He’s a hot single dad. A military man with abs of steel. My brother’s best friend. My biggest enemy. And now my fake date to my best friend’s wedding. Disasterville, here we come…Mission: Survive my best friend’s wedding, where I must play nice with my ex and his perfect new girlfriend.Strategy: Bring the hottest fake boyfriend on the planet.Target: Grady Rock. Master Baker. Dimples. Muscles. … planet.
Target: Grady Rock. Master Baker. Dimples. Muscles. The unicorn of fake boyfriends.
Complication: Wyatt Morgan. My brother’s best friend. My sworn enemy. Military man. Sexy as hell single dad. The man I let into my panties for one night of hot hate sex after my ex dumped me.
And the man who just scared off that perfect fake boyfriend.
By pretending to be my real boyfriend.
I can roll with this though. What’s the harm in Flirting with the Frenemy if it helps me get the job done?
Complete my mission and move on.
Or so I thought.
Until Wyatt kisses me again and I start feeling things I shouldn’t.
The thing about weddings…nothing ever goes as planned.
Flirting with the Frenemy is a rollicking fun romantic comedy featuring a single dad military man, an irritatingly attractive blast from his past, pirates, cursing parrots, and a wedding gone wild. It stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers.

Flirting with the Frenemy by Pippa Grant was so much fun to read. Her books tend to be hilarious and at times over-the top, but they are also charming and full of steaminess. They are a great escape when you just want to read something enjoyable and light.
Ellie and Wyatt have always had a push and pull relationship. I loved their banter and back and forth. Wyatt is Ellie’s older brother’s best friend and has always been a part of her life and driving her crazy. Then when both of them are at their lowest, in a moment of weakness, they give into temptation. I do not want to give too much away, but well things do not work out very well for them at this point.
Months later she needs a fake boyfriend to her friend’s wedding where her ex and his new girlfriend will be. She has it all planned out until Wyatt interferes. Now suddenly he is playing her boyfriend. But what happens when their chemistry is all too real? I loved Wyatt and Ellie so much. Their story was funny, charming and will have you laughing out loud.
I devoured Flirting with the Frenemy by Pippa Grant. It was hilarious and engaging and just left me feeling pleased. Wyatt is a sexy single dad and a military man. Ellie was feisty, caring and very likeable. This romantic comedy was a great read.

What an absolutely adorable book! Pippa does it again with characters that come to laugh and make me laugh from start to finish. After reading this book, I may or may not have tried to visit an actual pirate festival!
The relationship between Wyatt and Ellie is so cute and sometimes torturous for the reader, but the one between Wyatt’s son and Ellie is just too cute for words!
If you’re in the mood for love, laughter, and goats on the loose, then this is the book for you!
I was given Flirting with the Frenemy by Pippa Grant as an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) from Give Me Book Promotions. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
LOVED IT! Thank you, Pippa Grant for another hilarious story. True comedic genius written into every line, loved the condiment fight and the constant issues that surround Ellie and Wyatt are so out there I just laughed through the entire book.
One disaster after another befall upon Ellie and Wyatt when they are figuring out, they really don’t hate each other but are the love of each other’s lives. I can’t get past how much I loved this book on all levels.

Happy reading.
AWESOME, as always. Pippa Grant just blows me away with her humor, where does she come up with this stuff!!! I mean there were times that I was just cracking up so bad, my family was looking like I lost my damn mind!!
The town of Shipwreck is just so adorable. The Pirate Festival has everyone wearing their best Pirate clothes, like this is an everyday thing here. The Parrot, I need Silver Beard in my life, hysterical animal!
This is going to be an AMAZING series!!
When I got the chance to read Pippa Grant’s newest release Flirting with the Frenemy as an advance copy I knew I had to grab it and run… well read.
I discovered Ms. Grant a few months ago and have been completely I infatuated with her humorous characters and stories. Anyone who actually reads this blog knows that I’m a complete sucker for a romping good romantic comedy!
Flirting with the Frenemy was no exception! Funny, steamy with all the ups and downs needed for a truly memorable romance!
/5 laughy faces! My favorite!!!!
Flirting with the Frenemy is the first in a new series by Pippa Grant. While a new series, there are elements that connect to previous books, though we see all new characters. As you can guess, our main characters are enemies; she’s the little sister to his best friend. I was excited for a new Pippa Grant book-she’s one of my favorite authors!
This book differs from many of Ms. Grant’s in that we get to sneak peeks at many time period’s in the characters lives to get a feel for them at different stages in their journey and underlying motivations. Besides the obvious enemies to lovers aspect, we see the book tell the story of amazing personal struggles and growth, and of great friends and the power of love and laughter. I enjoyed the quirky characters that are a Pippa Grant trademark, along with the off beat town setting.
I loved the blurb about this book, but while it was entertaining it didn’t give away much about our characters. Maybe since it’s the first in the series, so we hadn’t met them in previous books. There was so much unknown going in! Ellie is our female lead who has known Wyatt since childhood, when they annoyed each other for fun. They reconnected on Christmas over crappy life situations; culminating in Ellie’s life being changed forever. Now Ellie is floundering and in need of the fake boyfriend. Wyatt is a single dad who is loyal and strong and fiercely protective but highly motivating to those around him. I liked their characters individually, and as a couple. There were a lot of secondary characters to keep track of with townsfolk, family, and exes; while I know they all played roles in the main story and I’m sure we’ll see them all again in future books, it was a cit confusing and jumbled for this book.
It wouldn’t be a Pippa Grant book without searing heat between our leads. Ellie and Wyatt just have a few chaotic issues with their chemistry. Their first night is both a pity sex and the culmination of years of lusting after each other. Coming back together later is a renewal of lust combined with both being in a new headspace about their lives. And while tragedy seems to strike every time they come together, they don’t actually burn the house down (just the metaphorical sheets).
The book was very evenly paced. I didn’t get sucked in like I did with most of Ms. Grant’s work though. I liked all the characters, situations, and settings; though there were a lot of small details to process, all of which were important to this book -or will be to a future book I’m sure!
I’m still not sure how I feel about this book. It is not one of my favorite Pippa Grant books (Charming as Puck) but it is a solid addition to her work. I liked how the characters worked to overcome situations, I liked the dialogue, I liked the comedy, the families, the exes, the kiddo, the goats, the pirates…but it just wasn’t my favorite. But maybe it will be yours!

I LOVE THIS AUTHOR! What else can I say. She helps add hilarity to my day whenever I read one of her books. Where she comes up with her craziness I’ll never know but I will definitely enjoy it. This book has it all. A fabulous hero, an amazingly strong heroine, fantastic supporting characters, a dirty mouth parrot, pirates galore, and goats.. yes goats! Wyatt and Ellie may have started off baiting each other from a young age but that just helped make them stronger and more determined adults. They both had their own demons but when push cames to shove they were perfect for each other, they made each other whole. I love brother’s best friend books, even if I want to hurt the brother at times. However I do love it more when the brother actually sees his sister as an equal and doesn’t stand in her way of love, which is what Beck did here. He actually supported and pushed them together, which made me love this story even more. I did think that this book was a bit different from this authors normal writing and not as crazy hilarious as her previous books. My heart broke for both Wyatt and Ellie right from the beginning. But the craziness that kept happening made up for that. Then there’s that ending! I’m left hanging and I want to know what happened!! Love Wyatt, Ellie, and of course Tucker!! *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Flirting With the Frenemy is filled with so much fun and the perfect amount of heart, it’s why I’m continually drawn to Pippa Grant’s books time and time again.
There is almost no better description than Frenemy when it comes to someone from your childhood who tormented you to no end, yet also pushed you to better yourself because you just had to prove to that insufferable being that you were better than all of their constant teasing. (Boy did I see a lot of myself in Ellie)
Ellie grew up with her older brother Beck and all of his friends, but one in particular, Wyatt Morgan, never let her get away with anything. Their antagonistic relationship began at a young age and followed them into adulthood. It was only after a mistake, an evening where they were both trying to recover from drowning in their sorrows of losing their current relationships, that things turned, well, not exactly for the better, but something definitely did shift and their lives did change.
“Wyatt Morgan doesn’t make mistakes. Not twice, anyway.”-Ellie
Months later Wyatt is still trying to apologize for that fateful night, but all Ellie wants to do is forget it. That becomes a problem when Wyatt and his adorable son, Tucker, end up staying at her brothers home at the same time she is. She’s there for her best friends wedding, along with her ex and his new girlfriend. Ellie has a fake date all lined up, but when Wyatt shows up and spoils her plans, she isn’t about to let Wyatt off the hook.
Their antagonistic games begin just like old times. It’s like putting on an old, stinky shoe that fits and his name is Wyatt Morgan. Well, okay…he’s more like a top of the line expensive shoe that hugs your foot and you never want to take off because he actually begins to grow on Ellie, but you get my point. Wyatt Morgan is trouble and Ellie doesn’t know how to handle his kind of trouble.
“Ellie Ryder and me? We mix as well as water and lava.”-Wyatt
Wyatt Morgan on the other hand is visiting for a week with his son, Tucker. This is his vacation and he only gets to see his son a few times a year thanks to his divorce and his ex living across the country. All Wyatt wanted to do was spend a week with his son, digging up treasure, looking for the lost pegleg, and other pirate themed adventures. It did not involve driving Ellie nuts, not that he doesn’t get some kind of sick joy out of it. What is wrong with him that he actually enjoys pushing her buttons, but he does. However, when Beck calls and asks for his help getting her out of the funk she’s been in for the last several months he has a hard time saying no.
“My brother’s childhood best friend is the only man is the entire universe who can get under my skin and bring out my ugly faster than you can blink, and I swear he takes joy in doing it.”-Ellie
The more they collide, the more he enjoys her company and the more he enjoys her company the more he realizes that perhaps their relationship has always been leading them towards each other. What is he going to do once the week is over?
The silliness, the themed wedding, the friendships make my heart happy. I can’t help but smile when I read Pippa’s books. You will adore everything about this book. I promise.
FUN. That’s what this book is. It’s just so darn much fun! Everything about it, all the way through it is fun. It’s also hilarious, zany, outrageous, quirky, steamy, evocative, poignant and sweet. With an adorable kid, a delightfully unique cast of secondary characters, an ex who doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of “ex,” a foul-mouthed parrot, pirates and treasure hunts, dueling town festivals, farm animals run amok, and a phenomenal theme wedding, this book has something for every reader.
As only Grant can, she sets the scene with a quirky destination wedding that brings two frenemies with an awkward history back together, while giving us two popular tropes of brother’s best friend and single dad. Ellie and Wyatt’s last encounter involved broken hearts, alcohol and lost clothing, resulting in a bad accident, feelings of inadequacy and piles of guilt. Now, Ellie is staying at one of her brother’s many homes, this one in the delightfully wacky town of Shipwreck, to be part of her best friend’s wedding festivities. Too bad her brother offered the same house to his best friend, Wyatt, and his son, Tucker, knowing Ellie would be there.
I adore everything about these characters! Both Ellie and Wyatt are complex, eternally endearing, and just a bit broken. As they set aside their childhood bickering and really get to know each other, the vulnerabilities that are slowly revealed make it impossible not to love them and be fully invested in them finally getting their forever together. Little Tucker, as well as Beck, whose not a kid but often acts like one, provide some delightful comedy as well as surprising insight that provoke the reader’s contemplation. For those who don’t like kids in romance, I suspect you just haven’t met a kid like Tucker. His character is done extremely well — adorable, smart, precocious and no verbal filter, providing some of the best moments in the book.
Barring alien abduction, demonic possession or a complete psychotic break, Pippa will always be a 1-click author for me. Oh, who am I kidding? No force on earth can keep me from reading her books. I don’t give my book money away, willy nilly, but Grant has earned herself a top spot in my must-read authors. With outrageous humor that makes reading her books in public impossible without garnering strange looks, pointing and whispering, and her ability to pack an emotional punch and embed her characters deep in my heart, Grant always leave me supremely satisfied while still wanting more from her. She strikes the perfect balance of outrageous, madcap hilarity, heartfelt emotion and delicious sensuality, making me fall for every new character I meet. Whatever circumstances you find yourself in, whether your day is horrendous or fantastic, Grant’s writing will make your life even better. I dare you to read Ellie and Wyatt’s story without laughing out loud, feeling your heartstrings being tugged, and having that satisfying happy sigh at the end. Go ahead and hit the 1-Click. I promise you won’t regret it.
