My name is Calliope and “I bone for a living.” Kidding. I am studying to be a paleontologist though. It’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to be, and I have finally landed the perfect museum internship to make all of my dino-loving dreams come true. Trouble is, everyone wants me to be a gentle, loving sort of creature, but I’m more of the T-Rex type by nature – the kind who is determined to stomp … determined to stomp and tear her way through any obstacle in order to get what she wants.
But when a sexy, rumbly-voiced astronomer plummets into my orbit and threatens to break open my hard little heart, my career and my whole way of looking at the world is suddenly on the line.
The dinosaurs didn’t see their asteroid coming.
And I sure as hell wasn’t prepared for mine.

I laughed so much with this and I practically had a smile on my face the whole time. For being Erin’s debut novel, she did an amazing job. It does need some work in terms of the dialogue. I found myself getting lost at times as there was way too much going on. I loved the characters and they’re the ones that hooked me in.
A debut novel that will make you smile.
Flirtasaurus is the debut novel by author Erin Mallon. It’s a laugh-out-loud, hilarious, and down-right smexy. I just loved it so hard. You might be thinking… Erin Mallon- I know that name, and you’d be correct. She’s an audio star in her own right and has transitioned into romance writing and this book proves how talented she is.
From the first snort-laugh inducing ‘meet-cute’ to the wonderfully happy ending, and every page in between, this book is filled with a quirky, well-imagined, and fun to read story.
Calliope and Ralph make the most darling of a couple and I couldn’t read the story fast enough and was sorry when it came to an end. I can’t wait to read more from this fabulous new author. Pick up your copy today and give yourself a new obsession.
When I saw Erin Mallon wrote a book and it involved dinosaurs I knew I had to read it. OMG this book was hysterical and sweet and filled with dinosaur fun. Calliope is definitely a quirky girl who found just the right person in Ralph. Their banter and flirting was so fun to read. Also Calliopes parents are just the best!! Great start to this series!
4.5 Fun & Adorkable Stars!
What a fun, refreshing start to The Natural History Series! Mallon’s debut novel is an entertaining and adorkable romance between a quirky, aspiring paleontologist, and a sexy, rumbly-voiced astronomer. Calliope and Ralph had the most awkward meet cute that wasn’t a meet at all, setting the tone for this hilarious and quirky story. Calliope has always wanted to be a paleontologist and has been so acutely focused on achieving all her dreams that she is more focused on things that are dead instead of living. That is until she meets Ralph, the sexy astronomer at the museum where they both work. He is so kind, selfless, and sexy. They have instant attraction and fiery chemistry. He is the calm to her fervor and he manages to make her see that finding love doesn’t mean giving up your dreams. I loved both Calliope and Ralph, from their witty banter, to their awkward encounters, to their steamy passion, they are perfect together. There are so many laugh out loud moments, but many sweet and heartwarming moments as well. Their quirky family and friends are all intriguing and wonderful characters, adding to the fun and rounding out this story. This romcom was so endearing, it captured my heart and had me totally engaged from the very beginning. I can’t wait for more from Mallon, and her new Natural History Series!
4.5 Stars for Flirtasaurus
I was intrigued to read a book written by one of my favourite narrator’s and once I realised Erin Mallon’s debut rom-com I was excited to get my hands on Flirtasaurus and I wasn’t disappointed, this book is well written, it has characters that are easy to like and it has plenty of witty banter, what more could you want in a romantic comedy.
Calliope is determined to make her dream of becoming a palaeontologist come true, it’s all she has ever wanted to do since childhood, she will do what ever is necessary to make her dream a reality, unfortunately that leads to as many blunders as opportunities.
Ralph is the swoon worthy hero who joins Calliope on her journey and that’s when the fun and games begin, but we also get to see the caring side of Ralph in his determination to support Calliope in everything she wants to do.
Quirky characters with a few flaws made this book so special, I laughed at the banter and I swooned at the kindness and the love and I’m looking forward to what’s next from this very talented narrator turned author. Great job Ms Mallon.
Well, I think my face has almost fallen off from laughing so much at this joyously funny, witty debut novel by the very talented Erin Mallon. I have been a fan of her narrating skills for some time, but this just proves what an all round talented lady we have here.
Flirtasaurus starts as it means to go on, introducing us to the delightfully foot-in-mouth, sarky, utterly wonderful Calliope..be sure to pronounce that correctly , and just does not stop providing buckets full of humour, kindness, total ridiculousness, and complete balm to the soul. To say I have enjoyed this book would be a serious understatement..I f’ing loved it!! Bring me more immediately..
Wow! This is probably one of the most fun stories I have read in quite a while!
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when signing up to review this story, but I can say I was very happily surprised with what I got! The characters are fantastic and quirky and so delightful to read about. The humour that shines through every page of this story really brought a smile to my face. Especially when it came from a certain leading lady…
I’ve always loved reading books with strong female leads and/or female supporting characters, and this story has that in spades! Calliope is one of my new favourite protagonists! She has such a entertainingly huge personality that I was hooked by her character from page one (literally page one).
Of course we can’t forget to talk about Ralph though! His character is so sweet and fits so well with Callie that the humour in this story wasn’t the only thing making me smile, the romance between these two did as well.
I’ll keep this review short and sweet in an effort to encourage whomever reads this to go pick up this story themselves. I can confidently say that you have never read a story like this one before! Great book!
4 star review Flirtasaurus (The Natural History Series #1) by Erin Mallon
I was intrigued by the blurb for this book (not to mention I loved the title Flirtasaurus) and having listened to numerous books narrated by Erin Mallon, I was intrigued to read and review this book as this is her debut novel.
The characters were quirky, easy to relate too and I enjoyed the banter. In fact there were quite a few laugh out loud moments throughout and I enjoyed the journey Calliope and Ralph travelled to get their happily ever after.
Calliope is a strong woman and I really liked her. The fact that she was focused on becoming a paleontologist and determined to succeed added to my enjoyment of the story. Ralph is totally swoon worthy and I loved how caring and supportive he is of Calliope.
I appreciated that Ms. Mallon was not afraid to write about characters who were flawed and this added an additional layer to my enjoyments of the story.
This book, oh god it had me dying of laughter at some points. The sleepover at the museum & her visit to her parents house. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. The entire time I read this book, it reminded me of a character doing something really really embarrassing where you close the book & just take a moment before continuing reading? Yeah that basically sums up the whole book for me except you can’t help but continue reading & at moments you can’t help but laugh your ass off. Calliope was cringe worthy, intelligent as hell, hilarious & also a one woman wrecking crew. Made for quite the interesting read!
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
