An all new flirty, lighthearted, standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg guaranteed to make you swoon. Blakely Foxx is having one of those years. She’s been warned that he’ll break her heart, but she’s willing to take the chance. Not only is he helping her get that promotion, but in the process, he’s encouraging her to find the parts of herself she’s lost over the past few years.

Anyone who has read Kristy Bromberg before will know she does the brooding Alpha Hero brilliantly. Flirting with 40 is something a little lighter that we have not seen from her since Sweet Cheeks and it was just the book I needed to read.
Blakely is a woman on the verge of turning 40, newly divorced and replaced for a younger woman she is trying to find herself again. Find who she is in her personal life and achieve her goals career wise when she has a younger boss telling her, her age has left her out of touch with what people want from their products. When Blakely meets Slade a 31 year old Cardiothoracic Surgeon in a bar one evening she cannot believe he could possibly be interested in her. Surely he has taken pity on her being alone in a bar and Blakely leaves at the first opportunity she gets.
From the moment they meet again, in front of Blakey’s ex husband and his new fiancée no less, I was hooked. Slade had my heart from that moment on! He oozes charm and charisma without being cocky and arrogant, he see’s people for who they are and his intellect and contentment for who he is, is endearing.
I thought Blakely was going to be a meek heroine, using her age as an excuse for everything however that was not the case. Kristy made her so relatable as a woman, she has insecurities as every woman walking this planet does; but Slade made her see all her best parts, he makes her see her worth independent of anyone else and I love this message.
I laughed through most of the book and when I wasn’t laughing I read with the biggest smile on my face! Blakely’s work place woodland retreat served as the ideal setting for this book, throwing a whole mix of characters together and highlighted the Hero and heroine’s budding relationship beautifully. Reading Blakely find confidence in herself was a wonderful thing and I think so many females will relate to her story. Kristy Bromberg has written a stand out novel with Flirting with 40, if you want a easy read romance that leaves you feeling content, satisfied and smiling then look no further.
Flirting with 40 was the perfect weekend reading for me!! I really enjoyed and loved this story so much!!!
Blakely is a 39 years old divorced woman who find herself asking her if she waste a lot of time in her marriage, because her husband doesnt waste time and now is engaged to a young girl. So blakely is trying to get a promotion in her job but this wont be easy for her thanks for the new additon to the company she works.
So when she thinks everything is wrong and her life is boring she meets this amazing guy who is some years younge than her, his name is SLADE and he is perfect!! handsome great personality. Blakely find herself in a difficult situation where she has to accept Slade help, but once their plan start working everything start to change their chemistry and feeling are everything and things start getting serious!!
OMG this book was everything!! I highly recommend you to read it as soon as is avaiable so you can enojy the beautiful story about Blakely and Slade!!
Flirting with 40 is a sweet treat to devour in one sitting.
This novel is sweet, sexy and so easy to read.
Blakely is nearly 40 and i found her age and her maturity really interesting, maybe because i’m 40 since only a few weeks lol. But even if she’s mature she discovers she still can have fun and laugh at loud thanks to Slade, and still can fall madly in love.
Slade is younger but he doesn’t act as a foolish young man. He’s an intern, working hard to be a good surgeon without losing his moral compass and his compassion. He’s a beautiful human being. When Blakely talks he REALLY listens, he helps her, he cheers her up… She says several times that he’s too good to be true and i agree with her lol. He’s funny, very charming and sexy and knows how to seduce but finally what’s more seductive about him is his ability to listen and care. How to resist a man like him? Impossible!!!
He has his own issues… caused by his too big heart! So you swoon even more.
We see Blakely find confidence, happiness and taking control of her life, being the real and new Blakely (post divorce).
It’s a story of a man who saves life no matter what, forgetting his own interest. The story of a woman who builds a new life after a break up, finding her true self. The love story between two great characters you will love.
“When you’re suffering in the dark, it’s amazing how much you cling to the one person who brings you a glimmer of light.”
A hilarious, steamy, and lighthearted older woman/younger man romance that is well written with a fantastic storyline and amazing characters. K. Bromberg gives you a steady flow of humor, witty banter, sizzling hot chemistry, lots of feels, a touch of angst, some drama, and steamy moments.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Flirting with 40 is the perfectly sweet and sexy romance I needed.
Blakely is a great heroine. She’s smart and driven, and more than capable. She’s just suffering from a lack of confidence post-divorce.
Slade is so swoonworthy. A well-liked Doctor with the best heart, you can’t help fall in love with him. He’s also a little younger than Blakely, and I am here for it.
These two together are just right. The chemistry and banter, the outdoor shenanigans are all perfection. I devoured this book in one go, and I finished it with a smile on my face. This lighthearted, swoony story was just what the Doctor ordered.
Who would have ever thought you could loose yourself while being married after 15..so years ?? That is exactly what happened to Blakley Foxx .. after her divorce from Paul and it took a younger man .. one Sexy, Hot, Intelligent Dr. Slate Henderson to show her that she needed to find the REAL Blakley again along with a whole list of to do items he saw fit for her and him .. to achieve.
All she needed was a little fun and games to get her going. A business retreat as a matter of fact to show her colleges she is more valuable being the oldest member of the group because she knows what the Board Members of Glam is looking for and what works, only if her boss, Horrible Heather, will give her a chance.
Even though Slade is going though his own work situations he is there 100 percent to help Blake. Even with her pausing the age card with Slate, being 9 years younger, he knows the woman he met at the bar that first night was sexy, fierce and fisty and could handle a doctors grooling schedule because he knows in his mind and heart she is worth everything to him !! And he to her !!
The funny, sexy banter between these two is off the charts and LOVED every word of there story !!
A cute, sweet story of finding yourself and falling in love again.
Slade and Blakely meet at a bar, but she leaves when he steps away for a moment. When they run into each other again he steps in to help her. They end up on her work retreat together where their fake relationship starts to grow into real feelings.
There’s a lot of humor here, but the parts I really enjoyed were Slade helping Blakely figure out how to move on and find her happiness again.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Flirting with 40 was an absolutely fantastic story!! Slade and Blakely were so wonderful to read about!
Blakely…..I think she’s a character a lot of ladies will find themselves being able to relate to if they found themselves in the same situation as she was in. Being close to forty years old, newly divorced after being in a very long term relationship……and dealing with the young up and comers at work, she was in a bit of a crossroads in life. Until she met the young and charming Slade. She for the life of her couldn’t imagine what he saw in her, being that much younger than her and that sexy. How he helped her when running into her ex and his new fiancée…….how he volunteered to be her pretend boyfriend to go on a work retreat with her – Blakely really just couldn’t see in herself what Slade saw that first moment he saw her sitting at the bar. All Slade saw that night was a beautiful woman by herself and he was immediately intrigued. And then when fate had them bumping into each other on the street, he knew there was something there that he wanted to explore. I just seriously adored him so much, and how he showed Blakely that she was desirable and sexy and beautiful and that her ex was an idiot for letting her go. Slade seriously is one of the best book boyfriends ever, and Blakely sure is one lucky lady.
Flirting with 40 was everything I needed. K. Bromberg really outdid herself. I was sucked in immediately and sad when it ended. I wanted Blakely and Slade’s story to go on forever. I loved their chemistry and laughed hysterically at their banter. I also loved how they felt like real people with real struggles, but handled in adult ways. 5 shining stars for this great read. Can’t wait for the next
4 Stars!
I loved this book!
Blakely is struggling she is nearing 40 has just gone through a divorce and is trying to keep her job and hopefully get a promotion all whilst her new boss, horrible Heather seems to be trying to push her out the door. When she meets a handsome stranger in a bar who may be the answer to all her problems.
Slade is not happy, he is on suspension from his job and it’s killing him not working. When he meets Blakely in a bar one night he is immediately taken by her, can he convince her to take a chance?
Flirting with 40 was a breath of fresh air! There were times I laughed out loud. It’s funny, it’s sexy and swoony, it has strong characters who complement each other, and there’s a little twist called karma. All of these things make this story one of the best I’ve read this year.
Blakely, a woman approaching 40, recently divorced and left for a younger woman, is having the worst of days. Enter Slade, a hot younger man with a heart of gold who isn’t easily put off, and you get the start of a very entertaining story, one you won’t be able to put down.
Flirting with 40 is a new standalone by K. Bromberg. The story will leave you with a smile on your face and will warm your heart.

Flirting with 40 is just what I needed!
My last few reads were on the heavier side of the emotional scale. So, this fun and flirty stand-alone by K. Bromberg was just the pick me up I needed.
While it’s a lighthearted read, the storyline is full of substance that will have you turning the pages to see what happens next.
Everyone needs a cheerleader like Slade in their life. Luckily for Blakely, he’s as easy on the eyes as he is on the heart.
Flirting with 40 is LIVE!
Prepare to be swooned.
I loved Slade. He was open, honest, and always positive. He had the best outlook on life, and was always so kind and generous. Blakely was just as great. She may have been hesitant at first, but once she opened up, she was such a strong and outgoing heroine. I loved their banter and the checklist. Watching things get crossed off that list was so satisfying for me. This book will make you laugh and swoon the entire time.
What a fun, easy read. It was just what the doctor ordered, LOL. Blakely and Slade bring out the best in one another, it just takes Blakely a little time to not just see it but believe it. Both characters have their own situations that affect who they are (don’t we all) right now, but when put together for 5 days, there is no denying the attraction between the two. As much as Slade is helping Blakely show to the world who she really is inside, Blakely is helping Slade just as much. The characters are great together. Kristy has another another great book!!
Blakely for the win…I absolutely loved her. It was so much fun seeing her break out of the shell he ex made her to be. Slade was a huge help but for the first time ever (I think) I loved female character more than male. Don’t get me wrong he was great and all but Blakely stole this story for me.
This story is fun, sweet, hot, steamy and swoon from start to finish. I was rooted to my spot and couldn’t put it down to the very end. Absolutely lovely story!!

“I lost a part of myself, and now, it’s my job to find her again.” I know most of us can relate to this one line and this next one. “Goddamn own who you are. Be the woman you are.”
I definitely found myself within these pages. This new read by Author K. Bromberg was captivating in every way as the words and characters shined through the pages and left an everlasting mark on my heart. You’ll fall in love with every character. 5 stars isn’t enough for this masterpiece!!
Get ready for this one, you don’t want to miss out on it!

An absolutely perfect book for me! Easy to read, great story line with a feel good vibe and completely lovable hero.
This is a true feel-good story and enough to boost the spirits and self-esteem of anyone. I was left with warm fuzzies and a soft smile on my face each time I think of Slade. He’s just the perfect gent and just so right for Blakely.
I don’t think there are many readers out there that can’t resonate or empathise with Blakely. There’s always something about ourselves that the little voices in our head won’t shut up about. Slade is Blakely’s one to quiet that voice and drown it out with his goofiness, his confidence and his utter devotion to her despite their less-than-normal beginning.
Buy this book, find a quiet spot, and devour this book. It will take your breath away and give you all the happies. Easily one of my favourite books of 2020!
It hasn’t been Blakely’s day, week, month, or even her year. Her husband of seventeen years has replaced her with a woman half her age, and her younger boss hates her. It has undermined her confidence and made her question her abilities as she’s up for a career-making promotion. To blow off some steam, she goes to a trendy bar where she meets Slade. The hot, younger cardiothoracic surgeon takes an interest in her. Can she find her inner bada$$ to pursue her promotion and take a chance on Slade?
I think most of us can relate to Blakely. During her marriage, she put her husband first and molded herself to fit his needs. If she was honest with herself, their relationship wasn’t working long before they broke up. Between the demise of her marriage and her horrible boss, Blakely lost her sparkle. With encouragement from Slade and her best friend, I loved seeing Blakely put herself first and feel good about herself again.
I enjoyed how Blakely and Slade’s relationship develops. Slade is the right man for Blakely at the right time. Blakely’s quiet strength and confidence attract him to her. While Blakely doubts she still has it, Slade brings out her youthful and vibrant side. He helps her shine again. With Blakely at his side, Slade also gains a new perspective on his own issues.
Flirting With 40 is a delightful, feel-good read. Blakely and Slade’s antics and banter will make you laugh and smile while Blakely’s transformation will warm your heart.
I received an early copy of this book from the author. I volunteered to provide an honest, unbiased review.
5+ ‘Blade’s To-Do List’ Stars!
ARC provided via Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.
I am in love. I AM SO IN LOOOOOOOOOOVE. I just finished reading one of my absolute favorite books of 2020 and definitely one of my favorites written by K. Bromberg. And that is saying a lot since I am a huge fan of her novels. This story consumed me, the characters, the romance, their connection, their chemistry, the emotions. I just loved it ALL. And I am just going to say this: Slade Henderson is one of the best heroes Kristy has ever written. Period.
So, Flirting with 40 is Bromberg’s new standalone and it tells the story of Blakely Foxx, a recently divorced woman who is approaching the big 4-0 and is fighting to get the promotion she deserves. That is not easy, especially having a bitchy boss and a wrecked self-confidence. Enter Slade Henderson. Good guy, gorgeous, 31 year old cardiothoracic surgeon who also is in a difficult moment professionally and apparently is not ready for commitment. But these two met and sparks fly all over the place. Will this just be a rebound or will it be so much more than what either expected?
“Let it go. Take the ride. Put your toes in the sand. Howl at the moon. Do whatever it is you want to do so long as it’s in pursuit of finding you again.”
I loved the premise of this story. It promised an age-gap romance mixed with a fake relationship, a sexy good guy, a magnetic woman and a whole lot of sexiness and feels. I got exactly what I wanted and so much more. Flirting with 40 gripped me from start to finish, I adored this crew of characters, this couple and their relationship. I loved the tension. I loved the chemistry. I loved the romanticism. I loved seeing Blake and Slade’s layers slowly peeling off. I loved the background stories of both. I loved the smoking hot sexy scenes. I loved when the feelings got in the mix. I loved EVERYTHING. I am a sucker for lighthearted romances, with a whole lot of sexiness, less drama and all the feels.
“You want the promotion? Then take it. You want to tell Heather off? Then tell her. You want me? Then love the new Blakely first because that’s who I want to laugh with. Not the one you think all these people want you to be—whoever that is. Just the you from the beach bonfire who was willing to dig her toes into the sand and howl at the moon. Just the you who hates the outdoors and drinks whiskey at a bar after a long day at work and tells off men who try to talk to her. Just the you who is willing to go along with crazy schemes like the one I concocted because I feared I wouldn’t get a second glance otherwise. That’s who I’d pick every time. Hands down. Just you.”
Of course, the best part about Flirting with 40 is its main characters. So not sorry but Slade just completely stole the show for me. I love Kristy’s heroes and she did an outstanding job with him. He is an all-around good guy, sexy-as-hell, protective, romantic, caring, funny. Basically just freaking amazing. I loved him so much. Can I please have him? And Blakely. Damn! I love a smart heroine. She flourishes in this book and, with Slade’s help, her confidence and self-love just blossom. And them together? Pure perfection. Forget about the age (it’s so not important here), these two just belong together. Their connection is the real deal.
“Love is sometimes hard to accept,” he says.
“And sometimes it’s so effortless it’s scary.”
Therefore, (obviously) I am rating Flirting with 40 with my special 5+ STARS rating because I can assure you it definitely deserves it. K. Bromberg’s writing just does it for me. BIG TIME. And this couple was addicting. Their love story hooked me from start to finish and their chemistry burned the pages. Blade forever! (I love that they have a ship name haha). Kristy, congratulations because you gave us an outstanding thriving romance that I am sure many will adore. Highly, highly recommend reading this one!
“I thought I had been living before Slade Henderson, and now I know I had no clue what living really was.”
This was such a fun, sexy and lighthearted age-gap romance with a fake dating twist! Fresh off a divorce, Blakley is still finding her footing and creeping up on the big 4-0 milestone. Trying to save her promotion at work and appear more youthful to her new boss, she embarks on a crazy but perfect fake relationship with a younger and charming man Slade. Their relationship and meet cute was just so fun and had me laughing, nothing like a good bar pickup line to make you feel young.
“She was confidence laced with insecurity, defiance edged by doubt, and a captivating nature that shined through every so often when she let her guard down and forgot she was supposed to be angry.”
Even with a pending case against his job as a Doctor, Slade had such a positive and fresh outlook on life and living it to the fullest. He was the perfect man to show Blakley she was still capable of fun and was a beautiful and sexy woman no matter her age. Devastatingly handsome and filthy in the bedroom, what was supposed to be a rebound romp with Slade ended up turning into something so much more. Blakely needed to find herself again and what better way to do that with a sexy doctor who had the ability to make her love herself again. If you are looking for something fun, flirty and definitely sexy, check out this book!
“You should never let another woman steal your sparkle.”
