get my hands-on Liam’s and his story!
4 stars
You know the kneeling man holding up the world pose called Atlas?, pretty sure they modeled it after this guy. Our Atlas is now a single dad trying desperately to hold everything together for his two girls after losing his beloved wife. As a high-powered lawyer, single dad to two young girls and a widower, Atlas has his hands full. When his oldest daughter begins acting out against the intruder on their house, her new baby sister, Atlas can’t handle it on his own any longer. He reluctantly calls in an “expert” to help his daughter uncover and deal with her resentment toward the baby. He didn’t expect to fall for her therapist!
Tessa is having a bad month, or a few of them. After finding out her fiance has been cheating on her and stole her dog, she loses it and spews a serious of hate texts at his new lover. But a misplaced number causes her to instead text a random stranger, one equally in need of connection, even if he doesn’t know it.
My heart broke for all the pain for both Atlas and Tessa. They both just radiate heartache and it is just consuming at times. Atlas has shut off his heart behind thick walls and he doesn’t understand what it’s doing to those around him. Tessa is just holding on through her mother’s illness and her fiance’s betrayal. I’ve never seen lawyers fight so vigorously over an animal but if ever a dog and his owner should be reunited it’s Forest and Tessa. Her ex was the worst asshole ever and I was so happy to see the lawyers and friends ban together to take that tool down a few notches.Flirting with the Single Dad is heartbreaking but sexy and sweet with some funny and great friends thrown in.

I think what I liked most about this book was the whole texting back and forth without actually knowing who the other person was part of the storyline. Very similar to the old-fashioned wrong number on the phone which probably has me showing my age but I loved how Tessa and Atlas initially connected that way and got to know each other. There was so much emotion that fairly jumped off the pages of the book and as a reader, I felt every one of them! Keep your tissues handy because you are going to need them!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Loved Atlas and Tessa
When I think this series can’t get any better I’m again proved wrong. Tessa and Atlas’s story will consume you. I loved Atlas he was such a good dad but overwhelmed. The way the author writes you feel what each character is going through. I’m such a fan of her writing style. Tessa was an amazing character and my heart broke for everything she went through with her crazy ex. I wanted to throat punch him so bad lol. I need a group of friends like these! All in all the was a great story!
Another great story in the ‘Single Dad’s’ series that I couldn’t get enough of. I loved Atlas & although he’s a strong confident lawyer he is struggling being a widow bringing up his young daughter & baby cousin. He gets a random text from somebody who is seriously unhappy that her fiance is cheating on her & reels off her anger he sends her a message back telling her she has the wrong number. Tessa is a bit embarrassed sends an apologetic reply they continue texting each other her explaining the reason behind the text & how her ex had stolen her dog & he promises to get it back for her. The next day he is meeting Tessa a therapist a friend recommended for his 3yr old daughter whos no behaving too well with things going on at home one being she lashes out at the baby for no reason. When he meets Tessa he thinks she is a hippie & not going to be able to help his daughter & acts all cold to her, Tessa notices this but doesn’t say anything. They have been texting each other & even spoke on the phone but agreed no giving actual names or talk of anything personal & they start having feelings for each other but neither have any idea who the other person is & over time they have started with feelings for each other. Something has also changed between him & Tessa until eventually one night he gives up & goes to see her & they both give into the sexual chemistry going on they then both feel a bit guilty as they feel like they are cheating on their text buddies until something catches his eye a tattoo on her wrist. That night he is talking to her on the phone & asks is she has any tattoos she says yes & sends him a pic it’s then that he realises that Tessa is his mystery woman & he has to tell her & hopes she is happy & still wants to be friends. When he tells her she is happy & they agree that they had some connection & continue to see each other for a while without his daughter knowing as she has made massive progress with Tessa & is like a different child but he is also protective of Tessa & determined to get her dog Forest back & make her ex Carlye pay. There are so may emotions going on that you really feel for the characters Tessa has been hurt by her ex & Atlas is hurting over the loss of his wife, then they find happiness together she has become part of his friends & all the other single dads like her & their partners have taken her into their group & there’s lots of laughter, love with that also tears. It seems like just as things are going well between them parts if their past that they haven’t shared threaten to tear them apart. I love that all of the dads & his friends help him to see what he could be losing & I can’t wait for Liam’s story.
I loved the way this book starts out. I absolutely love Atlas. He was someone I wanted to know more about my heart broke to learn his wife had died. He takes on the parent role his cousin’s little girl that is something I can relate to myself. This series is becoming one that I will need to reread once the whole series is finished. I love this book it has been all over the place with my emotions for me that makes the best story. I recommend this book and the whole series. Love love it.
